DONE WITH THE NEXT PART!

THE LOVE PLOT THICKENS!

Chapter 2-3: The New Fleet

RENTON SHIPYARDS- BATTLE ZONE

The battle over Renton continued to rage no, the focus now shifting over to the largest ship in the yards. It was a famed Yoshi Bodyguard YSS Windfish Class Command Vessel, one of the largest ships ever created, designed by Mexous Sniffin himself. All along the hull, boarding ships jutted out, and the glass sides of the ship shown with gunfire. The X-Nauts would take that ship, no matter what.

Suddenly, the gunfire stopped. The Windfish’s turrets then came to a halt, and it began to drift in space.

“Sir, the YSS Windfish is secure,” an X-Naut said over his com-link, “All cannons are now on standby, awaiting your orders.”

DOCKING PLATFORM EPSILON

Litera and Paper’s vessel listed off, leaving them and the crews on a ramp overlooking a heavily defended anti-ship cannon. Behind the mass of Tegan mechs and SWD Troopers, a single Leviathan Class Battlecruiser, a model similar to that of General Subsourian’s Nightwind IV, though lacking many of the mana based weaponry.

“There are far too many for us to take.” Litera said, looking through his rifle’s scope on the position below, “We’re going to have to use stealth.”

As they spoke, the cannon began to glow with a blue aura around its barrel. Then, out came a continuous beam, causing a shockwave that echoed through the depths of space. The beam rammed into the hull of the YSS Windfish, just above Platform Epsilon. The beam tore into its hull, leaving a gaping hold in the bottom.

The Windfish’s barrels then began to point down at the platform, and the sound of a charging energy cannon sounded, even from where Paper and Litera were standing.

“This can’t be good…” Paper stated.

The cannons fired, blasting through the SWD position, breaking through the platform. The engines that kept them floating above the planet’s surface flickered off, and the entire platform began to crack, then split into two pieces, Paper and Litera on one side, the Leviathan class Cruiser on the other.

“We have to go!” Paper shouted, “Run!”

Paper ignited a jetpack he modified into the back of his suit, and blew his way over the breaking platform. Litera and the X-Naut crew scrambled their way around the wreckage, and each attempted to jump the growing gap between the platforms. As the platform descended toward the planet, it began to push Paper further and further away. Litera and the rest of the crew were finally blown back by the velocity of the descending platform, and began to drift away.

“We’re descending too fast!” Paper said on the com-link, “We’re not going to make it! The gravity’s too strong”

”NO!” Litera shouted. Suddenly, he, the crew, and PMF were enveloped in runes of magic. They froze for a second, before disappearing completely.

When they reappeared, they were on the deck of the Leviathan Class Battlecruiser. Litera leaned against the wall, drained, but not tired.

“You can use magic?” Paper stated with awe, “You’ve never told any of us!”

“I dabble in it…” Litera muttered, “It’s not important now. We need this ship online before we crash into the surface of the planet!”

“On it!” said Paper. He sat in the command chair, and began to ignite the engines.

“Heat shields online, we’re disembarking. All aboard the USS Scientifically, Of Course!”

“The what?” One of the piloting X-Nauts said, “That’s the dumbest name I’ve ever he-“

“Shut up or you’re ejected!” snapped Paper, “What about you, Colonel? Aren’t you getting a ship?”

“I don’t need one,” said Litera, “Just go to the rendezvous point.”

With that, the Scientifically, Of Course moved toward the X-Naut position, breaking out of the orbit of Renton and under the battlefield that was Renton’s atmosphere.

DOCKING PLATFORM IOTA

The transports carrying Christopher and Teen Angst landed on the fringe of the platform, and dropped them and the crews off. Teen Angst was talking obnoxiously loud to Christopher as they stepped off.

“…And orange with brown striped? I mean, like, what is this? J-Pop is so out now adays!”

“For the millionth time, SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!” Christopher screamed, “You’re making me pull out hair I DON’T EVEN HAVE!”

