Well I mean. The 6 that are here. And considering there's like a 3-4 month gap between this story and story 14, anything is possible. |

Yea, but it links to a story I had planned to take place right after the Metal Wars end. Which is whenever me and Sneezier get the time. Which is never. But we'll see. But that does help. I guess. It'll become clearer as I finish up this story. Which has one chapter left after this one.

Chapter 6-2: Patriot’s Fall AI DISRUPTOR – COMPUTER TERMINAL The guns all began to whine, as they powered up. All of them were aimed at the Conscripts. ”SCATTER!” Eli yelled, and all of the Conscripts ducked away from the volley of bullets followed by two missiles. Christopher was knocked on his side from the blast, but staggered up. His cheeks began to spark, and he shot several thunderbolts at two of the machine gun turrets. The turrets began to spin around before they exploded. Paper ran up to one of the flamethrowers, and set a charge on top of the false wall tile handing on its side. Paper ducked away, as the flamethrower exploded, sending burning metal around the room. Amphy took this time to conjure up a spell to control some of the flaming shards of metal, and sent them into a missile launcher. The metal hit the ammo bays of the launchers, causing them to explode. Litera armed his canister rifle, and took several well-placed shots at the ceiling turrets, causing them to fall to the ground. Ripvor followed up by slicing two of the ceiling turrets with one stroke of his tail. Teen Angst used some of the upturned metal as cover, and she continued to talk on her phone loudly and obnoxiously. The signal began to interfere with the targeting system of a nearby missile turret, which sent off a pre-launch cycle attack, destroying itself. Eli strapped a device of his own to one of the floor turrets, and ducked back, another handheld device in his hand. The turret ceased up, and turned to fire at the last remaining turrets in the area, destroying them. Eli sat on the side, controlling it from his device. The last turrets were gone, and all was quiet. “Well… That solves that,” said Christopher. “No it doesn’t,” said Paper, looking at the keypad to the door further in, “The door’s locked. The computer must have locked down the doors when it locked us out.” “ACCESS CODE DENIED,” the computer stated, even as Eli continued trying to hack through the system’s firewall. “No use,” said Eli, “It’s shut us out.” Just as he said that, three X-Naut scientists ran from behind them, clipboards in their hands. “Hey, who’s messing with the computers,” one of the scientists said, before stopping, “Oh.” “Gimme the damn access codes before I BLAST YOU TO KINGDOM COME!” Christopher yelled. ”I ain’t telling you nothing,” one of them said. Then, Christopher’s body began to spark, and he shot a massive wave of electrical energy at two of the scientists, blowing them completely across the room. “Wait!” the last one said, “I’ll tell you! It’s… Snakecoil.” “ACCESS CODE ACCEPTED,” the computer said as Eli typed in the code. “Thanks,” Christopher stated before blowing him across the room with a electrical bolt as well. “Was that really necessary?” said Paper. ”Yes.” Christopher said. “SECURITY CAMERAS ACTIVATED,” said the computer, “ADMIRAL STALVICK DETECTED IN SECTOR 8.” The computer showed an image of Stalvick in a room filled with machines, working on one of the computers. Near the Conscripts, one of the doors slid open. “Well, now we know where he is. Let’s go,” said Litera, as the group piled through the door. AI DISRUPTOR – MAGNUS VON GRAPPLE REPAIR BAY The large room filled with Magnus von Grapples that they saw on the computer terminal stood before the, except much larger than the camera could even begin to scope. There were at least thirty various Magnus suits lined up, about fifteen fully functional. ”Hey guys,” said Paper, “We could sure use those Grapples. Get over there and commandeer them. We’ll clear the way for Colonel Litera.” The Conscripts scattered to different suits on the walls, climbing maintenance ladders to reach their cockpits. The massive hatches swung down, locking the Conscripts in different suits. Amphy and Christopher stumbled as their suits walked out, while Ripvor, Eli, and Paper were able to move out of their areas with ease. Teen Angst seems completely immobile, too distracted by her call to do anything. ”Intruders!” shouted an X-Naut on the other end of the facility, “Alert the Grapple pilots!” Almost instantly, three of the other Magnus von Grapple suits activated, and moved toward the Conscripts, firing rockets while charging for their melee attacks. Christopher’s suit was hit, and fell for the ground, Christopher being unable to save its fall. Eli and Paper both fired on the nearest one, causing its armor to dent. Then, the suits were close enough for melee fighting. Eli kicked at one of the suits, but the experienced von Grapple pilot