Preview to 9000

So. You have arrived, having heard about the 9000 Word Special. Honestly, it hasn’t been in development as long as I’d like to claim. Why? I procrastinated. Somewhat. Also, I don’t have the notebook with me that I normally write in (WHAAAT) so I’m going to be putting some of the new scenes in there out of order. It’ll be more interesting that way, I guess. Also, I’m striving to get to the part where it sort of cross overs with Top Story. So, without further ado, it’s time to start off on that long journey towards 9000.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DGBuup3Cmk&feature=related
Our group has just now arrived on the surface of a different planet, known as Cor Luminox. This was the home world of Seth, long ago, before he was killed. But that’s part of another story.
Enni felt a bit odd because the sky was grey and the surroundings were all in black and white. More white than black, though. She and the other group members were in color.
“What’s going on here?” she asked. The others seemed just as amazed.
Keirkan brought up a research readout. “This is Cor Luminox. The name translates literally to ‘the heart of light and darkness’ in Latin terms. It’s known that way for the special forces at work in its atmosphere, in place of mana. The planet is mostly controlled by two alliances of nations that also take up these two opposing forces. They’re always at war.”
“It’s bright enough here,” Becca commented. “I think we’re in a place that isn’t quite sure of itself, but closer to the Light side.”
“How can the ground have feelings?” Zornt asked. Good question, actually.
A shape made of darkness wandered among the buildings. Syla screamed in shock. The man looked over at them and started to run away, only to find itself backed against a wall.
“D-don’t hurt me,” he said. He seemed more like a child than a man, actually.
Enni considered for a moment. “Don’t worry. We’re here to help.”
The boy looked down for a moment, then looked at the Princess herself. “It’s you, isn’t it? I didn’t know you would be here.”
Syla stared for a few seconds. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know you.”
Jake rolled his eyes and sighed, seeing the same thing as the rest–Syla was lying. But if she didn’t want to admit that, then she didn’t have to.
“I must have been mistaken,” the boy said. “Well, it matters little. I’m very far away from home and there isn’t much hope of escaping this territory. You say you’ve come to help... do you really mean that, then?”
Enni nodded vigorously. “Even if we can’t save you, anything to help right the situation in this world. That’s our mission. Right, everyone?”
The others stood in shock of Enni’s leadership, but, reluctantly, agreed.
“Well, saviors, I’m honored to greet you,” the boy said. “My name is Clias.”
And, of course, I don’t have my own introductions sequence like Top does because I’d have to add a new one practically every part. And I don’t like that. So, yeah, everyone said hi to Clias and introduced themselves and such.
And now, I’ve grown quite bored with this scene. SWITCH!

For ten long years, I’ve waited. And today, I get to leave that waiting behind.
No longer shall my daughter’s story be kept separate from mine; after all, we have met far too many times over our long journeys. And just as one story brings wonder at why certain things may happen, the other brings answers. And likewise the reverse may be true. Written as two separate works it will be in its future, because the order in which it is read will change the feelings of those who read it. But enough of this sort of talk. Enough making me sound cooler than I am.
After all, it’s been a while since you’ve all seen me. There’s a lot of catching up to do. The thing is, my current situation may be a little more urgent. So, sit back and just keep wondering why I’m not dead, how it is that we don’t know who Enni’s mother really is even to this day. And the same is true for a lot of our heirs–it doesn’t always make sense, but really did it ever? I will tell you that Eibmoz’s method was not reused here. That is, the women of our group had babies.
But I’m getting too sidetracked. You’re probably also wondering why I’ve been waiting for ten years, right? Wait... I’m out of time for this bit. HA

Oh no. I don’t have anything near close to 9000 words. I don’t even have 900. It’s a week till Christmas, there isn’t the thrill of NaNoWriMo bearing down on me. I don’t even know what I was thinking when I said this. Of course, that was a week ago... procrastinator as I am. I’m just uh losing motivation. I guess. This sucks. Sorry everyone. It’s possible that the 9000 word special might be... canceled.
GASP!
Now that is a cliffhanger for us all, a question that desperately needs to be answered. The answer could very well become a plot twist of its own, or a story arc of sorts. Remember, I have until Christmas to get to 9000 words.
Just as Enni had a half hour to get to South America and back.
As she would have said, good luck, and godspeed! GO!

