The Part I Wrote On November 6th “I’ll, um, see you around, Eibmoz,” Lynn said. “Oh, well, then, see you tomorrow. No sharing those cookies.” A few minutes later, Eibmoz returned to his room and started cleaning up his ingredients. In excitement he’d forgotten to do that before. He picked up one bottle that looked unused. Gandus? Didn’t seem likely, but he looked it up in his formula book and found it. Used to prevent rapid fading of effect. “Dammit, I really messed it up this time.” He began to get the ingredients back out and putting them in the pot. He bumped and spilled it... all over the Alchemy book. “NOOO! What have I done...? I knew photocopy machines were good for something!” He tried to save it, but the formula for a love potion was lost. He sighed and closed the book. “Gandus,” he said to himself. But note if anyone else can come up with a chemical that reacts strongly with ORANGE JUICE, I’ll put it in there. Especially if it sounds deadly. And produces a gas that burns through things. More on that later. Eibmoz and Lynn ate breakfast together the next morning. It was an awkward, silent few minutes. Eibmoz concentrated on the chair behind Lynn. It nudged a bit over. Come on, any day now... The entire table next to them flipped over. As Lynn turned to look at it Eibmoz poured the chemical into her orange juice. In a flash it released a gas with some color that I’m not at liberty to denote given I don’t know what chemical does that. That wasn’t supposed to happen. The gas floated up towards the ceiling and started to corrode it. He gulped at his mistake. The robotic voice sounded. “System malfunction. Locking all teleport rooms and converting to manual.” The general crowd surrounding began a frenzied run and scream. He knew he’d just screwed him self over once again. Saul managed to gather his greatest students: Ein for Spears, Lynn for Axes, Seth for Swords, Erik for Tactics, Anna for Magic, Eibmoz for Alchemy, and himself for Martial Arts. “We’ve been cut off from most of the building by this incident,” he began. “Unfortunately, the only technicians that could have solved this were on another world, and the warp to that area is locked like all the others. In light of that situation, I will not report back without success!” He pulled out a small device which produced a small holographic map. “Erik, you’re the finest Tactics major we have at the moment. We need to fulfill our goal towards taking over that Kinok place, and with only the soldiers at our disposal. What’s your suggestion?” “Leave it to me. We ought to mobilize anyone we can soon enough. After all, the current situation will drain us of supplies and morale so quickly that time is of the essence.” “You heard the man. Get everything you can scrape together outside the base.” And now, after a long wait, we’ll finally shift back to our other group of characters, all in the desert. Because finally, one day, something interesting happened. One night, rather than a cave or the underside of a dune, the wolves stopped to rest inside what looked like an ancient temple ruin. Mark felt a strong tug in his Guardian Spirit, Fai. So he summoned him. “Mark! We’ve finally made our way here to the Shrine. Let us go in deeper.” “What are you talking about?” Mark asked. “If you’re referring to a Shrine of the Legendary Sils, we’ve already found the Fire one for Emily.” “No, you fool, this is the Wind Shrine, for YOU.” DUN DUN DUUUN The news hit Mark like a speeding car. Only that’s a terrible simile because they don’t know what cars are. “Are you certain of that?” he asked despite all of that. “Yes, yes, I can sense it. That’s the reason I’ve insisted on coming with you and helping you to get here in time. Come on, just take me further in. It’ll be worth it.” Mark turned around to see all of the wolves howling at once. They looked really mysterious in the light of the setting sun, shining straight into the temple ruin. The door behind him began to creak open on its own. He went into the temple in one of the most cliched sequences I’ve ever written. The brown and faded stone bricks and such screamed Indiana Jones or something like that. Or they would have if he knew what Indiana Jones was. Man, interworld references are terrible to make... Anyway, after going through a few rooms full of tikis or something, he ended up in a room that was even more MYSTERIOUS and stuff. A nature spirit appeared to him in the form of an odd beast. “I am Shikaka, the heart of Wind itself manifested through Mana. I will give you a gift of Mana.” With that, the spirit like hugged him or something like that, and he felt its power surrounding him. In the reflective surfaces surrounding him, he realized he had taken the same form as the spirit, only it was less spirity and more real. He was a Shikaka now, Fai’s stone embedded in his neck. Mark Shikaka turned around and started running out of the room, sensing the floating spirits in the room like never before. He walked out of the front door, the wolves parting at his sides. He looked up at the full moon and howled in his odd Shikaka way. The wolves followed him. Emily, in her full moon werewolf form, approached and nuzzled him lovingly The only human being left, Matt, raised his palm symbolically. Or something. It sounded cooler before, I guess. A few days later, we all crammed into a ship for a long and uneventful fleet journey to Morla Island. I can as easily skip over this as I could skip over the wolves’ journey back to the mountains, led by the swift Shikaka. You know, this plot is getting through a lot faster than I’d expected. 