“Whatever…” Teen Angst said, “Oh, look, Macy called me again! I hate her so much, but I’ll call her back saying I’m her best-“
From above a raised area on the platform, a group of SWD troopers, armed with a sniper rifle, looked down on the scene. One motioned toward Christopher and Teen Angst, both standing out by their size and shape. Teen Angst, being not biotic, was not wearing the space suits the X-Naut crew and Christopher were bound to.

One of the SWD troopers put a small, blue bullet into his rifle, and then set his aim at the group. He targeted Teen Angst. Then, he fired.

The bullet sparked with electrical energy as it sped toward the group. Christopher caught a glimpse of it just in time, as it sped toward the crew.

“Get down!” Christopher screamed, and the X-Nauts jumped to the ground, avoiding the EMP shockwave. Teen Angst was caught in her complaining, and directly hit by the EMP. She was blasted across the platform, her body sparking.

“NO!” Christopher yelled. He then looked over to the position of the snipers, and called down bolts of thunder, which were amplified from his suit and the movement of electricity in space. The snipers were blown off the platform, either dead or injured.

He ran to Teen Angst, whose eyes were closed. Christopher looked around, panicking. This wouldn’t be good. If she would die, it would go out of his pay. He’d be responsible; he was to help her get the pilots to the ships.

He turned Teen Angst over, sighed. The blast only turned her “on” switch off. He pondered just leaving her there, but then flipped it on. Her eyed began to glow as they reactivated.

“OMG!” She said, shouting every letter as a word, “You saved me!”

“Oh, God, why didn’t you just die!” Christopher moaned.

“You’re my new BFF!” She said, “My BFF Christopher!”

”And what, dare I ask, does that mean?”

“Boyfriend forever!” Teen Angst gleefully shouted.

Christopher’s eye twitched for a second, the he lightly put Teen Angst down. He walked away, slowly, and then started off in a sprint, screaming at the top of his lungs. The X-Nauts sighed, and walked on toward the ships.

Christopher arrived at a large SWD Tempest Class Vessel, a newer model used to launch drone-controlled spacecraft at their targets. Christopher nodded, then walked in, trying to look cool for the crews as he claimed his ship.

Christopher sat down in the captain’s chair, and then reviewed the specs for the ship. High velocity… Nice weapons… The drones were a nice perk, as well. He typed in the name Christopher’s Fire in the ship’s naming protocol, and then leaned back in his chair.

“Is it the fire of your love for me?” Said Teen Angst, sitting in a chair beside him.

“EHBAHA- How did you get in here?”

”I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth, my Jamey-wamsey,” Teen Angst smiled at him, “I’ll be with you forever.”

“No, you’ll be OFF OF THIS SHIP!” Christopher pressed a button on the control pad, and Teen Angst’s chair was launched into a hole that opened up underneath it. Christopher smiled as Teen Angst floated by the front of his ship, mouthing something. With that, Christopher took off for the X-Naut’s position.

Teen Angst continued to float, until she ran back into the artificial gravity of Docking Platform Iota. She landed next to the second group of pilots, who were around a Setting Sun Class Vessel. These were Magi-tech vessels capable of dimensional recall at a moment’s notice, a rare sight indeed.

”Come on, I guess you’re with us,” one of the Pilots said.

Teen Angst floated in, then plopped herself in the captain’s chair. Screen’s popped up in front of her, most of which she couldn’t understand.

“This vessel has hundreds of capabilities, but the dimensional recall is reserved for those who know how to navigate through slipspace on hundreds of planes,” said one of the X-Nauts, “You need to be versed in hundreds of-“

“Does this thing get Facebook?” Teen Angst said, slightly bored. In front of her, the name-change protocol came up.

“Would I like to change the ship’s name? Totally!”

“NAME REGISTERED: TOTALLY” the computer stated.

