Craig tapped his torch, strapped to his shoulder, that he'd just noticed had went out. It immediately light up, obliterating the darkness in milliseconds, reflecting off the plain concrete walls, illuminating the stairwell brilliantly in yellow tinged light. He stood up to his full height, holstering his pistol and walked to Arianna, his face now showing a warm smile, happy to see another survivor. He was about to take her offer of a handshake when he heard his radio flare up and Jordan begin to speak over it. Craig's smile dropped as he realised his friend would be in deep shit if he didn't get out there soon. "Sorry we can get acquainted later." He shot past her, taking the next flight of stairs with a leap and landing half a foot clear of the last step, landing on his toes and going into a crouch to absorb the impact, his hand touched the ground for a moment before he sprung back up like a coiled spring. He darted down the stairs taking two at a time, realising jumping them would kill his legs. He reached second floor and heard a crunch above him, he glanced through the open door onto another open plan office, this one without dividers so he could see straight to the glass wall. The world went silent for a moment as if taking a breath as something huge was about to happen. And it did, the helicopter that had crashed into the building, the one that had brought Jordan and himself to wherever they were now, plummeted past the window, landing near what he assumed was the entrance to the building. It was a reckless decision but one that he'd stand by as an awesome one for the rest of his life. Craig launched himself towards the window, barrelling through the office, the last few feet he drew his pistol and fired two rounds into the sheet of glass he was running for, weakening it. He used his arm to shield his face and he crashed through the window, just clearing the twisted wreck of the helicopter in the process. He landed with a roll, a hail of glass rained down behind him. He got to his feet, brushing the glass from his clothes, which he noticed were tattered and had some blood on them. "Ah bugger." |

Dog reached Arianna as Craig took off down the steps. He emmited a quiet bark and his eyes flashed in anticipation. "So there are zombies down below huh." She patted him on the head and followed Craig more gracefully. She quickly followed the light his torch gave off though he was faster than her. Dog followed in front making sure the stairs were not breached. Soon she reached the point where he had jumped out the window. She heard the groan from the building and followed Craig and out the window she went. She felt as is time slowed down and she smiled as she came down to earth. She rolled gracefully and avoided the wreck of the helicopter. She had a few pieces of glass on her, but Craig had taken care of most of it. She heard a whine and looked up. "Come on Dog don't be a baby." Dog lept out of the window shortly after getting called a baby. he landed on his feet but stumbled on the impact of the ground. "See that wasn't so bad!" She gave him a pat on the head and looked at Craig. "Where to now cowboy?" She grinned and walked up to him. she heard the low moaning of zombies finding a feed. "We should find your friend and get out of here, we can aviod them if we are quick." She smiled and pulled her pistol from its holster. |

The streets were cold, and they were also zombie infested so Jordan was being very cautious as he stepped through the door, there were several of the undead stumbling about the streets giving out the same disturbing death groan but so far none had noticed Jordan,so he crouched low and moved quietly towards a nearby car,he ducked down and raised his head slightly,he knew Craig was in the building just across the street, but he was going to have a hard time getting across the street without being noticed by the zombies Great what am I going to do now, fighting is going to be difficult but it looks like it might be the only way Jordan didn't want to have to risk things like this but he didn't have much choice,he unzipped the supply bag had put his hand inside and began to rummage through its contents, but he suddenly stopped when he heard a rather loud noise coming from above the streets That cant be good Jordan was right it wasn't,he looked up and saw the black mass falling towards the street,he knew fine well what it was, he just didn't want it to be that, but he didn't have a say in it,the helicopter they arrived in was now coming crashing down to the streets below it,and was going to land very close to were Jordan was and he didn't really have time to move "OH FUCKIN HELL" Jordan roared as he quickly crouched lower behind the car and covered his head with his arms,a few seconds later the helicopter hit the ground with a deafening crash,Jordan was sure it had landed on a couple of zombies which was a good, although it had also nearly tipped the car he was behind so not everything was good,as Jordan was getting up he heard what sounded like glass shattering,he looked over and noticed Craig had just appeared and there was glass all round him, that plus the broken window above him made Jordan come to the conclusion that he had jumped Would have been a hell of lot more funnier if he went an broke both his legs he thought to himself while grinning slightly Jordan was about to shout on Craig when he noticed somebody else jump down,it was a woman, another survivor, this was good to know, she quickly looked up and got something else to jump down, and it was a dog "Great she has a fuckin dug"Jordan spat slightly as he quickly made his way towards the two of them "Nice entrance mate, and its nice tae see your alive and well"Jordan said with a little sarcasm in his voice,he quickly glanced at the woman "New burd I see,and she has a dug as well...great"he said with even more sarcasm than the first time There were several groans just behind them and Jordan thought it was time to move "Yeah look introductions can wait till later, right now a suggest we get a fuckin move on and find somewhere to get away from the zombies right now!" |