knocked him away. Ripvor attempted to come behind him to help Eli, but was punched by a second suit that was nearby. Amphy’s suit simply stumbled over, Amphy’s pawn unable to control the steering. Then, one of the Grapple suits knocked back Paper’s suit into Teen Angst, who was still talking on her phone. Teen Angst dropped the phone, and it fell out of the suit, onto the floor. ”What? My phone! MY PHONE!” Teen Angst let out a high-pitched squeal, then grasped the controls of her suit. Teen Angst charged at one of the von Grapples, and rammed the suits fist into its cockpit, causing it to shut down. Another decided to come behind her suit, but she hit it with an elbow back, ramming its torso inward. The final suit was in front of her, and Teen Angst shot several precise shots at the suit, causing it to slump to the ground in defeat. All of the Conscripts began to get out of their suits, dazed by what just occurred. “Remind me not to tick her off. Ever,” said Eli. ”Found my phone!” Teen Angst said gleefully, before picking it up, dialing a number, and beginning to talk again. “The point is our path is clear. Let’s go.” The Conscripts made a steady pace toward the other end of the bay, where they were unimpeded by any other forces. They made their way around the base, until they reached a door labeled “Sector 8.” “I’m going in. Alone,” Litera said. “Wait a second!” Eli shouted, walking up to Litera, “Colonel, I’ve worked with you for almost four months now. I used to trust you. Now, you’ve begun to act suspicious. We all know that something wasn’t right in our last battle. How you survived a full Metal Army assault unharmed. I think it’s time we knew the truth.” At this Litera just smiled, sleekly. “All will be revealed in time,” he stated. With that, Litera walked through the door, rifle at his side, leaving the Conscripts behind. AI DISRUPTOR – SECTOR 8 The room of Sector 8 was filled with computers and machines. Several radar maps of different areas and statuses of the base and the Disruptor were shown on monitors. Stalvick stood on a slightly raised area of the lab, and looked down at his new arrival. It was as if he was expecting him. “Admiral Stalvick,” Litera stated, “I am here under orders… To terminate your command.” Litera last words had a strange echo to them, almost inhuman in their sounding. “Colonel Litera,” Stalvick said, “I am not surprised. We both know exactly what it is you are here to terminate.” Stalvick took out a pistol from his jacket, and pointed it at Litera, “Get on with it.” “Say goodnight Stalvick,” Litera swung his rifle around, and locked on to Stalvick. “To hell with you!” Stalvick’s finger pulled back at the trigger of his gun, almost simultaneously as Litera began his. A long silence existed in that single second. … BANG. … ... “Colonel Litera, report your situation immediately,” the voice was of Grodus, coming from an earpiece on the floor. “Grodus… Old friend…” Stalvick was leaning against a communication terminal, his face pale. Blood was polling on the ground around him. “You do indeed have a traitor in your midst… But it’s not me. Litera… He has been playing us both from the start. He convinced you to destroy the AI Disruptor even though it was our best chance at defeating the Metal Army. And then in our last battle… He allowed the Metal Army to overrun us even as we had Whirl in our grasp! “I came here… To activate the one hope we have to defeating them and claiming the emerald! …And you killed me for it…” Stalvick began to breath hard, gripping his wound as it continued to bleed, “Litera is your enemy Grodus… I suspect he may even be roboticized as well… Use the Disruptor Grodus!… Finish our operation!… Let my death have at least some meaning!” With that, the Stalvick exhaled, and slumped to the floor, dead. ”Trovis!” Grodus shouted, “No… What have I done? What have I done!? Computer, where the hell is Colonel Litera!” ”The Colonel no longer registers on my sensors, Sir Grodus,” said TEC-X3, “He appears to have vanished. “No…” Grodus’s voice trailed off, just as the Conscripts entered the room, and saw Stalvick’s dead body. “He’s dead…” said Eli, “And no sign of Litera…” “SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE INITIATED” The alarms sounded, and red lights began to flash all over the AI Disruptor. Technically. I guess. If it helps, I could. I did kinda allude to him being Litera's second in command. And the next part may be done today. Or it may not. Depends if I finish something else in time. |