The Page I Didn’t Get to Before

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOGGrgJvRW0
“Your princess will not escape next time,” I said. “I will have my revenge for everything her people have done. As long as time governs the universe, we will not be exterminated. You, my daughter, are a traitor and a fool. This is why I exiled you to this God-forsaken planet–wrongly.”
Of course, the people don’t wish to hear of me. So, for now, I leave this story, until the day it will meet my own once again. There is no escape. I disappeared.
“I’m being hunted,” Syla whispered. “Then, we can’t afford to go back home. It would reveal my people.”
“Why’d you leave?” Jake asked.
The Princess looked down. “I didn’t know...”
“So,” Keirkan said, “His forces don’t know how to get to Syllody. She’s right–showing him would be too risky.”
Everyone discussed this for a few minutes. I could go into Enni’s thought process or something, but that would take too long. She spoke up anyway. “I’ve got an ultimate plan.”
The scene cuts to a crappy diagram as she speaks. If you can actually diagram this one. “A portal you used to get to Earth is more likely to take them back to your starting point. So what if we teleported from there to a different place? A place where the people might help us if we help them. And as we leave, we’ll destroy the place we passed through so they can’t get through. It’ll help us triple, won’t it?”
“That last sentence made no sense,” Jake commented.
“It almost did,” Becca said.
“Well, Princess, it’s your decision,” Keirkan pointed out.
“I submit to your will, Enni,” Syla said. “Er, I agree,” she corrected, blushing.
She really does like me, Enni thought. In a really hot way. Oops! Don’t think about the Princess just now... You’ve barely escaped Arucar. Enni stared at Syla, suddenly seeing Arucar in her mind instead.
“A-alright,” Enni said finally. “Let’s figure out how to get back.”
“This is the Grand Canyon,” Keirkan announced. “Amazing, how we all ended up here. The masses warped here, so we must have been sucked in somehow. By masses I mean armies.”
“Good, ‘cause, you know, most people can’t fly,” Jake said.
“Why not?” said someone sort of familiar. Zornt!
“The evolution of wings is one separate from that of large brains. People closer to flying don’t survive better, not enough to evolve it anyway,” Keirkan explained.
“They do in a fight,” Noctus said, unfurling a bloody pair of wings. “Enni, have yours awakened just yet?” he asked.
She showed them off. “Enough, let’s go. We’ll have plenty of time to figure this out on the way.”
Yeah, this was that part that I had in my notebook. And you’re going to need it to understand the Kurismius Special. And so I typed it up and all. Time to merry up some Kurismius!

The Kurismius Special - Frosty the Crystal Oxic Acid Man

I’m sure you are all wondering why the word is spelled Kurismius. We will address that as we join our group on the train from the Grand Canyon back to Michigan.
“Is Kurismius already around the corner?” Jake asked.
“You mean Christmas?” Enni asked.
“It’s properly pronounced Kurismius,” Syla informed her.
“What?”
So basically after a conversation the conclusion was that there are two very similar but not quite the same holidays in the two worlds. In Syllody, the jolly old Sarinta Caluse comes in a sleigh pulled by flying cows wearing a green suit.
By the way, it was hard to find a decent-quality of this song so be happy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szLmAPW39uE

The ride was a slow and boring one. Within an hour everyone ran out of conversation.
Finally Becca went into the control room and started fiddling with some things about the train and it began to move faster and faster, not making any stops. The random people on the train began to panic but hey the fate of the universe was in the balance. I think.
As she opened the door to come back into the car, huge amounts of snow were blowing into it. Becca closed the door and stared at the pile accumulating inside. “Look at all of this crystal oxic acid. I can’t believe how much is falling...”
“Crystal oxic acid?” Enni said quizzically.
“An acid,” Keirkan explained, “Involves hydrogen. So this is two hydrogens, one oxygen.”
“Water,” Enni reasoned. “So it’s just plain snow.”
Suddenly the snow formed into a person. “Greetings from Neptune.”
“More aliens?!” Enni shouted. Getting lots of stares from random people. Wait they were probably already staring at the snowman.
“No, my master calls himself by the name Neptune,” the snowman explained.
“What does Neptune want?” Enni asked, taking the lead of the group as usual.
“He wants that Princess of yours,” the snowman said. “And he’s sent me to get her. You can either hand her over now, or we’ll destroy this entire train.”
Everyone started talking. Syla said, “I have faith in Enni–let her make the right decision.”
But Enni didn’t know what to do. Logically, though, the best thing to do would be to refuse and then somehow save everyone on the train. But how? Even with her power she could only rescue so many people in time. Wait, she had friends to help.
Finally, she answered. “I will fight you. Everyone, get these people off the train in whatever way you can. I’m gonna deal with Frosty.”
“Well, just by stopping me, you can’t stop us all,” the snowman cackled.
“I can cut off your message!” Enni shouted, picking up someone’s suitcase and bashing the snowman with it. “Melt and die!”
The snowman pelted her with snowballs, which she nimbly moved away from. But suddenly one hit her in the stomach. It was more than the cold, more than the impact. The snowball started to freeze her inside.
“You’re trying to make me one of you,” she spat. “Everyone has tried that for their own reasons by now, haven’t they? Arucar, now you... well, it didn’t work the first time. It won’t work now!” She swung the suitcase like a baseball bat, smashing into Frosty.
“You can’t stop the cold in the winter,” it answered. “You should have bundled up!”
The contents of the suitcase flew into the air, hitting the snowman again. One thing caught Enni’s eye–a battery operated hair dryer. She grinned and picked it up, pointing it like a gun. “Freeze!” she said, acting like a cop but sounding like a beast in her desperation. The truth was that the cold was setting in, and would probably freeze her up. “I guess it’s a little late to say that. Put your hands up! Oh, you don’t have hands. Ha! Take this!” She turned on the hair dryer on the hottest setting, thrusting it in Frosty’s face.
“No! I’m meeeltiiing!” it cried.
She grabbed the classic Frosty hat off the snowman’s head as it melted away, placing it on her own head. “This time, you’re not coming back again someday.”
She turned around, half wondering if, with the ice spreading inside her and the hat on her head, she was about to become Frosty herself.

