Gerard merely looked at the lioness when she made the comment about dealing with a gentleman. It held no fire nor any emotion of any kind. In that moment it was easy to describe that the only thing that was felt was apathy. While she represented an investment of time and effort she had not grown to the point where it would become more costly to keep her then the reward of having her. The vampire understood the game that the lion was playing and he was not about to fall into it. No quite the opposite she needed to be taught a lesson and he knew just how to do it. “I see you are as charming as always Dhelia, you are dismissed I no longer require your services tonight. Have a good evening.” While he in fact had enough patience to deal with far more sass and lip from the women it would not illustrate his point if he just accepted it. No, she needed to understand exactly who was master here and it would not be her, ever. Without a single thought he turned his back and settled back into the chair picking up a leather bound and old novel and placing it in his lap and continued reading where it was left out. While it was older than the average book it was no means an original, the vampire was far from stupid especially with the way that the lioness handled her temper. The fire would be too tempting of a place to put his book and he did not want to lose a priceless artifact because of a threatened and scared lion. Gerard made a mental note to credit the lioness with forty five seconds of her time and then prepared his body and mind for anything that the lioness would do. He was quite sure that she would not just leave especially after fitting herself into that dress. “If you wish to apologize you may stay otherwise I have no use for you” |