Wow... After this, it's the last chapter. It's gonna be sad, I'll miss some of these characters. Chapter 6-3: His Dying Breath AI DISRUPTOR – SECTOR 8 The entire Disruptor was in chaos, as alarms sounded and sirens screeched. The Conscripts stood in the room, next to Stalvick’s dead body, confused. In front of them, a door opened. A group of Stalvick’s honor guard, all X-Nauts, ran in, and looked at the body of their dead leader. None of them moved against the Conscripts. “What’s happening?” shouted Christopher. ”Sir, the Disruptor’s power core has just been set to overload.” TEC-X3 bleeped over the communicator in the center of the room, still active from Stalvick’s conversation, “All cooling vents have been closed. The automatic shutdown processes have been deleted. In order to prevent meltdown, you will need to reach the manual override terminal on the generator’s exterior and shut the reactor core down.” “It must have been Litera…” Grodus’s head appeared as a hologram on the communicator. He turned toward the X-Nauts who had just entered the room, “You men served the Admiral loyally, I ask that you continue to serve his memory by keeping this disruptor in one piece. Now get going, and find that override terminal.” With that, Grodus’s image flickered out. The X-Nauts nodded, and ran back through the door. The Conscripts followed close behind. “I knew something was wrong…” said Eli, “I knew it.” “15 MINUTES UNTIL REACTOR CORE MELTDOWN!” The siren’s sounds were deafening, and continuous. The X-Nauts and Conscripts ran through the halls of the instillation, trying to reach the core in the center. They turned a corner, and were on their way to a new sector, when suddenly one of the walls exploded. Gunshots felled one of the X-Nauts. From the smoke, three Zaku Troopers ran in. “Outer instillation walls have been breached!” TEC-X3 shouted into the Conscript’s communicators, “Tracking multiple mechanical signals within the AI Disruptor’s interior!” “What the hell?” Christopher exclaimed, “How did the Metal Army get here? Sir, we may have huge infestation problem!” “This proves that Litera is working with the Metal Army!” Grodus shouted into the Conscript’s communicators in realization, “Men, don’t let a single mecha stand in your way. We need this Disruptor now more than ever!” The X-Nauts fired back with their pulse rifles, felling one of the Zakus. Ripvor slashed one in the chest with his claw, felling it, while Eli shot a electrical bolt an the last one. ”Fourteen minutes! Let’s hurry!” shouted Paper, looking at his watch for the countdown timer. The group ran to the end of the hall, and encountered another door. Eli ran up to use the control panel, but it gave the red lock symbol. ”Doors locked…” said Amphy, “So how do we find another way?” Then, the door busted open, as a Dom Brute trampled into the room, knocking some of the X-Nauts back. “Look out!” Eli shouted, as he maneuvered away from the massive metal beast. From behind the Dom Brute, other gunshots were heard, these different from any by the Metal Army styled guns, yet very familiar. The Dom Brute’s backside exploded with a mass of circuitry and sparks. The Dom Brute collapsed. The room behind it was filled with the bodies of Metal Army soldiers. On the ceiling was a row of the autoturret defenses, all moving around, looking for targets. There were nearly fifty of them, in rows of two. “Sirs!” an X-Naut voice came through on the line, “I’ve managed to activate the Disruptor’s defense systems and security cameras. There’s a large Metal Army force beyond the next door. If you can get them in here, they’ll be cut to shreds.” “Ok…” said Amphy, “But who’s gonna open the door?” Everyone looked at each other, each shaking their head in refusal. Then, Ripvor picked up Teen Angst, and swiftly chucked her to the other side of the room, where she slid to the door on the other side. Teen Angst landed on the control panel, which turned green with the symbol of an open lock. The door slid open, and a mass of at least thirty Zakus, Gelgoogs, and other various Metal Army variants came pouring through, guns blazing. Teen Angst began floating back, as all of the autoturrets turned and fired off a wall of bullets at the Metal Army troopers. Metal parts of the mechas went flying, and the bodies of the troopers fell, one by one, under the fire of the turrets. In a single minute, the large wave of Metal Army forces were reduced to scrap. “Yea ha HA!” shouted Christopher, “I love the smell of toasted robots in the mornin’!” “Ten minutes! We’re close!” Paper said, “Let’s go!” AI DISRUPTOR – SECTOR 15 The Conscripts, after navigating more passageways, came out into another door. The sounds of gunfire and mass hysteria were heard on the other side. Ripvor opened the door, and a massive scene of chaos appeared before them. They were on a ledge overhanging a lower maintenance area. Thirty X-Nauts were firing down on a group of almost one hundred Metal Army troopers, all bearing the symbols of the Steel Legion. Bodies from both sides lay scattered through the massive room. “We’re going to have to go those, aren’t we?” Amphy gulped. “Looks like it. The generator is just on the other side,” muttered Eli, raising his hand, “Cut through them, men! For Grodus!” Ripvor was the first to charge through the group, vanishing, the reappearing on the shoulder