“No- wait, I-“ But before she could speak, the X-Naut co-pilots had set a course for the rendezvous point.

X-NAUT RENDEVOUS POINT – OUTER ORBIT OF RENTON

The Battle of Renton was over in about five hours. Different ships had been liberated from the shipyards, ranging from the smaller transport vessels to one of the largest ships known to the Alliance of Worlds, the YSS Windfish. The shipyards were quiet; all defenders were either dead or surrendered to the X-Nauts. The Totally and the Christopher’s Fire were on their way, while the Sylloderriga Jet Mk V, the Raptor, the EHUSGHVY26UJ79/:blunderface, the Scientifically, Of Course, and about fifty other ships were lined up, prepared for the next order.

Admiral Stalvick stood on the bridge, staring at his new fleet. Even before Crump had destroyed their armies at Chronis, the fleet had never reached this size… He wondered how long this could last.

“Admiral, we are tracking a large fleet of SWD ships that have just come out of hyperspace.” TEC-X3 stated, showing a massive fleet on the map.

“Ah, these must be the reinforcements Colonel Litera warned us about,” Stalvick said, “All units, prepare your ships to battle the intruders.”

Suddenly, on everyone’s screen, a mass of nearly one hundred SWD ships appeared. Each were surrounded by support fighters and Tegans, all armed to the teeth with nearly every armament possibly imaginable.

“I knew I should have stayed in bed this morning,” said Eli.

Nice one. I hadn't thought of magical attacks in terms of mana-based weaponry--when you put it that way, fusing the two concepts seems much easier. Also, nice last line right there. I'm so proud.

They kinda... Did. Cue the next chapter, which I'm in the process of making.

WOHO! ACTUAL SPACE BATTLE THAT USES REAL SCI-FI LOGIC!

And Teen Angst... I kinda based it off the female teenage instinct to make a boyfriend of the most random situations.

But... Ya. Been busy of late.

Chapter 2-4: Birds of War

X-NAUT FLEET POSITION – HIGH ORBIT RENTON

The SWD Fleet finally materialized in full force in front of the X-Naut position. The ships moved forward toward the X-Naut position, outnumbering the newly formed fleet. At it’s front was a Minerva Class Battleship, one of the newer models of flagships, armed with four turbolaser batteries and a dreaded Combo Cannon. Stalvick watched this from the bridge of the Defender of Heroes, and lit the cigar in his mouth. This would be a long one…

“Admiral, we are being hailed by the SWD flagship, Twilight of Hope.” TEC-X3’s voice sounded through the bridge. In front of Stalvick, a hologram of a Birdo, dressed in the colors and stripes of an SWD general.

“Well now, I’m not sure which terrorist organization you all are from, but I advise you to back down. Now.” The general’s voice was stern and resolute, “I’m General Birdross of the Star World Armada, and in the name of the Counsel, I order you to surrender your forces immediately and unconditionally.”

“Ah, General Birdross,” Stalvick said to the hologram in front of him, “I expected your forces to arrive sooner. You should know that we represent not some pathetic terror cell, but the combined might of the Secret Society of the X-Nauts.”

“X-Nauts?” Birdross said, shocked, “You mean to tell me we were ambushed by X-Nauts?”

“That is correct, General.” Said Stalvick, “We are here to take control of this sector and it’s occupants in the name of Sir Grodus.”

“Over my dead body,” said Birdross, “I don’t care who you are, son. No one messes with Star World on my watch. All units, fire at will!”

The SWD vessels propelled themselves forward, toward the X-Naut ships. Their turrets fired at the X-Naut ships at random, some of the shots directly hitting ships. The X-Nauts retaliated, blasting away with their weapons, though still getting used to their ships.

“AHHHHHH!” Amphy moved the EHUSGHVY26UJ79/:blunderface out of the way of a line of shots. The Federation transport slowly lurked downward, designed for armor as opposed to speed. Amphy pressed buttons on his keypad at random, trying to do something.