10,000 words and I’m at least a halfway through the plot of this second book. However, I can still use the third to get leverage up to 50,000, and that is set to be the longest. And if I still don’t have enough, there are a few shorter things I could use to finish it off. Or use extra plot devices to prolong it unnecessarily. Or have rambles like this one every couple of days. Besides increasing my word count they help me get my thoughts out and realize how much I SUCK, plus, I don’t ever actually stop writing, which makes my brain concentrate better than if I stopped. In the final these will be more than made up for by descriptions of the long journeys and such, and the beautiful detail-adding will make up for the lack of lengths. And by details I also mean subplots and events. Now back to what I DO have. So, anyway, as you might expect, the wolf pack eventually came back to the oasis. It had been a year since they’d left, so that made Mark and Emily 13 and Matt 15. The ship, meanwhile, arrived in the Southeast part of the Morla island. Let me tell you that this place was heavily forested, and it was also where Mark and Emily had once lived. In fact, their group was headed there as well, but not before both of us made important discoveries at the exact same time, a lock and a key brought together again. I had done my initial training in the bow and arrow with Emily’s family, with the exception of Matt who hadn’t been home for some reason. They had also taught me much of what I knew about this world. So in a way, that location was symbolic as I, once again, entered Morla Island. Before I go any further, I have to review Sils and Shrines. Sils are of the seven elements, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Darkness, and Wrerga. They refer to chosen people, but also more properly those people when united with Ancient Legend Guardian Summon Spirits. Isn’t that a mouthful? Anyway, once they are united they are ready to enter the Shrines and receive special gifts of Mana. Seth had already received his in Darkness, and unbeknownst to me, Mark had just received his in Wind. That left Water, Earth, Light, and Wrerga. Wait, one’s missing there. Oh, yeah, and Fire. There we go. Sorry for all my ranting today but I have to have everything set up before I start on that important double-scene. See what happens when I rush for a simple word count with no edits whatsoever? Oh well. ANYWAY! GET ON WITH IT! The entire population of our ship disembarked. Mind you, there was still an entire fleet waiting behind. But we had to go first, because we were the most competent vanguard and scouts. Plus, Erik understood that we had motivation to come before the army did. And by we, that means all of us with the exceptions of him and Saul. We started to head through the forest for a while. It was a dull journey but hey, so was the other group’s journey through them mountains. You see all these BORING TRAVELS? Well, it stayed boring until we accidentally ran into their old house. As it happened, as we walked in, some of their masterpiece weapons and armor were still there, along with other crafts. We made a note to supply the army later. There was little else of importance to anyone, except of course me because I had to reminisce. It was coming closer to winter, just as it had been the first time I was here. And, just as abruptly as the first time, we left. Keep in mind that every segment of this journey took several days, and as the ground started to cover with snow, even longer than that. Each day I bonded further with Anna. I forgot to mention one critical point: before we left the base, Eibmoz disappeared without a trace. Lynn refused to talk about the last time she’d seen him. It looked like she and Seth were just about at that point of almost getting together. One day we came to a mysterious part of the forest with a strong magical aura. I felt as if it was calling out to me. Actually, it was. There was an odd voice saying my name. Anna yelped. “It’s... creepy. Stay away.” I shook my head. “I have a good feeling about it. My gut’s never wrong.” She gaped. “If you go in there, I swear I’ll disown you.” I smirked. “Right, sure you will. I’d disown you before I went against what my gut told me. It’s never wrong. Never ever.” With that conviction in mind, I set off, not realizing that I’d just shown a great disloyalty. |

