Short part, but this was the one part of the last chapter I never really planned. The next one will be better, if the chapter name is any indication.

Well, at least it'll be different.

Chapter 7-2: Breaking the Beachhead

METAL ARMY ALINOS BASE – SOUTHERN POSITION

Teen Angst and Ripvor were shaken, as their Dropship came to a halt. They had just hit their objective, now it was time for them to move.

“So, like, what are we doing?” Teen Angst inquired.

“We’re gonna disable the Metal Army turrets. Hit the mainframe somewhere nearby.” Ripvor muttered.

The hatch to their Dropship creaked open, revealing a massive battle scene. X-Nauts had dug into a trench, while the Metal Army stood above them, on large turrets firing down on their position, while various troopers of the Metal Army, mostly Dalek, fired down on them. The turrets were surrounded by blackened ash, but oddly enough, they weren’t scathed at all.

A rocket blasted into Teen Angst and Rivpor’s Dropship, blowing them out of it into the field. Rivpor landed on his feet, while Teen Angst was planted into the ashy soil of Alinos.

Ripvor grabbed Teen Angst, and ran into the trench. X-Nuats were lined up, firing on the Metal Army position. The trench was taking heavy fire, but was safer then out in the open.

A rocket from a nearby Magnus hit one of the turrets. The blast left a massive hole in the side, and scorched the metal on the base. However, oddly enough, the turret reformed itself, almost turning into a liquid like substance before finally returning to its original shape.

“Sir!” said one of the X-Nauts, “These turrets aren’t being affected by anything we hit them with! The mainframe must be pumping them full of energy somehow!”

”Nanobots…” muttered Rivpor.

“What about Nano? Like an Ipod?” said Teen Angst.

“Nanobots are billions of tiny robots,” said Ripvor, “They can reform at will. We need to kill the mainframe. Come on.”

Before Teen Angst could say anything, Ripvor grabbed her, and jumped out of the trench. Ripvor jumped on top of one of the turrets, and stabbed it’s top with his tail, causing it to temporarily meld away. Ripvor then kicked the headpiece off a nearby Dalek, before vanishing to avoid several shots.

He reappeared further down the Metal Army position, where he sliced off the head of another Dalek. The turret turned to face him, when he vanished again, appearing behind the turret and taking out a Zaku standing by with a tear of his claws.

“Like, look out!” Teen Angst screamed as a rocket nearby hit them. Ripvor vanished again, appearing on the Dom Brute that fired it. He impaled the massive metal beast with his tail, causing it to kneel and collapse on the ground.

Ripvor vanished again, this time appearing next to a large building with radar dishes on top of it. Four turrets locked onto Ripvor, and fired. He just had time to reappear behind a rock, holding Teen Angst tight.

“If I move out of here, they’ll lock onto me and hit…” Ripvor muttered, “I have to get by them somehow…”

Just then, an obnoxiously loud noise came from Teen Angst, causing Ripvor to cover his ears in pain.

Around him, the turrets began to destabilize, their nanobots beginning to come apart under the sonic power, but still somewhat obtaining their form. Teen Angst seemed unaffected.

“Oh, sorry!” said Teen Angst, “That’s, like, my totally awesome new ringtone! I should answer that, Deborah probably wants a new-”

“NO!” Rivpor grabbed Teen Angst gain, and ran straight for the mainframe in the center of the four nanobot turrets while they were still destabilized. Ripvor slammed the door behind him, just as the sound ended, and Teen Angst answered her phone.

“Hello? Deborah?” said Teen Angst, “I’m, like, good! I’m just in a massive battle that chooses the fate of the universe. You mean they have a 40% discount at the Yoshioplis mall? I love that place!”

Teen Angst continued on, while Ripvor went further into the mainframe. It was quiet, no Metal Army forces here, for fear they may break something. Massive screens lined one wall, showing the status of the many turrets surrounding the base. One computer in the center was on, and showed a message. Ripvor bent over and read.

