So a few shouts got me thinking about this. What else to HP lovers read? I brought up Kim Harrison (its a pen name but whatev I <3 her!) My favorite series she's working on is called The Hollows. In short it takes place in modern day Cincinnati. Man never made it to the moon, instead most humans were wiped out by a virus biologically engineered and hidden in...
*DUN DUN DUN*
Spoiler: click to toggle

Anyway, after most humans died, Werewolves, Vampires, Witches and other magical species had to come out of hiding to help the economy not collapse and are pretty well integrated into society. An earth witch named Rachel Morgan (who quits her job as a 'supernatural' police woman so to speak) is the main character and it's all about her journey of self discovery. These books are funny, sad, and if you liked HP I think this would be another good series to get hooked on!

Now, what other books should we HP fans investigate?

I have not read them, but I hear the Hunger Games is quite excellent. I think I may read them before the movies come out. I am also a big fan of the Song of Ice and Fire series because the HBO show Game of Thrones is based off of it and that show is amazing.

I like trashy crime novels at the moment... I find them gripping, easy to read, and a well-needed contrast to my uni textbooks (which are interested, but definitely not easy to read). My favourite authors of that genre are Karin Slaughter, Kathy Reichs and Karen Rose.

Aside from this, I enjoy some fantasy style books. Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series is pretty amazing if you love the werewolf/vampire scene.

I had a friend mention to me that I should try reading the Songs of Fire and Ice series. So next payday I will buy them for my kindle.

Other than that I am a sucker for a good legal thriller. John Grisham's newest book The Litigators is on my list to purchase also.

My favorite type of fiction would be realism and hysterical realism. I'm a sucker for F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.D. Salinger, Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Pynchon, Don DeLillo, Jonathan Safran Foer, Jonathan Franzen, Saul Bellow, Philip Roth, and more. I think it's the English major in me, but I love books that make me think about my own world.

I enjoy the series to, but I've had to had a break. To much of the same thing. A lot of the time I entirely skip the sex scenes.

Same with Hamiltons Merry Gentry series. I've just had to stop. Too many sex scenes. If I wanted to read so much of it, I'd google it.

On another note. I enjoy Richelle Mead's weather warden series. && Tomorrow When the War Began. I read it in highschool and after the movie was released (which was amazing) I've started re-reasing them again. Its amazing how much you can forget in a few years.

Lets see, what else is on my kindle... Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series. Ophelia & Abby. Morganville Vampires, Abhorsen, Uglies, Georgia Kincaid (wowowow).

Anything by Wilbur Smith - he's just epic. Blue Blood series. Rachel Caine & Tanith Lee.
Works by Tanith Lee especially. The way she writes <3

Out of boredom from a few slow days at work, I started to read a really cheap series on Kindle. It's called "Cloud Prophet Trilogy." It's not absolutely fantastic, but it's an easy and interesting read. The first one is like 99c. Can't beat that for a decent book!
