Technically, the guests stars are the heroes. >_< But it stars Grodus. Not exactly the hero, but the protagonist. I kinda wanted to do that, since no one writes from the "bad guy's" perspective.

And does anyone really want a summary/author's notes? I'll do it if anyone will actually read it. I know I sometimes decide to overlook them.

And if you don't understand the ending... Think Thousand Year Door. But I digress. This didn't exactly turn out how I wanted, but eh, it's OK.

Epilogue: The Rise of the X-Nauts

CITADEL OF ULTIMA – CENTRAL CONTROL/THRONE ROOM

Grodus sat on a massive metal throne-like chain, his new body’s robes draping down, and giving him a king-like appearance. His chair was turned around, and he was looking at the massive mainframe to the Master AI. In place of the former terminal was a larger, more bulky terminal. Technicians were working on hooking it up to the central processor. At the terminal’s head, TEC-X3’s eye lit up.

One of the technicians turned to Grodus, a holodisk in his hand.

“Sir, TEC-X3 has accessed the primary data files. Should we… Do it now?” he said.

“Yes, activate the Citadel into its finished form,” said Grodus, Order TEC-X3 to initiate the personal-AI override process.”

“Acknowledge, my lord.” TEC-X3’s main terminal screen blinked on, and lines of text appeared on his screen.

OUTSIDE THE CITADEL

Music

The entire surface of the planet rumbled, ad the central citadel rose from the ashened ground of Alinos. The black, central pyramid revealed itself to be much larger, as different levels and sub-levels rose to the sky.

Then, four outer turrets broke from the crust, unearthing the ground and the mountains. The ruined Metal Army base now seemed like a small town, as walls appeared around it. Then, from the inner rim of the town, a large dome rose, slowly encasing the central citadel. Towers formed around that dome, turning the once disheveled base into a massive fortress.

All around the citadel, turrets rose, making outer walls, with hundreds of turrets and cannons lining it. The citadel was large. The citadel was deadly.

The citadel was all but invincible.

SYLLODERRIGA JET MK VI – LEAVING ALINOS ORBIT

The Sylloderriga slowly drifted away from the planet, departing from the massive X-Naut fleet that floated over the planet. The ship seemed different, modified from its capture at Renton.

Inside, Eli sat at the controls, slowly navigating the ship. A soft rock song played as he sipped from a glass bottle of a low-grade alcohol. At his feet, large metal cases sat, three piles stocked with Star World coins, sat. It was enough to buy him whatever he wanted: a new ship, a house, and heck, maybe even enough supplies to give him his own robot army.

Behind him, massive hulks of dead Metal Army mechas and spare parts, specifically from their champions, were lined up. These were prefect materials for him. He was fit for supplies for a long while. Maybe he’d make a great robot of his own…

Eli had changed the entire appearance and identification codes of his ship, and fittingly changed the version to “Mk VI.” The SWDF were probably looking for their ship, and he didn’t want any suspicions where he was going.

He’d go to Star World, like he told Paper. He was going to miss the Conscripts, and even the X-Nauts. He had spent the last few months with them, and they seemed like family now. Still, he needed to find the Yoshi Bodyguards. Maybe then he’d find why he was here.

And so Eli drifted on, thumbing the necklace around his neck, and drifted into the black uncertainty that was his future.

EHUSGHVY26UJ79/:BLUNDERFACE AND CHRISTOPHER’S FIRE – LEAVING ALINOS’S ORBIT

As fast as they could, the Blunderface and Christopher’s Fire sped from the orbit of Alinos. None of the X-Nauts stopped them, but they were anxious to get out.

“Back to Pokeworld with our haul!” Christopher shouted into the intercom. Behind him, were the boxes of coins, as well as hundreds of mechas, parts, ammunition, and tech. Oddly enough, they seemed to be as much from the X-Nauts as from the Metal Army.

“Yea, but why do I get the bombs?” said Amphy. Behind him, were several crates of explosives. Out in the open, set upright, was more than one miniature nuclear bomb, taken from Metal Army champions like Sinanju.

“Hey, those nukes sell for a big buck!” Christopher responded.

“Yea, to who?” said Amphy, “What use does any Pokemon have for a massive city destroying bomb?”

“…SHUT UP!” Christopher shouted, then, looking at his radar, his eyelids raised, “AND HURRY!”

The two ships streamed off, behind them, at a much slower pace, was the Totally.

“Like, wait up Chrissy!” Teen Angst yelled. Frustrated, he started messing with the controls of her ship.