Craig noticed a shape come into his line of sight, he wasn't as alert as he should be, having just performed a leap of faith from the second floor of an office block while raining down glass and jumping the wreck of the helicopter he'd arrived in. It didn't take him long to realise it was Jordan, the voice was the real give away, apart from himself, Jordan was the only other Scott as far as he knew for the next 3000 miles. Craig smiled slyly as Jordan commented on his preferred method of rapid urban exit. "Couldn't help it. It was awesome, should try it sometime, it's even more fun than it looks in the movies." He looked round to Arianna and her dog, aptly named Dog apparently, as Jordan mentioned her. "Yeah, you know what it's like outside Scotland. The lassies just can't get enough of the accent." He grinned. "It's good to see you're holding up too mate, but we better get our arses in gear before we find ourselves in a balls to the wall fire fight with the undead. Here you might need this." Craig took the shotgun that hung behind him and handed it to Jordan, then quickly fished a box of shells from his backpack and handed them to him as well. "It should be fully loaded." He holstered his pistol and took the M4 carbine from his back, gave it a quick scan and checked the chamber was loaded. He knew it was bad practice to carry a chambered weapon around on his back, and the FAA would have a field day on him, but fuck them, he didn't see any of their members walking about killing off zombies. |

Arianna observed the newcomer carefully. She gave soft laugh at Craig's joke about Scottish accents. Dog stood by her side his hackles raised as he looked at Craig. He growled low and swung his gaze to Jordan. He barked sofly, but not aggressivly at him. Arianna tugged on her braid and waited for them to get weapons situated. It was gloomy out and rain started trickling from the laden clouds. " It would be easier if we could get out of the city but if we must stay here I know of a place that would be safe for the night." She looked up at the gathering dusk warily. "We shouldn't wander about in the dark and rain." She smiled warmly at the two men. Her green eyes flickered with mischief as the groaning of the undead increased. (Dog has some thoughts) Dog snorted in disgust at the first human male he had encountered. he didn't like him one bit. He knew better than to be loud, the zombies were near. He turned and observed the new human male. He didn't seem like a threat to Dog at the moment so Dog decided he wouldn't bother him. He looked up at his master imploring her to hurry up so they could get back to their shelter. He hoped the first human wouldn't tag along. |

Jordan took the shotgun and shells from Craig,he took some shells and placed them in his pocket the put the rest in the supply bag,he then checked the gun was fully loaded,it was a rather large and haevy model, but then again it was a shotgun so he had no complaints "Thanks mate this should help"he said happily. Jordan took another glance at the woman who was with Craig as her dog gave a bark The accent, yeah right he thought while smiling to himself, the rain started to fall slowly,it was a slight drizzle,it wasn't much but it still reminded him of home,he would rather be back in rainy Scotland, not holed up in an nameless, zombie infested city like this, but it wasn't like he had much of a choice. Jordan little reminiscing was cut short by the groans of the nearby zombies, now slowly slumping towards them, they seemed to have recovered from the crash and and now decided to try and have a bite of the survivors. Jordan quickly turned round, aimed at the approaching zombies and fired, making sure to aim lower as the kickback would force his arm up,and it did quite a bit,he wasn't used to using heavy and more powerful guns, even though they were a good distance away Jordan thought it was best to try and slow them down, the shot managed to scrape two or three of the ones close together, and one zombie stumbled and fell down to its knees "OK we move NOW!" |

