Andreas Falkon

What a term, Andreas thought, relaxing in his favorite chair by the fire with a hot toddy beside him. It was only September and already the waves of work had flooded in, along with the eagerness and excitement of new students.

Between exploding eggs and conjuring fire, his student body seemed like a promising bunch, despite the fact that Miss Lilyth and Miss Wright shared the same air under his roof. He hoped no further foul play would occur between the twp, given their detention a few weeks ago.

He turned another page in his book on Egyptian charms found within the Book of the Dead, pausing to take a sip of his hot toddy and relish in its delightfully sweet flavor. How he enjoyed Fall, and all the excuses it gave for him to enjoy its gustatory charms. He shifted his pipe to the side, tendrils of golden smoke mingling with the smell of freshly burning wood in the hearth as he took another sip through the cinnamon stick straw before returning to his cerebral snack.

The entrance to the professors' lounge swung open, and Tuula Horn stepped through, her dark hair slightly dishevelled from dealing with a situation some first years had created in her Defence Against the Dark Arts class. She sometimes thought that giving an eleven-year-old a wand was a terrible idea - although she was a firm believer in practical lessons, some people definitely needed to hit the books before attempting anything.

The room was empty save for one person, much to Tuula's satisfaction. She was in no mood to deal with being around more people right now. She noticed the other occupant was Andreas, the Charms professor, whom she often thought of as the professor of charm; he had been placed at Hogwarts for longer than she had, and his suave manner and gentle German accent had always been rather pleasing to the woman. She gave a gentle wave as she crossed the room and took up residence in her favourite armchair. "Evening, Andreas," she said pleasantly as she pulled a stack of scrolls from her shoulder bag and placed them on the side table. NEWT-level homework, which needed grading and handing back the following week. "Pleasant day?"