Missiles launched from the front of the EHUSGHVY26UJ79/:blunderface, bombarding one of the ships with plasma fire. The ship, a Blade Class Vessel, ignited in a flare as the scolding plasma hit its oxygen tanks. The Blade Class ship slowly descended planetward, burning in the atmosphere of Renton.

The Scientifically, Of Course moved closer into the battle, it’s secondary batteries warding off attacking Tegans. Paper locked onto a large Cyber Bell Vanguard Vessel, flagging itself as Raging Dawn.

“Activate the primary batteries!” Paper shouted to the crew, “On my mark… fire!”

With that, a beam propelled itself from the Scientifically, Of Course, and blasted into the hanger bay, destroying the Tegan mechs in dock. The blast blew through the side of the ship, hitting several decks. Debris flew out from its side.

Paper relished in his victory, but it was not long before an explosion rocked his ship as well. Looking at his status, one of his primary batteries, and his entire left wing, had been knocked out.

“What happened?” Paper shouted, “What hit us?”

“Sir!” Stammered one of the X-Nauts, “Their flagship has hit us with a direct turbolaser round!”

”We’re going to have to fall back, someone cover us!” Paper shouted over the communication link.

“Acknowledged.” Eli’s voice came through on the com-link.

“Yea, yea, whatever.” That voice came from Christopher. Within minutes, their two ships moved forward into the SWD position.

“Avoid the capitol ship, we’ll get that later.” Eli ordered from the bridge of the Sylloderriga Jet Mk V, “Now it’s time for some fancy flying, boys!”

The Sylloderriga Jet Mk V, dropped below another Blade Class Starcruiser, and pointed its cannons upward. Eli ignited his boosters, and fired a constant round, piercing the hull of the SWD ship. Eli pulled ahead, as the enemy vessel began to fall towards Renton.

“How are we doing?” Eli asked one of the pilots.

”Hull stability at 75%, we’re taking heavy fire, but we’ll manage.”

“Aye, how about you, Christopher?”

”Me? I’m going to take out the dang mothership!” Christopher shouted over the comlink.

“Wait, no! Christopher! It’s too dangerous! Wait for the Windfish to attack that? Do you hear me? Christopher!”

But Christopher had already pulled ahead from Eli, and the sides of Christopher’s Fire opened up. Ten drone ships flew out at high speeds, outmaneuvering even the versatile Tegan mechs. One mech attempted to tail a drone, only to have it somersault, and fire three bursts of plasma down it’s back.

Christopher toggled with the drone control, and ordered it to attack the Twilight of Hope’s bridge. Drones strafed the surface of the massive ship, firing at the metal plating. However, within two minutes, the Hope’s turrets had downed four of the ten drones.

Then the turbolasers turned towards Christopher’s Fire. Before he knew it, they fired; ramming energy bursts through the hull of the drone ship.

“We’re at critical, sir!” Shouted the pilot, “Estimated 35% hull capacity! We’re leaking oxygen from everywhere!”

“We’re going to take down that ship! Concentrate fire on its bridge!”

“Sir, all drones are already concentrated! Hull capacity at 30%! The ship’s charging it’s primary cannon!”

The Twilight of Hope’s Combo Cannon had already aimed at Christopher’s Fire, and was beginning to charge. So this was the end, Christopher thought, it was all over… And he wouldn’t even get paid…

Suddenly, Christopher’s ship was enveloped in a blue light. Everything began to slow down, and outside the ship became distorted to the point where everything became black. Then, reality reappeared, and Christopher’s Fire was behind X-Naut lines, the Totally next to his ship.

“See, I, like, told you I could work this thing!” Teen Angst shouted, “This Dimensional Physical re-whatchamacallit is, like, easy!”

“It worked!” said the pilot in awe, “It worked! And no timeline distortion! Amazing!”

“Oh God, not YOU AGAIN!” Christopher shouted, “I’ve had enough of you!”