There’s supposed to be a couple of other fight scenes, but they would be a little out of the Kurismius spirit. So we’ll skip to a few minutes later.
Enni opened her eyes. “What happened?” she asked, looking around at everyone around her. She was on the floor of the empty train.
Syla was sitting just at her side. “You almost froze to death. Keirkan had to amplify this hair dryer’s power just to keep you alive, but... your clothes still look like snow.”
Enni looked down at herself to see that Syla was right. But she was pretty sure she didn’t wear that kind of dress. It was all white and sparkly so it looked a bit like a wedding dress.
“The statistics say that somehow this hat also helped save you,” Keirkan added. “Do you think it really is the hat from that legendary children’s tale?”
Enni looked at it for a moment. It was a purplish grey hat with a black sash and a pink flower. It fit her memories of that little cartoon movie exactly. “Well, I’m going to hang onto it and wear it. I’ll consider it a... Kurismius gift from this Neptune. So Frosty is the same in Kurismius?”
“Yes, it’s one of the few traditions that’s perfectly identical,” Keirkan answered. Sorry that he gets so many lines but he lived on both planets for quite a while plus he’s got all the knowledge and information detection stuff from being a vamporg. So he knows a lot.
Enni stared at the hat for a few seconds, zoning out a bit. She blinked and suddenly was in a small dark area with only a vague awareness of standing on anything. An odd ghostlike figure stood across from her.
“I am the spirit trapped in the hat of Frosty the Snowman,” it proclaimed. “I was bound to it nearly one thousand years ago by the Ancient Legends of Morla.”
“How can I free you?” Enni asked.
“You must defeat me in fair combat,” it answered, and two swords dropped into the arena. Each took one.
“I don’t know how to use a sword,” Enni admitted.
“Neither do I,” the spirit said swinging it anyway.
She brought the heavy blade up to meet her opponent. These awkward little attacks formed into what might be thought of as a duel. And Enni won it.
“Thank you for saving me,” the spirit said at last. “I can finally be free to wander this world as a ghost, to watch the little children play not only in the winter. Jolly Kurismius to you.”
Jolly Kurismius to all, and to all a good fight. Er, I mean.

Blander
Gave up halfway on catching up with Sea of Bodies to read this story. Pretty good, if I do say so myself. Now I know about the Princess you keep referencing.

My only complaint is Out of character and story text aren't separated by some distinguishment. Usually, it's OK, but at some points it can get a bit confusing.

But, the story's good, and the music you chose is amazing. I knew Tales of Symphonia had amazing music, but I never got far enough in Baten Katios to really know how good it's music was.

And in response to something you said before, I'd pull for a story about Eli for obvious reasons. >_<

Okay so I had up to part 6 before, two posts that look like half-parts, and one Kurismius special. That's 8, which means PART 9 MIGHT BE SHOWING UP IN FRAGMENTED-PLOT FORM TODAY

Part 9: A Transition (Filler Explanations)

Okay I’m bored with train stuff so they finally got back to Michigan HOORAY
So, as they got there and back to the football field, they were pursued by the forces of, you know, Ein’s friends and such.
Keirkan and Noctus combined their powers to build a randomized-to-coherent-planet portal, and then everyone used what they could to blow up the football field as they went in.
Sucky description but I have to get all the way to Top’s Story and there’s a lot of ground to cover. There was already a part that talked about the place they’re at so if you forgot re-read that and now to skip to where we were at.

MISSION: ESCAPE INTO DARKNESS
(And yes, I know the source of this music is QUESTIONABLE at best.)