Craig raised his face to the sky as the rain fell to earth, the rain was cold, it ran down his face and neck, soaking into his clothes and hair. It reminded him of home, and how it would always seem to rain when you least expected it to, or when you had somewhere to go. He heard the groaning and immediately snapped out of it, his body adopting a combat ready position in an instant, the water sprayed from his hair and gun a as they moved too fast for the rain to follow. He levelled his M4 at the zombies, expending a single round into the skull of the zombie which was now on it's knees. The back of it's head exploded outwards as the slug tore through it's brain, exiting it a vibrant red mist that, despite the rain, hung in the air for a moment. He quickly moved his aim from zombie to zombie, taking down another two, hitting one in the right eye, and another through the mouth. He kept his aim on the group as he moved round them in a wide arc, hopping slightly as he did. He reached the far side of the group, after unloading a few more rounds into the gathering to try and slow them, and broke into a run, lowering his gun to focus on avoiding the random debris on the street. He wasn't sure which direction was the right one, he hoped that the others had moved as quickly as he had and were right behind him. He reasoned that if this direction took him out of the way of a hungry zombie hoard, it was good enough for him. |

Arianna shook her head at the two trigger fingers. She followed Craig into the fray. She didn't even bother to shoot and put her pistol in it's holster. She concentrated solely on running. She caught up to Craig and passed him with ease. "Follow me." She spurred herself on panting a little. She hoped they could keep up. Her braid bounced up and down on her back and she smiled as she ran. The rain was coming down in fast sheets now. Dog bounded beside his master. He kept up easily and wasn't even running as fast as he could. He dodged zombie nimbly. He now knew where they were going and this thought spurred him on. He gave a doggy grinand veered in front of Craig hoping to make him fall. Arianna knew that her goal was near as she spotted the turrets of a nearby prison. She ran to the gates and leaned against the stone wall behind her. Se panted and waited for the others to catch up. Dog followed close behind and lay down at her feet. |

Gunshots began ringing out all round the rain soaked streets, the sound was deafening, zombies were falling all round, blood was pouring to the ground,it was a chaotic situation and Jordan wasn't really all that happy about,as he bore through the ringing in his ears he ran after Craig and the woman, the woman was bolting ahead and Craig was following her all the while he was still firing at the zombies, and Jordan realised he should really do the same,he picked up is pace a little and raised the shotgun,he took aim and fired at the nearest zombie on his left, which was getting dangerously close The shot hit dead on in the zombies chest and the power sent it falling backwards, with a great deal of its internal organs blasted out behind it splattering all over the ground,Jordan then turned and fired at the zombies just behind them, two were hit,one was hit in the right shoulder causing it to stagger slightly the other was hit with much more force in the left arm causing the already rotted limp to be blown clean off,Jordan lowered the gun and decided to concentrate more on running The woman who was ahead of Craig and Jordan had just dived through some gates and behind the wall,Jordan raised his head and looked at the building,it was very large and bulky, strong gates and turrets Woah! are we goin to a prison, not really sure about that,an area meant to contain scum bags an now its containing scum bags who have been turned into zombies,am prayin they cells haven't opened he thought as he reached the gates |

Craig noticed Dog trying rather openly to trip him up, he'd got the notion earlier that the Doberman didn't like him but this was a bit much. Craig dodged Dog and hopped on top of a car, one of many clogging the roads. His boots made clunks with each stride across bonnets and roofs. He stopped short of the road leading to the prison, he crouched on the roof of a red Vauxhall Astra. He fired round after round into nearby zombies, there was only a second between each shot but after years on the rifle range, each shot found it's mark. The muzzle flare lit up the night with golden fire. For each zombie that fell to his practised marksmanship, another two filled it's place. He cocked his head back towards Arianna and Dog, who had been joined by Jordan. He shouted back to them. "I don't mean to alarm you! But it would be awful fucking handy if you could get those nice big gates operational!" Craig looked back to his killzone to find that a zombie hand managed to get close. He lashed out with the butt of the rifle, sending the zombie slamming into the ground, his foot planted firmly in the centre of it's chest, his heavy black boot overpowered the scrabbling zombie's attempts to regain it's previous advantage. Craig levelled his rifle with the zombie's wailing head and fired a single slug, then spat to the side. The slick black magazine fell from the M4, a mist of whisking smoke trailed from it as it lay on the chest of his last kill. He took another mag from his jacket and fed it into the slot. A round slid into the chamber as he pulled back the cocking mechanism. "I'd also like to point out that the zombies aren't getting any slower!" |
