Was looking at a post over on the 'Zone, and found this link quite interesting. http://www.rat-look.com/help_guides/rusting.php I've been thinking of doing something different and Jake already talked about doing his touring in Matt Black (which I liked the idea of, but it's been done), so looking for other options. As most of you know, I already have a "shiny" car, so why not go the opposite way with the touring? A bit of surface rust can't hurt for a couple of years......

Not a good look imo Grant. Matt black can look cool if done right but the rat look just looks like the car has been badly neglected and is a heap of s**t . If your thinking along these lines because of the condition of the tourings paint/body work and dont want to respray it,i'd go the matt black route. Shouldn't cost alot to treat and fill the surface rust rub the car down and rattle can matt black. Plus if it turns out a sh*t paint job you'll have the rat look

Go Matt black Grant you better pretecting the body work. For the next CarTech meet bring some wet/dry and some rattle cans and we can all have a go. |

the rat look scene has seen everything from rusted bonnets, to roof racks with all sorts ontop. if you want it to be different, you will have to think outside the box to make it special. not just rusted pannels, no pannels maby? the rat look sometimes goes too far. http://datnut.dfrag.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/dsc_0025.jpg |