”STATUS REPORT TO LORD ULTRA STUFFWELL:

Alinos assimilation: 49%- Most life forms have been converted from organic to basic metal materials. Alimbic artifacts have been transferred and studied, though highly unlikely any use will be found.
Omega Status: Standby- Hibernation cycle is full, and AI still processing all information surrounding his cell.
Troop Garrison: Full- Steel, Granite, Copper, and Bronze Legions all set up and ready. No evidence to suggest the secrecy of base is compromised.
Ultimate AI Project:…

CODE PLATNIUM SECURITY IN PLACE. PLEASE ENTER ACCESS CODE TO PROCEED FURTHER.”

Teen Angst was still talking loudly, when Ripvor nodded. It didn’t make much sense to him, and he didn’t know much about computers, so it really didn’t interest him. He pulled several explosive charges, and set them on the computer terminals. Then, he flipped the detonator in his hand.

“We’re leaving,” he told Teen Angst, grabbing her and jumping out the door, just as he pressed the detonator.

The explosion blasted apart the Nanobot mainframe, turning it into smoking rubber. The turrets began to melt away, forming pools of cool, liquid metal. An X-Naut battlecry was heard, as they ran from the trench into the few Metal Army soldiers that remained on the southern position.

“This is Ripvor,” Ripvor muttered into his com-link, “Mission accomplished.”

Yay! My first non-serious part!

FOR SANITY'S SAKE: The script format is singing, and novel is speaking. And Christopher = James, according to PMF.

And this = Sinanju

Chapter 7-3: Metal Army Musical

METAL ARMY ALINOS BASE – SOUTHERN INDUSTRIAL ZONE

The Dropship sped off into the distance, leaving Amphy and Christopher down in the alleyways of hundreds of factory buildings. The two looked walked slowly through the paths, seeing the corpses of the deactivated Metal Army littered everywhere from the AI Disruptor, and all factories were shut down.

They were alone, thank whatever God was listening. All they could hear was the distant booming of battle

“So…” Amphy interjected, “What are we doing here again? Everything seems to be broken.”

“Not sure,” said Christopher, “The boss said something about a Metal Army super robot that may be around here, and that they’re trying to reactivate it, so we’re to blow it up.”

“Well…” Amphy said, looking into one of the factories, “It’s not here.”

Unbeknownst to the two, Amphy had accidentally hit a switch on the wall. A large metal wire nearly three inches in diameter sprung to life with energy. The wire lead out of the single factory, further into the complex.

“Uh oh…” said Amphy.

”Follow that wire!” Christopher yelled, and sprinted off, Amphy followed close behind.

SOUTHERN INDUSTRIAL ZONE – CENTER OF COMPLEX

Amphy and Christopher eventually came to the final uplink for the wire. It, along with several other wires, were connected to a massive crimson mech. It was streamlined, and nearly fifteen feet tall in its fetal position. The wires all around it came to life. Then, the status panels flickered on.

Then, its red eye began to glow.

[Insert heavy metal guitar music]

[The massive red robot rises up, the ground shaking as it reaches nearly fifty-five feet tall]

Sinanju: I am complete!

Chris and Amphy: CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!

Sinanju: Yes you are screwed!
Target renewed!
Now I’m online and I’ll crush both of you!
This planet is mine!
And you’re first in line!
You brought me to life
AND NOW YOU SHALL BOTH DIE!

Amphy: Waaaaaittt! WAAAIIIT!
Waaaiiit! You Gundam knock-off!
We challenge you to a ROCK OFF!
Give us one chance to blow your socks off!

[Sinanju pauses for a second, then turns around with a hologram on his wrist]

Sinanju: DAMN! DAMN!
DAMMMNNNN! The villain code prevents me
From declining the challenge of thee!
What are your terms?
What’s the ca-a-atch?

[Classic guitar music begins]

Amphy: If we win
You must your take your metal butt back to Mekkai
And to us two grand each you will pa-ay!

[Christopher nods nervously, then they both look back at Sinanju]

Sinanju: And what if I win?

Amphy: Then you can take us back to Mekkai…

[The music cuts off]

“WHAT?” Christopher shouted, stepping in front of Amphy, face red.

”Trust me, James. It’s the only way,” Amphy nodded, a heroic tone in his voice.

“Wait- I never- W-what you talking about?” Christopher muttered nervously.

[Classic guitar music begins again]

Amphy: ..To smash or eat or play!

Sinanju: Fine! Then LET THE ROCK OFF BEGIN!