”Even after I just, like, saved your life, my BFF?” But Christopher was already ramming his head against the control panel; a sobbing was heard through the com-link.

Back at the frontlines, the Combo Cannon had missed Christopher’s Fire, but hit the YSS Windfish on its broadside. Its massive triangular shape was scared by the massive gap, and several docks were broken off and floating as debris.

“That damn fool!” Eli yelled, “Amphy, we’re going to have to move on the capitol ship! We can’t have that cannon online!”

”Lemme think about that…” Amphy pondered, “NO! We’ll be torn to shreds! Those guns are too powerful!”

Suddenly, out of nowhere, two rockets rammed into the side of the Combo Cannon, which was in a state of cool down. The cannon blew into fragments, and floated off into space.

The vague shape of the Raptor was made strafing across the side of the Twilight of Hope, but, just as fast, the stealth ship vanished.

“I swear, that guy freaks me out…” Amphy said aloud the com-link.

TWILIGHT OF HOPE – BRIDGE

Birdross and his crew reeled from the impact of the Raptor. Several of the crew were knocked out of their seats, Birdross included. The ship began to lean towards Renton, as the thrusters stalled out, but soon after the backup power generators corrected the fault.

“What hit us?” Birdross yelled.

“Sir, the Combo Cannon and three of four turbolaser batteries are offline!”

“Damnation! We still have the advantage! Pull all ships forward, finish off these upstarts!” Birdross sent the order to all of his ships, but not before another transmition interrupted him.

“Sir! The enemy flagship has taken its reserve ships on our outer flank! We’re being gunned down!”

DEFENDER OF HEROES – BRIDGE

Admiral Stalvick sat in the command chair, and watched his plan fall into place. The SWD fleet was not expecting them to pull their reserves forward. One by one, the outer ships were being wiped out by the onslaught from his side’s long-range artillery, and were soon closing in with medium and short-range shots.

“Check and mate.” Admiral Stalvick smiled, and leaned back in his chair.

“Couldn’t have come a moment sooner, sir!” Eli said, relived, “We’ve got them on the run.”

HIGH ORBIT RENTON – TWO HOURS LATER

The newly acquired X-Naut fleet held it’s ground above Renton, reforming before it moved out. The SWD ships had fled, but the cost was high. The X-Naut’s crown prize, the YSS Windfish Class Vessel, was the primary target for plasma bombardments, and suffered permanent hull damage. Christopher’s Fire was barely salvageable, and tech crews worked to fix it aboard the Defender of Heroes. The Raptor and the Totally were the only ships to come out unscathed; the Raptor’s stealth drives preventing any vessel targeting it and the Totally remaining behind X-Naut lines.

Stalvick stood at the bridge, a hologram of Grodus next to him.

“Admiral, Renton’s orbital platforms have been destroyed, and it seems General Birdross has withdrawn his forces from this quadrant” TEC-X3 stated, “We have impressed most of the remaining ships and defensive forces into the fleet, and are prepared for the next step in our invasion.”

“With a new fleet, we now need to play our first hand,” Grodus’s hologram said, “Though our plans on Star World are going as scheduled, now we must pay Doctor Robotnick a visit. We shall see what he knows about the emeralds, and if he can pinpoint their location. You know what must be done, Toris”

“As ever, Grodus,” Stalvick stated, reactivating the com-link, “All ships, set your courses for Mobius!”

Nearly a week has passed since the Battle of Renton ended in one sixth of the SWD Fleet being captured or destroyed. Grodus has already set his plans in motion, and has taken the planet Popstar by storm, attacking their local tyrant, King Dedede. However, other factions have joined in the hunt for the emerald. Posing the greatest threat to the Secret Society is Doctor Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, who had slipped a small force past the SWD Defenders and ambushed the Yoshi Bodyguards at Top’s house, and now has the location of the Yoshi Bodyguard’s hidden emerald.