“Uggg… Where’s, like, the fast button!” Then, Teen Angst pressed a small button with a lightning bolt symbol.

The Totally was engulfed in a blue dimensional rift. This one threw the ship threw both time and space, hurdling it into an unguided direction. Someday, somewhere, the Totally and Teen Angst would reappear.

But that is a story for another day…

RAPTOR – LEAVING ORBIT OF ALINOS

Ripvor sat at the controls, looking at a holographic map of the galactic cluster. The ship had an autopilot, and he now had the funds and the ability to return home.

Ripvor had a large pile of cases filled with coins, as well as others we “acquired” from other X-Nauts. Several other valuables lined the floor of the craft. He had done his job, and was rewarded handsomely. Now, he could return home.

Ripvor focused the holographic map on Rareworld. He would go home, back to his people. Then he might get revenge on the bigheaded monsters that had captured him on Fahr Outpost. Maybe even come back, after all, that emerald seemed pretty valuable…

The Raptor vanished, as its cloaking device activated, and it sped into lightspeed, off to Ripvor’s future.

PREPARING CODE: OVERRIDE… UPLINKING TO FELLED METAL ARMY SOLDIERS ON THE FIELD…

ALINOS FIELD – OUTSIDE THE CITADEL OF ULTIMA

The Metal Army hulks laying in the field, destroyed by the AI Disruptor’s influence, began to shift again. Their eyes lit up, with a green color as opposed to red.

Then, they rose again, Zakus, Brutes, Gelgoogs. Even many of the Steel Legion, felled in the battle for the citadel, rose with their comrades. They turned toward the citadel, and gazed upon its massive shape.

All around the planet, the several million Metal Army troopers deactivated rose, now controlled by the Ultimate AI. Then, they all shouted a single cry.

“All hail Lord Grodus! All hail Lord Grodus! ALL HAIL LORD GRODUS!”

WHIRL'S LABORATORY - MOBIUS

All around Whirl's lab, Yoshi Bodyguard ships were set. The Great Panaj drifted over the planet, battle scarred from it's fight in the Holocate system. Yoshi Bodyguard Clone Troopers patroled the lab, looking for any sign of intruders.

In front of the lab, Whirl, Evelyn, Glerk, and Metal Chaos stood, facing Coshi and Jet Gundam.

"Sir, the lab is secure," said Jet Gundam, "We've orders to return to Star World ASAP."

"Well, this is where we say goodbye," says Coshi, "Lotta hell we've gone through recently."

"I cannot thank you enough," said Whirl, "Without you, the X-Nauts would have certainly killed us."

"Yea, in the nick of time," said Glerk, "So where are you going from here?"

"I got a kid coming soon," said Coshi, "I've been away for too long. I don't wanna keep my Plasshi worried." He then turned to look a Evelyn, hanging on Whirl's shoulder, then back to Whirl, "You keep her close, she seems to care about you. When I come back, I expect it to be for a wedding."

"Wha- But, I-" Whirl stammered, while Evelyn only smiled.

Coshi laughed, turning away with Jet Gundam. The Clons Troopers around them horded into the dropships, which took off, leaving Whirl's group on Mobius, and preparing to leave for Star World.

SCIENTIFICALLY, OF COURSE – LEAVING ORBIT OF ALINOS

Paper sat on the bridge of the Scientifically, Of Course. He waited to see the rest of the Conscripts leave, going their own ways, before deciding to depart. He moved his ship, slowly moving away from Alinos and the X-Nauts. These past months were long, dangerous, and painful. But, then again, he had met good friends, and defeated a threat to the universe.

Paper drifted away, but unlike the others, he had no set plan on where to go. He decided just to drift onward. Maybe he’d find some new adventure, and meet new people. Maybe he’d just drift off, floating away into oblivion.

Only time would tell…

So ends Grodus’s ascension to power, but this story is far from over. The Metal Wars continue on, and Grodus waits until both the forces of good and evil are weakened by the conflict. And the treachery of Omega, Litera, and Doctor Albert will continue, playing for the interests of the Metal Army.

And as for the loyal Conscripts? Their stories are the farthest from over. The universe is a large, strange place, filled with adventures and mysteries. There are battles to be fought, lands to be saved, and secrets to be revealed.

But, for now, this tale has reached its conclusion.

THE END

I forgot to mention that TEC-XX is now the Cyber Bell Vanguard's HQ supercomputer when they merged the old X-Naut's base with the CBV HQ.