[Several massive amps shoot up from the factories. Zakus playing smaller basses appear on top of some of the buildings]

[A drum set comes out of the ground in front of Sinanju, and he starts beating them in a rapid solo until they ignite]

Sinanju: I am Sinanju, God of Metal!

[The drumset explodes, and Sinanju comes out, carrying a massive electrical guitar]

Sinanju: Check this riff it’s frigging tasty!

[Sinanju begins on a guitar solo, before breaking off into vocals]

Sinanju: I’m Sinanju, I’m the god of all war!
My name‘ll be remembered in freakin’ lore!
I’ve never lost a single rock off in time before!

[The scene changes, and a massive Sinanju-sized rack of torture devices appears]

Sinanju: I can’t wait to take you two back to Mekkai!
I’ll grind your organs up in a soufflé!
I’ll serve your bodies on a pretty silver tray!

Amphy: NOOOOOOO!!!

[The music cuts off, and the amps, torture devices, and supporting Zakus all vanish. The entire field is quiet now]

“Come on James!” shouted Amphy, shaking a dazed Christopher “Lets fight his music, with our music!”

[A slow classical guitar music begins]

Chris: There’s just no way that we can win, that was a masterpiece!
Amphy: James, listen to me-
Chris: We’ve had a good run, but now it’s time to make our peace.
Amphy: GOD DAMNIT JAMES!

Amphy: He’s gonna send us to our grave
We’re probably not gonna get paid
Chris: No…
Amphy: Unless we play the greatest song we’ve ever played…

Chris: Dude… We’ve been through so much crap.
Amphy: Destroyed everything that got in our path!
Both: Now it’s time to blow this thing to scrap!

[Christopher pulls out a guitar, and Amphy nods]

Amphy: Come on James now it’s time to blow doors down!
Chris: I hear ya Amphy now it’s time to blow doors down!
Amphy: Light up the stage, ‘cause it’s time for a showdown!
Chris: We’re gonna break and smash this giant tin can clown!

Both: Now it’s time to blow this tin can down!
Chris: He’s gonna kill us if we do not blow doors down!

Amphy: Come on James, now it’s time to blow doors down.
Chris: DUUUUUUUDDDDE, We’ll piledrive him,
It’s time for the smack down!

Amphy: Hey Sinanju! You pile of rust!
We’re gonna win this! Your butt we’ll bust!
We’ll rock this whole world! And blow your mind!
We will defeat you! For all of our kind!
You think you’re mighty! But you are wrong!
You’re just a mecha! WE’RE POKEMON!

[Chris continues strumming, and Amphy breaks into dance]]

Both: We’re Pokemon!
We’re Pokemon!
We’re Pokemon!
We’re Pokemon!
WE’RE POKEMON!

Sinanju: STOP IT! STOP IT NOW!

[The music cuts off]

“You two suck!” shouted Sinanju, “Come on, you two, you’re coming with me!”

Then, Sinanju armed his massive mini-nuke launcher, and pointed it at Amphy and Christopher. The weapon began to charge.

“Say goodbye, losers!” he shouted.

Just then, a beam hit Sinanju. Then, several X-Naut bombers began to swarm him, bombarding his armored torso with AP bombs. Artillery barrages from the cliff next to them rained down on the massive mech. Sinanju tried to swat off the bombers and shells, but they eventually pieced his massive armor. Sinanju’s core exploded, and he fell to the ground.

The impact send a massive shockwave of dust at Christopher and Amphy, but they just stood there, in awe of what just occurred.

The dust subsided, leaving a red tint on the two Pokemon. A moment passed of just sheer silence.

“So…” said Amphy, “I guess we won.”

“Yea, I guess we did,” said Christopher.

Another silence passed between the two.

“Wanna get ice cream?” said Amphy.

”Yea, sure, why not,” Christopher muttered, and the two walked off.

Did it. Sorry about the annoyance of everything, Wary. Hope this makes up for it.

Chapter 7-4: The Demons Within

METAL ARMY ALINOS BASE – NORTHERN POSITION

The transport sped away into the midst of the battle, leaving Paper and Eli on a ledge overlooking the massive shielded center of the Metal Army base.