The X-Nauts have lost their element of surprise. Attempting to turn the tide back in their balance, Grodus has ordered Stalvick to go to Mobius and find whatever research Robotnik has on the emeralds, and attempt to find a way to locate them from vast distances in space. However, they soon find that another force has their eyes set on Mobius…

Chapter 3-1: Metal Clash

OUTER EDGE OF MOBIUS STAR SYSTEM – 22 AU FROM MOBIUS

The X-Naut fleet, under Admiral Stalvick, floated in deep space outside of Mobius. They were still waiting for the rest of the fleet to finish their jump out of hyperspace. Sitting on the bridge, Stalvick looked over the last probes that came back from Mobius. The prognosis was grim.

“It seems that, once again, the Metal Army has beaten us to the target. Already, three legions have established bases in the southern hemisphere.” Stalvick sat back in his chair, head in his hands. “And now the Galactic Federation has arrived in an attempt to stop the invasion… This operation just got a whole lot harder.”

“There is good news, sir.” Litera said. Litera seemed to be by his side a lot. It began to annoy Stalvick, but as he had said before, he was too valuable to give up.

“And what would that be, Litera?”

“This chaos is the perfect cover for the operation. One of Doctor Eggman’s primary bases, known as the Scrap Brain Zone, has been a site for attacks by the Metal Army’s Zinc Legion, one of the smaller take-and-hold Legions of the army. No doubt, with the Federation and Mobius’s GUN Taskforces diverted on finding the emeralds while preventing invasion, it will be a simple matter of overcoming the base’s defenders and warding off the Zinc Legion long enough to claim what data we seek.”

“You seem to know a lot about the Metal Army, Colonel.” Stalvick mused.

“Well, I have served in three major campaigns against the Metal menace in my time in the SWD. Know your enemy, if you’re going to survive.”

“Indeed,” said Stalvick, nodding, “We will prepare a strike force to take Scrap Brain Zone.”

CHAPTER 3: THE SECRET OF MOBIUS

LOW STRATOSPHERE MOBIUS - SCRAP BRAIN ZONE OUTSKIRTS

The massive industrial metropolis that was the Scrap Brain Zone laid out before the dropships that sped over it. The smokestacks around the city were upturned, buildings bombs down to their bare foundations. In the “streets,” or the gaps between the factories, gunfire and explosions could be seen. The Metal Army was advancing, but Eggman’s defenders would not give up without a fight.

Around the dropship, Christopher, Paper, and Ripvor sat, waiting to be dropped off at their target.

”Quite a light show they have going on down there,” said Christopher, looking out the transport window, “Explain to me again why we can’t just use our ships to blow this place to oblivion?”

“It’d cause too much attention,” Paper answered, “We’re to just get in, and get out. That’s it.”

From the ground below, a loud screeching of a fired rocket echoed through the battle scene, and even out sounded the roar of the transport’s engines. Right next to them, a transport was impacted, and it combusted, falling in altitude to the ground below. From around them, Metal Army Zaku fliers were trailing their transports, firing shots to bring them down. The dropship began to rumble.

“We’re hit!” The X-Naut pilot shouted, “We’re going down! Brace for impact!”

The dropship began to loose altitude, Christopher grabbing onto the side of the transport to sustain himself. Paper seemed worried, even through his Shy Guy mask. Only Ripvor seemed perfectly calm and quiet.

The transport impacted the ground, and skidded. The of the occupants of the cabin were thrown around, but the heavy armor of the hull prevented any serious damage from the drop. All around them, the sounds of laser and gunfire could be heard.

“We’re busting out!” Christopher shouted, “Everyone out!”

Christopher opened the hatch, and just barely missed being incinerated by a laser that sped by the door. He jumped back in, stunned by the near-death experience.

“Daleks…” Paper said, “One of the Metal Army’s most powerful units. They must mean business, deploying them here.”

“Go!” Ripvor shouted, motioning toward the hatch.