The Part I Wrote On November 7th Our part today begins with an argument between two characters that have nothing to do with this, or with each other for that matter. You see, I was thinking about which scene I should start this part with, and it became an inner argument between two lines said by certain characters. The first is Billy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. It’s in the one where they each get one wish, and Billy has just wished, “I wish I knew what to wish for.” He comes up with his answer: “Ooh! Ooh! I know! A volcano!” He represents the scene where Mark, Emily and Matt separate from the wolves and go into a volcano. On the other hand we have an alien from Star Wars. Don’t know much about the scene but he’s in a ship, and his line is “It’s a trap!” for the scene where I realize that the voice thing was really a trap the whole time. “A volcano!” Billy yells at the alien. “It’s a trap!” the alien says back. “Volcano!” “Trap!” This petty argument escalates for several minutes until they final agree to the conclusion, IT’S A VRAPCANO! Suddenly, Luke Skywalker appears, clinging to a pole. The alien realizes that since a character from his series is joining up, that means he wins! He repeats, “It’s a trap!” Luke shakes his head. “No... that’s not true... that’s impossible!” The alien gets some sort of epiphany and joins lines with Skywalker to reveal the truth: “It’s never a trap!” Therefore the alien is disqualified. Yes, I did just bullcrap my way to more word count. So Matt, Mark, and Emily eventually got back to the mountain range. The wolf cub had grown up by now, and he didn’t want to separate from them. Truthfully they didn’t want to separate from the wolves, but they knew they had to. Matt realized the once-tiny wolf cub had become the largest of the pack, large enough to support a human riding on its back. Thus, Matt had a new mount, named, um... *types in random letters to get a name* asdklfjasd;lfj...erioua... Eroa. That’s a pretty cool name considering I just randomly generated it. Cool. Alright. Mark had never left his Shikaka form. He didn’t really know if he could, but that was okay. He served as Emily’s mount in that form. So the two humans, riding the two beasts, headed towards the mountains. “Hey, um,” Matt began. “You guys. This might be a little tough to get everyone over the mountains again. But I was thinking, they were supposed to finish some tunnels through around this point. What say we try that?” It’s sort of like in The Lord of The Rings, where they go THROUGH the mountains. Only, when they got there a few days later, it wasn’t blocked by a magic door. It was blocked by guards. “It’s not safe to go in there,” one explained. “It’s a volcano.” Matt laughed. “I think we’ve been through scarier times than a volcano will ever be. Will you please just let us through anyway?” The guard sighed. “Stubborn little... alright. But you and you alone are responsible if you get... if something happens to you in there.” He stepped aside, allowing them to go in. Matt immediately noticed the heat. “Ouch, let’s hurry. Eroa, hurry through!” Mark and Eroa dashed along the dark stones, lava lighting the room from either side and below. The heat only got worse as they went along, though. Suddenly the ledge dropped off, just above a roiling crater. Mark skidded to a stop, and Emily lurched forward... off of his back towards the lava. Yes, I’m going to end this scene with a cliffhanger. Only, it’s not so much a cliff as a ledge above a bunch of lava. And she’s not really hanging... Of course, I had a much less literal cliffhanger at the end of yesterday’s part. And now I have revealed to you that there was never a trap. I didn’t know this yet, but it wasn’t so much a trap as everyone died because I went in there. Not immediately, of course. It was really just a long chain of resulting events that I’m a bit quick to start foreshadowing. But at the time I had no idea. In fact, for a long while it seemed really good. Other than seeing a ghost, that is. Specifically, it looked like the ghost of Emily’s older sister Rain and their baby brother Cecil. Rain spoke. “It has been one year since we were told to wait for you here, and to guide you to the place you seek. Here, still, we wait. Soon our mission shall be complete.” She swirled into a vortex on the ground in front of me. “Step inside,” said her voice. “The Shrine has awaited you for even longer than that.” I stepped in, and felt the ground suck me down. “It’s a trap!” yelled the little alien in my head. But I already told you, it’s not a trap. Once all the rocks had cleared, I found myself in a torchlit room. It didn’t look like it had been made with a shovel–you could see certain signs in the dirt that I recognized more carefully with my training. I walked further in, each room filled with more and more plants. The mana form of Earth appeared suddenly, shapeshifting slowly. “It has been a long time,” said the voice that sounded like a bunch speaking at once. “Yet you have arrived. You know why you are here. Time is key, so this shall be short.” It disappeared and flowed into me. My forearms exploded with stony power, and my feet too, as if I was wearing big gloves and boots. Spines started to erupt from the arm in a mysterious little pattern. I felt suddenly larger, and stronger. It was the magic that changed the most. Terra appeared. “There’s no passage out. Maybe we should make one.” I grinned at the idea and jumped up, ripping at the wall with those weird hands, forging my own tunnel up and out. This power is amazing, I thought to myself. And at the exact same time, Emily was thinking the exact same thing as she surfed a flow of lava