“Our target is the shield generator around these parts,” Eli said, “You know what to do.”

“I have my targeting beacon right here,” Paper held up a large, custom rifle, with a very ornate laser scope on top, “When we see it, it’s gone.”

The two moved up, trudging through the ash and the dust toward the large structures nearby. Oddly enough, there wasn’t any resistance they could see.

METAL ARMY POSITION

In a nearby structure, a targeting HUD scanned the incoming intruders. One of them was small, but carried higher tech then the average grunt biotic. The scanner locked onto the other, a humanoid in its appearance. However, there wasn’t something right…

The scanner locked onto a small mechanical construct around the human-biotic’s neck. The energy being released from that object was astounding, and seemed to energize the entire being of the humanoid. And yet, the trace of the humanoid itself seemed to show no signs of this energy… It was almost as if it was being used on something else.

Regardless, the mecha’s abstract AI servos calculated that the best course of action would be to remove that object as a preemptive strike. He could take the two defenseless biotic intruders easily. If he didn’t, Lord Ultra Stuffwell would have his head…

The mecha, more human in appearance than most, jumped towards Eli, arm extended at his neck.

ELI AND PAPER’S POSITION

Paper saw the mecha coming, and there was nothing he could do to stop him.

In that split second, he recognized it. It was one of the Metal Army units that had raided the seventh chaos emerald, the one that the Yux had picked up, and that Lord Ultra Stuffwell had identified as Doctor Albert.

Doctor Albert lunged at his neck, and grabbed the necklace of Eli with his steel grip. He then tore it off his neck, and pounced back, pushing a stunned Eli to the ground.

“Eli!” Paper yelled, arming his rifle at the newcomer.

No! How could I be so careless! Not now…

Yes! Yes! My freedom! My freedom!

Eli, you can’t give in now-

It’s too late for that, fool! My captivity is over! This body is MINE!

“What’s this?” Doctor Albert said, looking at the necklace, “It’s not emanating any more power. The worthless pile of scrap metal!”

Doctor Albert tossed it aside, then targeted Paper. His arm cannon rose toward Paper, and he fired a power beam.

“I’ll make you pay for Eli!” Paper screamed, firing his rifle at Doctor Albert, the shots bouncing off his hull. Doctor Albert then jumped up, and fired down on Paper, blowing him aside, and tearing his cloak.

Nearby, the body of Eli began to glow in a white light. The entire body began to blur into an indistinguishable shape, but Paper and Doctor Albert failed to notice, continuing to battle.

No… I can’t let him win now!

Give in, Eli. It’s no use.

Eli! Fight him! It’s the only way!

Silence, weakling! Now… Bear witness to my ascension!

Eli’s body rose, arms slumped like a ragdoll, and he began transform. This form was nearly ten feet tall, with torn, crimson skin. A horned, devil-like head and shoulders protruded and his eyes glowed like deep onyx. The sheer presence of the being that once was Eli put even the emotionless steel of Doctor Albert in awe.

Doctor Albert fired his power beam at the thing that was once Eli, but the shows bounced off before they even impacted his skin. The Eli-Demon fired a beam of dark energy at Doctor Albert and Paper, blowing them back.

“Mother of god…” Paper muttered, “Eli, what happened to you?”

“Eli is no more!” shouted the demon, “I am Garzon! And I will end this battle!”

Doctor Albert ignited his back thrusters, and sped top speed at Garzon. He fired several power beam shots directly at his head, but each bounced off. Garzon blasted a beam of demonic energies at Doctor Albert, but he flew upward, and came down in his head with a beam sword extended. He stabbed for the face, when Garzon simply grabbed him, and held him close to his face.

“So, this is the Metal Army? Pathetic…” Garzon taunted, tightening his grip on Doctor Albert, “So, you’re defending this shield generator? Does it mean that much to you?”

Garzon then turned toward the base Doctor Albert flew in from. He charged up a beam of energy in his hand, and unleashed the crimson light on the base.

The entire shield base ignited in a fireball, sending metal debris flying.

“NO!” Doctor Albert shouted, “Ultra Stuffwell will… Be displeased… But I must activate him early!”