The X-Nauts in the dropship poured out into the scene, followed by Ripvor and Paper, Christopher close behind, still shaken. Outside, Eggman’s footsoldier Badniks, the base “Bug” class infantry, were holding off the Daleks in a fierce gun battle. What the small, around Bugs lacked in strength, they had in sheer numbers, driving off the saltshaker looking Daleks from advancing.

“INTRUDERS HAVE BEEN LOCATED.” Screeched one of the Dalek Commanders, pointing his eyepiece at the X-Naut crash site, “EX-TER-MIN-ATE THEM!”

“Not on my watch, Pepper shaker!” Christopher shot a thunderbolt from his cheeks at one of the Daleks, which simply dissipated in their energy shields. The Daleks fired back at Christopher, who narrowly avoided it. The shots disengaged parts of the dropship’s hull, burning massive holes through the layers of metal.

Ripvor jumped up in the air, and came down on one of the Daleks, claws extended. The shields again repelled him, blasting him back. He recovered, landing on his feet, and charged again. The energy shield again simply reflected his claws.

”RESISTANCE IS FU-TI-LE.” The commanding Dalek said, “WE WILL EX-TER-MIN-ATE THESE INFERIOR ROBOTS, AND TAKE THEM IN THE NAME OF THE METAL EMPIRE. ORGANIC INTRUDERS WILL NOT IN-TER-FIER!”

Suddenly, a shot hit the commanding Dalek right in its eye socket, and the robot was blasted apart. Paper stood, his blaster smoking.

“They’re weak in the eyes! Get them there!” Paper shouted, avoiding a retaliation shot.

Ripvor jumped towards a Dalek, and stabbed him in the eye with his tail, causing him to short-circuit and explode. Meanwhile, Christopher began shooting precise thundershocks to their eyes, essentially stunning them. The group fought on, but more and more Daleks came floating in, followed by Zakus and Dom Brutes.

“There’s too many of them!” shouted Paper, blasting apart another Dalek, “We’ll be overrun soon!”

“No.” Ripvor simply stated, slicing a Dom Brute’s chest piece open. But indeed, the group was being overrun, the Metal Army taking note of their arrival, and putting the organics at top priority. Soon, the entire square was filled with the Zinc Legion…

SOMEWHERE IN SPACE – NEAR POPSTAR

Doctor Eggman watched from the seat of his carrier, appalled, as his Scrap Brain Zone was being overrun by Metal Army Forces. Different views appeared on his screens of the Metal Army breaking through the outer perimeter of the industrial zone, decimating his forces, destroying his factories…

”Those idiots! They’ll ruin everything! As if I didn’t have enough to worry about in finding the emeralds!” Eggman shouted, his robots near him taking note. He leaned over his control panel, pondering. There was a way to ward them off, to keep them away from his production facilities and research labs… But his secret weapon would be ruined.

“I’m at my limit. I have no choice!” Eggman began tapping on his keypad. He’d get rid of these Metal pests, and he could continue with his work at finding the emeralds.

SCRAP BRAIN ZONE – OUTER PERIMETER

The three continued to fight for their lives against the Metal tide, stabbing at Daleks, Zakus, and the occasional Dom Brute. Only half of the X-Naut force were standing, some were dead, some injured. The Badniks had vanished, falling back to their central base.

A rumbling was heard, and all heads, metal and organic, toward the center of the base. Several lights began to spark on, shining in the distance, and a massive satellite dish rose from the ground. Below it, the shimmering of an energy shield could be made out. The satellite lit up, and began to turn.

For about three long seconds, nothing happened. Then, one by one, the Metal footsoldiers limped over, their eye’s glow shutting off. Then, the fell, one by one, until every Metal soldier in the sight of the X-Nauts were deactivated.

“What the…” Christopher began, but they all were speechless. No one knew what just happened. All they could do was look around, thank whatever God they believed in for their survival, and stare toward the strange relay that appeared before them.