back up and out of the crater to the others. They gaped at her, her two long pigtails now tongues of flame, right along with her fingers. “I won’t burn you,” she said, poking Matt. It warmed him up, but, just as she’d said, didn’t burn at all. “It’s a lot like what happened to Mark here. What a coincidence that it would be both us. And I would have thought you were the kind of person for it more than me, brother.” Matt avoided her gaze. He hadn’t told her about the lightning incidents from before. The ones that had forced him to kill innocent people by electrocution. The ones that had turned him into a scientific experiment for quite some time. He shuddered. “Who knows,” he muttered. Suddenly his memory sought back to a specific incident. “Who dares enter the Shrine of Wrerga without the Legend of old?” the voice had asked. “Hi, I’m Matt,” had been his reply. Such a simple answer and yet he’d proclaimed his own identity in front of something perhaps nearly as old as time itself. And he’d been given a similar degree of power, if only for a few minutes. Was it the same? Maybe. “We should get going,” he said presently. And with that the group exited the volcano and headed Eastward towards the remains of Kinok City. I surfaced near everyone, and most of them were shocked to see me instead of the monster they’d been apparently expecting. “Hey, let’s get moving now.” Everyone stared, apparently a little afraid. Okay, so it was a long journey and they asked a lot of questions. And I gave them a lot of answers. So everyone pretty much heard the story. Anyway, we came to the conclusion that the place was deserted, but something seemed off to me. “Seth, you said you already went to the Shrine of Darkness, right? You didn’t seem that terribly different. What’s going on?” He sighed. “It’s given me the ability to disguise myself. If you must know what’s actually happened to me, you’re in for a shock.” A dark blob wrapped around him for a second and dissipated, revealing a fully rotting zombie with those piercing, blood red eyes. Now THAT was sort of scary. “Doesn’t that sort of suck?” I asked. “Yeah, a little, but I got used to it. I wasn’t like this immediately, mind you–it all started when... when you killed me before, Ein.” I looked down. “Oh. I... I’m really sorry, dude.” “Nah. There are some benefits to it, after all. It makes me wonder how much of this was from the darkness and how much was from you trying to revive me.” The dark blob came back and transformed him back into a more-normal-looking version of himself. (He would never look entirely normal to me, as knowing him as well as I did made him stand out anyway.) Erik thought about it for a moment. “Is it true that there are others in our group that are believed to be these... Sils?” Lynn raised her hand, and much to my surprise Anna did as well. Erik nodded at this. “Then perhaps we should seek out the other Shrines in order to make a final increase of our power before we start doing anything else here. Is that alright with everyone?” Thus began our hurried journey West towards the lake. It was such a hurry I didn’t have much time to write in my journal, so there’s little to say about it. We entered the secret spout that led through the Azaids’ former base. Apparently, they were actually taking over the areas around the lake and the coast ever since the flooding. Let me just say in case you weren’t here before that Azaids are basically fishpeople. Only, they make a little more sense than mermaids. Lynn and I had trained under a certain Master Ikra here once. He was the reason that we were such good students in Tritrite, we readily admitted. The two of us and he were the captives of the Azaids. As we started to make our escape, he was lost. I half-expected to hear his ghost call out for Lynn to enter the Shrine, but regardless, we stayed behind as she went further into the passage. She didn’t have to breathe underwater anyway, so that gave her that advantage. She came back later in a suit of crystal ice. You know, the snowy kind, not the clear kind. So you couldn’t see through it is what I mean. Just to... clarify that. No reverse pun intended. Or something. That’s kind of confusing. Oh well. I am REALLY rushing this segment, so just to give myself a chance to slow it down, I’m going to give it a rest here. Yeah, I know, it’s early. |

The Part I Wrote On Novemb--IT'S THE 8TH ALREADY?! I might almost have said Lynn looked great in that icy suit thing. Only I didn’t have to. “Stop staring. I thought you didn’t like me anymore.” I stepped back a little. “That’s not true. I thought you didn’t like me anymore!” “What.” We turned to Eibmoz and Anna, who were looking a little... shifty-eyed. Eibmoz yelped, “We didn’t do anything to try and break you up–I promise!” Wait. Eibmoz disappeared. I actually forgot about that. So Anna said that. And we only looked at her. And stuff. I sighed. “I think there’s been a terrible miscommunication.” Lynn rolled her eyes. “You were quicker to get with her than to even ask me about it! I don’t think you really care what I think!” This drama went on for quite a while. Saul and Erik stayed behind wearily, watching all three of us sort of hate each other. “People these days