“It is not quite the same...” Mary spoke softly in between small nibbles on the muesli bar, “The human brain can still retain memories of its life; that is what the zombie uses. You cannot change their thought pattern from what they believe though – it kind of... breaks them, I suppose is the right term.” She closed her eyes, only for a moment as she left her head rested on Carina’s shoulder while her sister continued her reading and note-taking. There were a few memories of talking to a couple of strange people in the ‘school’ she’d been left in. She’d gotten in trouble for doing so, but some of the things they said were interesting. “Some say the spirit or soul is the difference between a zombie and a vampire... maybe... but then that goes against what we have been taught and...” Mary cut off as she felt it approaching and her sharp gaze snapped to the young looking vampire as he paid far more attention to Carina than she’d have cared to see while he made himself comfortable, completely uninvited. Immediately Mary’s defences were up. Why was he looking at her sister with that strange look? Then he smirked at them and asked about their reading material. Mary’s eyes narrowed dangerously as one hand moved to Carina’s and gripped it tightly. Could he tell? But why would he be only watching her sister unless... Of course, Carina didn’t know much about herself, even how to hide her power from those who might see past just the physical. Still, she didn’t like it. And as Carina spoke to the silvery haired man, her sister’s eyes flashed black for a moment as she sent a metaphysical nudge toward the vampire. It would be like a sharp prod at his aura to send a chill down his spine, as though warning him off from doing anything he shouldn’t. Perhaps one of the sisters was inexperienced, but Mary knew deep down somewhere that she would and could do what she had to in order to protect Carina. “Agreed,” She answered softly in regards to Carina’s comment on knowledge. The sooner they started working on her power, the better off they would be. She glanced at his stack of books for a split second before watching him again, "Found interesting reading of your own?" |