So the group split into different mini-groups. Enni was charged with the important job of getting the Princess out of the area. She grinned and picked Syla up, then boosted up towards the roofs of the buildings around.
Unfortunately, she was faced with enemies that could match her speed. “Enni, there’s mana in this place!” Syla shouted, casting varied spells at the attackers.
“Yeah, but everything’s light-based–I’m an Earth elemental, right?!” Enni desperately tried to find some terrain that seemed sort of normal. But it’s a world of light and darkness, so the norm is not quite applicable.
She flipped around several times dodging various shots and, more importantly, protecting the Princess. Suddenly something caught her eye, way down there.
Enni landed on top of a building, dashed across it and then shot straight down, smashing the ground with a huge force and breaking it into bits.
Rocky bits.
She kept running, gathering this around her with the power that she could muster. It was an amazing feeling she held as she dashed along the tight alleyways of the city.
After a minute or so she found herself moving in circles and running into her own dust. She spiraled further into the center of the city until the force began pulling everything inward. Enni had found a new method to enlarge the impact of her signature move: Earth Tornado.
She jumped straight up through its confines as everything around started to get pulled in. The Princess in her arms giggled and, unexpectedly, kissed her.
The two stared at each other for a long second.
“Sorry,” Syla said. “I don’t know what I was thinking.”
“That was amazing,” Enni replied, winking at her as she glided towards the nearest splotch of black around. “I’ve been thinking about you a while.”
“So... it’s okay that we’re both girls?” Syla said.
“Yeah,” Enni answered. “In my society it’s fairly acceptable, except among people who wouldn’t get past you being an alien long enough to think about it.”
Syla giggled. “Well, then we’ll just have to see how these people think.”
Enni grinned. “I love you, Syla.”
“We’ll talk later–there are people chasing us!” she pointed back.
“Then get ready, baby!” Enni reached into the depths of her power and blasted straight towards the darkened ground, blinding-speed attacks whizzing past her in a blur until they hit the ground at a run and smashed through a group of Light soldiers.
The area started to grey more until it became completely dark, past which the Light soldiers would no longer follow them. Mission accomplished.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWyVxJG-tAc
Enni just kept going until she was at the top of the highest Dark building, where she put her girlfriend down and smiled at her. “You know, Princess, I didn’t expect you to make a move.”
“I didn’t expect myself to ever be with you,” she answered. “I was too scared. But, back in my own world, my family was trying to match me up with some man, and that scared me too.”
“Is that why you ran away?” Enni asked.
“Well, no,” Syla said, hesitating for a while. “It was my uncle. And Guardian. I think they might want me dead so the crown doesn’t pass to the husband I would have. But I wouldn’t want to be in that position even if I did like one of those suitors.”
“So, you’d rather stay here with me?” Enni said hopefully.
“Yes,” Syla said. “My whole life I’ve been important, in control, living in that palace... I want to give all that up.”
“You’re trading that for me?”
“No, I’m pretty sure that I’d make this decision if you didn’t like me,” Syla informed her. “You did show me, though, that something about living in that world made you different. And I want to be like that, too. So that’s... the real reason I don’t want to go home.”
Enni nodded in understanding. “The others are probably worried about us. Ready to go back down there... in my loving arms?”
“Yes,” the Princess answered, smiling at her.

That night Clias got the group a room at the inn in return for their help.
“Enni?” Keirkan said. “Was destroying the place really necessary?”
“They attacked me the instant I got moving, of course it was,” she answered. “Which reminds me that I never asked you guys... what do you know about me and my dad?”
Noctus sat down next to her. “When I was very young, I met the man. His opinion on having children was very good for a long time. But one day he was separated from his friends, and... he was never the same. In fact, the women of our group hatched a plan so that he’d have a mysterious heir. Well, he wasn’t expecting that to be a daughter. And, there’s been a lot of time travel confusion as well, so it seems that before long you’ll be fighting him again, and finishing him off.”
She looked down. “I don’t want to kill my family.”
“But you will,” Noctus sighed. “The one thing about time travel is that it cannot change what happens; it can only help to explain it. That which happens, happens regardless.”
“He wouldn’t be in so much corruption,” Keirkan pointed out, “If it weren’t for the influence of the evil Count Bleah. Apparently Count Bleah came from another dimension along with somebody named Topmonhit, and Topmonhit was the only one who could defeat him.”
“That’s interesting...” Enni said. “I’d like to meet some of these people.”
Just then–well wait I don’t control The Cloud. CLOUD CAN YOU COME GET ENNI FOR ME? SHE’S SUPPOSED TO BE IN TOP STORY IN LIKE A FEW MINUTES ANYWAY... I THINK, THE TIME IS CONFUSING

No, don't.

I'm doing it!

Don't! You've caused enough trouble.

BUT HE'S ASKING ME!

So are you going to start going around and doing what people ask?

No. Otherwise I wouldn't be doing what you're asking. And why is it they can supposedly hear you, anyway? Anyway, SHAMBIZZLY YOW! Or something. *poofs Enni to Mars* Oops, that's not right. *poofs her to the dimension of mainness for us* *probably Keelhaul Key, but if not um whatever* Not like I was paying attention.

...

YOU DON'T KNOW ME! *poofs away*