have no boundaries,” Saul spat. “Hey, I can sort of understand,” Erik put in. “I’ve been rejected for stupid reasons, too.” “Like what?” Saul asked. “Like she didn’t want me to know about... her werewolfism.” Erik stared at the ground. “Oh.” The conversation sort of paused there, awkwardly. The argument on the other end of the group was still going on, of course. I just don’t know who would have said what as the whole “walking in characters’ shoes” thing is hard with three pairs of shoes that hate each other. But hey, that’s pretty much what happened all the way to Kinok City, where Anna thought maybe her Shrine might be. She’d felt a connection to a certain tower there, you see. Meanwhile, Mark, Emily, Matt, and Eroa emerged in the midst of the city. Emily recognized the jail that had been connected to a passage before, but the Shrine had been blocked off back then. Several workers, working to repair the area, stopped for a second to look at them. Then they turned around and continued. Mark and Eroa carried their riders out of that bit of rubble and up to the peak of the castle’s remains. They looked at it with disgust: the workers had not respected the grave of Matt’s and Emily’s mother. “BLASPHEMY!” Matt cried out in anger. The workers at the castle froze in the middle of moving rocks. They stared straight at him. “What, haven’t you ever seen an angry man before?” “We haven’t seen a man of your distinguishment, sire, in such a long time,” said one. He blinked. “What are you talking about?” “Your left arm bears the symbols of the Royal Family, sire,” he continued. “His Highness the late Ramarito had no heir, so his legacy was to live on in the one that absorbed his spirit.” Matt looked at his arm and flashed back to one final memory of the day he’d gained the power here. In order to escape the lair below he’d fought, in another dimension, against one who claimed to be His Majesty himself. By destroying him, had he truly absorbed...? The workers bowed down to him. “What are your wishes, my lord?” He hesitated. “Put those stones back as they were. This former castle was turned into a grave, and so it shall remain. We must find another location from which to reunite the people that suffered in the destruction.” “My lord, what of the tower? It was thought to be the one thing that would collapse the quickest, yet by some old mysterious thing perhaps, it still stands. None dare enter now.” “Well, I see a group who does dare enter now.” He pointed them out. * * * “How do you expect to enter this tower?” Erik asked. “And the shrine could be anywhere–the tower holds 300 floors of basement and 700 floors rising to the heavens, as the legend goes. Truthfully I would think they’d lose count after a while.” Anna shook her head. “I sense something powerful inside. We will enter together, and I will go into the Shrine itself on my own.” She summoned Issu. “Just what we’ve been waiting for.” The Spirit passed through the side of the tower, which came to life immediately and opened a side. She nodded and went inside, beckoning for the rest of us. Suddenly a plethora of odd creatures came running from the back of the room and the spiral staircase extending above and below. They were fierce and rabid. The entire group cried with surprise and ran out, the creatures chasing us around the city. A man, who once again looked oddly familiar raised an oddly-bruised arm. “Workers, drop your jobs and fight these beasts! We must stop them at all costs!” I just used the word oddly twice in one sentence. Slow to catch on, too. ANYWAY! ENOUGH SIDETRACKING! Unfortunately, the creatures outnumbered us by several times. To make matters worse, with each of the human beings they killed, its body transformed into yet another one of the hideous fiends. Matt–yes, now I remembered who he was, seeing him with Emily and Mark together–growled in a terrible frustration. “Your name’s Anna, right? The Shrine should be empty of them by now. Hurry and fly up there.” Her eyes widened greatly. “I know you’re a half-demon with a nice pair of wings. I’ll explain later how I know.” She nodded and looked around. In a time like this, even SHE didn’t need another excuse to run away. The back of her battlesuit ripped with the unfurling of a great pair of wings, a rainbow of feathers contrasting with her usual style. She jumped straight up and pumped them with a great force, heading straight for the side of the tower. “No windows,” she groaned, despairing. There was no way she’d get in through the front door. And holding onto the side was tough enough without trying to fly straight up. Suddenly she got an idea. “If there are no windows, I’ll just MAKE one!” She gathered a huge amount of power into her whipsword (which she had just now pulled out of her hammerspace) and smashed the side of the tower into thousands of tiny bits. Bacon bits. I don’t know why I just said that. Okay, it is now the Tower of Bacon. For no reason. Which means smashing it is not so easy as ripping it. So she RIPPED it into bacon bits. Although the dogs inside knew it wasn’t real bacon. “Can I just go in already?!” she screamed. Right. She then entered the Tower of Not-Really-Bacon and proceeded to use huge flying leaps to skip