of a Dom Brute. He swung his tail around, slicing its head clean off. Christopher charged up, and was surrounded by a mass of electrical energy, creating a volt tackle. Christopher then plummeted his volt tackle straight at the Metal Army lines, scattering the troopers all over the room. Eli charged in, head first, slicing through a Zaku with an energy sword of his own making. He then twirled back, and fired a bolt of lightning at another Gellog, knocking him down. X-Naut troopers ran down the ramp, firing at what remained, rallied to Eli by his heroic charge. Amphy jumped into the fray, and surrounded himself with an electrical shield, similar to Christopher’s volt tackle, but staionary. Bolts shot out, disabling nearby mechas. Paper grabbed onto Teen Angst, and the two floated over the battle, avoiding shots fired at them. They navigated to another, larger room. This one had canisters lining the wall, some glowing hot. The entire room was nearly boiling from the sheer heat. In the center was a computer terminal next to a massive turbine. Teen Angst floated over to this, and dropped Paper off. Paper looked at his watch, revealing only one minute left until the entire core melted down. Just in the nick of time… Paper fought the urge to faint under the heat, and walked over to the terminal. He typed in a sequence of codes, causing the alarms and sirens to shut off. Then, massive cooling fans began to turn in the generator room, the power core went into a standby mode. Behind Paper, the Conscripts and the remaining X-Naut defenders ran in. Having beaten the Metal intruders, they were able to cut into the generator room. “Good work, men,” Grodus’s voice came in through everyone’s communicators, “I want this Disruptor fixed, then kept on full power around the clock. I’ll leave a garrison here to protect it as well. Prepare the fleet to move out! We are going to the planet Alinos to claim that cursed seventh chaos emerald! …And my heaven help Litera for what he has done this day.” TO BE CONTIUED IN CHAPTER 7-1: HEARTS OF METAL |

So the last chapter begins... Stalvick is dead. Litera has shown his true colors. Now, with nowhere else to turn to, Grodus sets out to the planet Alinos in order to claim the item that so many lives have been sacrificed for. Al he has left is the Conscripts and the few X-Nauts that survived the turmoil of Grodus’s defeat. However, Grodus now possesses the AI Disruptor, the bane of the Metal Army that threatens the universe. Grodus is compelled to Alinos, partly out of need for the emerald, partly out of vengeance for the death of Stalvick. Grodus will stop at nothing until the emerald is in his grasp. Now, the final chapter of Grodus’s conquest begins. On the distant planet of Alinos, there can only be complete victory, or utter defeat. Chapter 7-1: Hearts of Metal ALIMBIC SECTOR - ORBIT OF ALINOS High above the planet Alinos, a massive Metal Army fleet stood at attention, slowly orbiting the planet’s volcanic surface. Several plots of metal, the base camps of the Metal Army, could be seen even from orbit. One entire side of the planet was covered in Metal structures. The ships bore the markings of many different legions, many even the famed Steel Legion, commanded by Ultra Stuffwell himself. Suddenly, several of the Metal ships began to shut down. Many of the myriad fighters simply dropped into the planets atmosphere, burning like debris. An entire Metal Army capitol ship simply plummeted towards the planets surface. What few ships that remained active were in chaos. They seemed to be distracted by the chaos of the thousands of worried transmissions. This was happening on the ground too. Metal Army troops were simply shutting down, with no explanation. Then, a shot tore through a Metal Army ship. All around the planet, the fleet of the X-Nauts closed in. CHAPTER 7: THE FIST OF GRODUS GRODUS’S MIGHT – HIGH ORBIT ALINOS On the bridge of the ship, Grodus, still a disembodied head on a platform, watched as his ships tore through what few Metal Army ships were still active. Unfortunately, most of the troops that resisted the Disruptor’s effects were Steel Legion. This would present a problem, but not much of one. “Sir Grodus,” reported TEC-X3, “With the Disruptor’s signal sent to this world, the fleets over Alinos have scattered in disarray, allowing the fleet to penetrate to the planet’s surface. However, there is still a number of defenders still entrenched around the estimated location of the chaos emerald.” “So Trovis was right…” Grodus muttered to himself, “The Disruptor is the key to victory here. If I had destroyed the machine as Litera suggested we would have never have made it this far… Nevertheless, the time is upon, us, men, to do what we came here for! We will claim the emerald in the name of the Secret Society!” Grodus was addressing the several holograms of dropships containing the Conscripts. There were three in all, one