Doctor Albert then surrounded himself with nanobots, which blasted outward, pushing back Garzon’s grip, and giving him a chance to free himself. He instantly ignited his back thrusters, and flew off toward the center of the base.

“Coward…” Muttered Garzon, now turning towards Paper, “Now… You. Eli’s comrade. I have seen you. I will enjoy your dying scream!”

”Eli, I know you’re in there!” Paper yelled, “Fight it!”

”Eli is gone! Only I remain!” shouted Garzon, “His device could only contain me for so long. Now I am free! Free to unleash by once contained wrath on this forsaken field! And you will be the first to die!”

Garzon lunged at Paper, who fired his gun in vain at Garzon. Garzon knocked him aside, and blasted him back with a beam of dark energy. He then ran over to Paper’s beaten body, and held him up by his Shy Guy robe.

“It is impossible to beat me.” said Garzon, “All of your efforts were in vain. Now I rule!”

“…Rodger, Conscript 4, this is Skycover. We’ve locked on to your tracking beacon. Preparing bombing run.” The voice came out of Paper’s communicator.

“What?” Garzon uttered.

Paper’s rifle’s scope was activated, and had locked onto Garzon at a point blank range.

Garzon turned to see four SWD Marauder bombers, stolen by the X-Nauts, fly down. The Marauders unleashed their payload, which streamed down to impact Garzon, blowing him backwards. His grip on Paper laxened, and he went flying through the air.

Paper landed with a thud, and opened his eyes. In front of him, was Eli’s necklace.

MUSIC

Garzon lay on the ground, gripping his head. He seemed to be in agony.

You’re not jeopardizing everything I’ve done! NO!

Get out of my head, weakling! I have won!

Eli, keep it up! Take the body back!

Even in this weakened state, I can overpower you two! Get away! GET AWAY!

Paper rushed up to Garzon, and held the necklace close to him. The demon began to cringe in pain as Paper tied the string around its neck. Where the device that made the centerpiece of the necklace impacted, the flesh began to glow.

Yes! I have control again!

No! I was so close! NOO!

Garzon’s body then began to glow in the same light that had enveloped Eli, and his form shrunk. This time, however, it was not Eli or Garzon, but something different. He was much smaller than Eli, and yet still a human. The human had clean-cut black hair, a more youthful yet serious face. He stood up, and looked at Paper.

“Who the… Where’s Eli?” Paper said sternly.

“I am Rasuke,” the human said, “Eli is safe in me. As is Garzon. We are one in the same.”

“I… Don’t understand.” said Paper.

“You see, I come from a world unlike your own,” Rasuke began, “I was a normal boy, until my body and personality began to change between different forms erratically. First, was Garzon, a being of hatred and destruction. Then, came Eli, the intelligent and yet whimsical being that you know today.

“One day, however, Garzon began to trouble me. He vied for control of this body, and had the power to shut out Eli and I. That is why I had Eli create this necklace,” Rasuke held up the device Paper had put around his neck, “This device would sustain Eli’s form, and suppress Garzon and I. Though I would no longer exist, I saw this as my only option, lest we be destroyed.”

“So… Eli is just a split of your personality?” Paper asked.

“Yes,” said Rasuke,“ Garzon and I have seen through his eyes this entire battle. We know you Paper, and we know the group Eli has befriended. You are worthy, but the cause you fight for is not! I have little time, heed my warning! Abandon this madness before your universe comes to harm!”

With that, Rasuke began to glow with a white light, and his form changed again. This time, it was Eli, leaning on the ground, and gasping for air.

“Paper…” He managed, “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…”

”You’ll be fine, Eli…” he managed, “It’s over. Now we have the final approach to worry about.”

MUSIC

Ahead of them, where the massive purple shield once stood, now a sprawling Metal Army base was. In the center, was a large black pyramid; it’s top red and glowing. Hundreds of factories and buildings littered its base. In there, even from the long distance, a myriad of Metal Army soldiers stood vigilant in their defense.

From behind Paper and Eli, several X-Naut ships flew low over then, ruffling their hair and robes. They all went toward the center, from all angles. Transports, bombers, fighters, all converged on that pyramid. From the ground, the massive forms of the X-Naut fleet could be seen, descending into low orbit.

“Looks like this is it…” said Eli, “It all ends here.”