some floors in the spiral staircase. At the top she finally went through the Shrine thing, yada yada, you get it by now. Her special thingy was that her body started glowing. She realized she was one floor away from the top. She jumped up there and launched off the tower, glowing brightly like the sun even though it was nighttime. She plunged downward. Matt took this as a signal after the long defensive measures we’d been taking. “Now, everyone into this passage!” He wrenched a rock out from the pavement to reveal a passage leading straight down. “Hurry!” He started running down the spiral staircase and the rest of us followed, Anna landing gracefully just behind. Suddenly Matt tripped on a switch. The stairs leveled into a long slide. Our screams drowned out the angry animals up above who had just now figured out how to pursue us properly. But just then, we all got dumped out, falling on top of each other in a pile. It was so frickin’ HOT in there because, well, it’s near the center of a planet, what did you expect it to be like? In fact, lava was the only light that showed us the skeletons and spilled chemicals that lay around the room. Matt knelt down, his body starting to spark somehow. “I have brought the others. And I have the Legend. Give to me what was promised.” SIX MORE WORDS MEANS THE 1337 Sorry I was just looking at my word count and had realized that I had 1331 words. So then I just put in a six-word paragraph, as you can see. I get so sidetracked so easily... Suddenly he exploded with lightning energy and used it to obliterate every living creature that sought to attack us. You know, in that passage. I’m sure there were plenty somewhere up on the surface that were out of range. “Very well done,” said someone behind him. We all looked further into the passage to see a demonic person with the proportions of a ten-year-old child. Yet there was a strength in him, a great power hidden inside. One of his eyes was red, much like Seth’s, but the other was covered by an odd mask thing with a weird symbol on the front. “It would be far too easy to subdue the people with that sort of power,” he continued in a dark and scratchy voice. “But not every single one. You need... lesser,” he spat the word reluctantly, “but still very powerful people to work with you. That’s why I’d be helpful if we were to strike up a deal. As for my end, it would be in my own benefit to attach myself to someone who is clearly such a powerful leader... what do you say?” He extended a hand to shake. I knew a lot of the things he said were just buttering poor Matt up to gain some favor, but I held my tongue. Matt squinted at him, having caught something. “Why are you here? This is the lab once used by Eibmoz.” Lynn’s eyebrows raised. “Matt, how do you know Eibmoz?” “I’ve had some experience here,” he replied, “But I’m not the one being questioned.” The demon kid nodded. “I, too, knew Eibmoz when he was alive. I had only just returned to the lab...” “Eibmoz is dead?” Lynn asked. “Yes. I... cannot give the details. I am under an oath, you see. My name is Noctus,” he added, changing the subject a little bit. Everyone in the room introduced themselves: Me, Lynn, Seth, Anna, Erik, Matt, Emily, a creature named Mark–wait! I had said before that I had, well, recognized Mark, but I couldn’t have because he was different. There was also a wolf named Eroa, which mysteriously could talk. I’m pretty sure that’s everyone–eight. Now, with Noctus, that makes nine. Nine is a mysterious number, isn’t it? Anyway, the odd thing I’ve just realized is I don’t have any more scene transitions, at least, as much as I used to. The entire group has finally united. And I just remembered we have a long-forgotten Number Ten. Saul Tapia. “I’m afraid I have to oppose this regime. In case you guys forgot, our mission was to take control of this place. Taking advantage of the people’s current state, I was hoping we wouldn’t even need our armies. But I was wrong. And now, as the vanguard arrives at the capital, we must insist on fighting you. Attack them at once!” Erik leapt into action, alone. Matt threw him down. “You dare attack me, the new ruler of this place?” Erik looked up. “No, I... I simply hadn’t thought... please forgive me! I am a tactician of some regard. You need me in the campaign.” Matt bit his lip. “Alright. Mr. Tapia, correct? It seems all of your forces are thinking it better to join me instead.” I shrugged. “Well, your sister saved my life every bit as much as this Saul guy ever did, and Seth’s, too. Plus, I honestly think in a fight you’d be stronger.” Saul growled. “You were my best student! And now you join my enemies?! How can you betray me so?!” “You taught me more than you even knew yourself. In fact, I think I myself could take you down, with this power.” He grinned at me. “It’s on!” I nodded. “Everyone, block the exits and get out of the way. This is a fight that could get a little messy!” As everyone scrambled to their places, we circled each other like two... um... what was that great simile... I think it involved jungle cats or something. Jungle cats that were doing something in particular. Oh, well. AND NOW I’M GOING TO PULL A TOP AND SAVE THE BATTLE FOR THE NEXT PART! |