containing Eli and Paper, one Teen Angst and Ripvor, and the last one Amphy and Christopher. There were thousands of others, but these were the last heroes Grodus had. The last of those loyal to him… “I understand without Litera, your contract is now null,” Grodus restarted his conversation, “However painful it may be, after this operation, I am honorably discharging you all from command with my blessings. You have served me well. Do not fail me in this last moment, and I will repay you as much as I can for your services above and beyond your calling as mercenary conscripts!” “Each of you are assigned with different objectives,” started TEC-X3, “Dropship one is to disable the turret defense relay surrounding the core base. Dropship two is to disable the factory sector of the outer base. Dropship three is to down the shield surrounding the core of the base. You will be briefed from there.” “Let not a Metal solider survive!” said Grodus, “And men… Remember, Litera is still out there somewhere. I’d venture to guess that his treachery has only just begun. Be careful, and good luck. I am sure that this will be our finest hour.” With that, Grodus closed the com-link, and looked down on Alinos. It all came down to this… DROPSHIP 1- HEADING TOWARD THE SOUTHERN POSITION OF THE BASE On the ship, Teen Angst and Ripvor sat. Teen Angst was talking on her phone, while Ripvor stared out the window. The battle was going on all around them, explosions and corpses on the field. The Metal Army was here in massive number, but by the massive number of bodies with not a scratch on them, he could tell the AI Disruptor was working. Teen Angst got off of her phone, only for a second, and floated there, looking at Ripvor. ”Well, this is, like it!” said Teen Angst, “I guess the only information I can totally give now is, like, don’t die!” “Good advice,” said Ripvor, Teen Angst blushing. “Soo… What are you, like, going to do after this?” said Teen Angst. Ripvor sat silently for a second, and looked at the floorboards. “I’m not sure,” he said bluntly, “I want revenge on the big heads that trapped me. I also want to go home.” Teen Angst sighed for a moment, “Well, I want to go with Chrissy. Maybe we’ll, like, finally go on a date! I mean, like, I hear there’s a new movie coming out, and we’ll go there, and then we’ll get married in a mountain filled chapel, and we’ll have two kids…” Teen Angst continued to babble, on and on, while Ripvor sat silently. DROPSHIP 2 - EN ROUTE TO THE WESTERN POSITION OF THE BASE Christopher and Amphy sat in the dropship’s transport bay. Both of them were twiddling their thumbs, biding their time until they landed. “Guess it’s all over now, isn’t it?” said Amphy, “Just this, and we get paid, and get out of here.” “Yup,” said Christopher, “I’m not about to die now. And after we win here, and everyone’s too distracted with the emerald, I say we nab some tech and get out of here.” ”Are you sure that’s a good idea?” said Amphy. “Of course!” shouted Christopher, “We’re gonna be discharged anyway! And no one’s gonna notice a few coins missing with some battle suits.” “This won’t end well…” said Amphy, “Well, looks like we’re approaching the landing zone… Let’s hope we live through this.” “We better,” said Christopher, “I’ve gone through too much not to get paid.” DROPSHIP 3 – CLOSING IN ON NORTHERN SECTION OF BASE Eli and Paper both sat alone in the cargo bay of the dropship. The roar of the engines muffled the sounds of battle out. And yet, the place felt so serene, like the calm before a storm. Paper leaned back to look at the battle below, while Eli thumbed a necklace he was wearing. “Let’s hope I can hold out before he comes…” muttered Eli. “What?” Paper inquired. ”Nothing,” said Eli. The two were quiet for a minute, when Paper broke the silence. “I guess this is it,” said Paper, “I haven’t got much planned after this. What about you?” “Well, I guess I’m going to find out about the Yoshi Bodyguards,” said Eli, “What’s left of them, at least. They seem… Important to what I’m trying to do.” “And what is that, Eli?” said Paper. “…Nothing,” Eli muttered, “Nothing at all.” ”Come on, Eli,” said Paper, “It seems everyone has their own agenda now adays. But that’s the glory of the universe. So many personalities, so many goals… So many lives to change, friends to make, challenges to overcome. Me? I just go wherever the wind takes me. I pity those with a purpose, always shooting for their goal, but never reaching it. You, Eli, you have a purpose. And remember, don’t let it consume you. Because you are your own person. Don’t let anyone or anything change that.” With that, the two sat in silence, letting the roar of the dropship’s engines and the faint sounds of coming battle fill the void of silence. Woo. I think I've come up with a history for Ripvor which involves the newest character I've come up with, although I have yet to reveal it. "He", eh? Anyway, uh, that's all I got. |
