"Lucy?" Liber said, "There is a strange man sitting next to me. I would almost think him to be that flamboyantly-dressed fellow from back in the road." Turning to this oddity, he pondered, "Now you really do look familiar, I just can't place where--" His voice cut off as he remembered a face, someone who escaped with him during the Fall. "So, you are Scian too, are you not? We escaped together, through the hidden tunnels of Salachar. What is your name? Vidal? Vilen? Vinal?" |

NAME: Rosaline Amabella Clairvaux Played by: Admiral AGE: 27 APPEARANCE: Rosaline doesn't particularly blend in with the crowd. Her large, sapphire-colored eyes seem to almost shine in the moonlight, causing the people around her to stare. Her long, silky brown hair toys with the wind; the two whisper frequently back and forth. She is about 5'6, with delicate features and a pretty, memorable face. Her smile is captivating, yet haunting at the same time; it always has a story behind it, yet the story is never revealed. Rosaline's attire isn't the flashiest, but it also isn't forgettable. She generally wears form-fitting dresses, with long, pretty sleeves that often hide her hands, and gloves that not only match her dress color, but fit her hands up to the wrist. From the waist down her dress has various layers, all made of light, durable material. Her clothing seems to repel any type of blood or liquid that gets on it, but the main reason for that is the fact that she is so careful, even when eating. WEAPON: Rosaline is skilled in the art of swordsmanship; she was taught early by her father before he disappeared. At about the same time she was initiated she picked up the art again, and taught herself the techniques with the sword she was provided. She has a newer, lighter sword now that allows her easy swings and among other things. She also has twin daggers that are always with her, hidden in her clothes in easy-access compartments. HISTORY: Rosaline tries her hardest to be happy, even though deep inside she is truly sad. Although she generally portrays being happy, she finds it hard to keep a smile when she is reminded of the Fall, the time where her parents vanished. She knows very well that if she ever found the person who betrayed them, she would easily give up her own life in order for them to forfeit theirs. She was initiated into the Scian early for that same reason, when she was about eighteen. She has learned the skill quite well since that point, and due to her current age she has a stable ranking in the Scian posts. She knows her job- and knows it well. She if often called 'Beau Trepas', meaning beautiful death, simply because of her appearance and the fact that she can so easily kill her enemies. They are generally unsuspecting, quiet, and smiling when they die; that is her style. Despite the fact that she has a memorable face, none of the people that see her ever connect her with the assassinations of certain other people; at the same time, almost all of the members of the Scian know her and her accomplishments quite well. Rosaline, unlike the other ex-Scian's in the tavern, was actually employeed there. She had a knack for forgetting things, and this time was no exception. She stood in a corner, sulking as her boss yelled at her for forgetting her apron. It was supposedly the most 'important' part of her uniform, but the only thing she used it for was to keep her tips in, which were astonishingly generous. When she needed a little extra money, she would always pickpocket one of the least sober men in the tavern, take the money, and stick it in her apron; it wasn't hard for a girl like herself to get within reaching distance of the men. This practice had been the cause of a couple of fights in the bar, but she was never suspected of anything. So, Rosaline started her shift, scurrying to the back and grabbing an apron from a wooden closet. She stepped out in her full uniform, a fluffy black skirt that went to just above her knees, a frilly white shirt with a V-shaped collar, white flat ballerina-styled shoes, and the black, dreaded apron. Age had been tender to Rosaline, surprisingly; her features still retained their usual warmth and her smile was still remarkable. Despite this, however, there were the usual changes that her late twenties brought. Her hair was put up into a neat ponytail, with a few strands bouncing against her cheeks with her steps. She was humming to herself as she walked up to the bar, a practice she had made a habit of. She exchanged a few looks and words with the bartender before picking up a tray, orders and heading off toward the respective tables to deliver. She smiled at all of the customers, thanking them before she walked off. When she was at the last table, she picked up the drink and looked up at the table where her old comrades sat, her eyes widening. Her grip relaxed and the drink fell, shattering the glass to pieces and spilling the drink at her feet. She gave a quick jump to escape the liquid, landing to the side of the puddle and apologizing quite a few times to the customer. As she walked off to get a mop, she stared at the table in an almost longing manner. She barely heard her boss barking at her and her actions following were slow and automatic; she swept the glass, mopped the drink, and grabbed a similar drink for the thirsty customer, all while her mind remained in a blissful, aloof state. |

Well, theres your answer. Scian...though I can't believe he went right out and said it like that. Nex thought, barely resisting the urge to cause a scene that would likely get the all caught. Instead he simply cleared his throat and turned his chair, facing the trio of ex-compatriots. "You know you three should probably be careful where you mention that name. I could make quite a lot off your three heads..." Yea right, if I was seen within a hundred miles of the collection house I'd be skinned alive... Apart from being ex-Scian himself a multitude of run-ins with the law had given him a bit of a bad reputation amongst head-hunters and lawmen alike. Edited by Ghost of God, 29 Mar 2008, 06:30.

Lucy simply gave Liber an amused grin and a shrug at his comment. Something about a guy whom Liber had just called gay not a half an hour ago plopping down next to him without asking just seemed laughable. And the reaction from her friend was priceless. But it seemed now was not the time to make a big spectacle out of things, more and more people seemed to be noticing them, which was either good or bad- it all depended on the people who noticed them. More ex-Scian members were good, anyone who was still out hunting for Scian heads, bad. This would be like an all-you-can-eat buffet for them. She'd leave Liber to grilling the once flamboyant man to figure out who he was, she turned towards the older man who came towards them. "One on three... wouldn't be a fair fight for you. And if you wanted our heads you would of come over to talk to us about it first." She scooted her seat over, smiling up at the new male. "Pull up a seat." Either he was there to kill them, or they'd drawn his attention with their talk. She decided it was probably not the first one, in which case it'd be benefitial to have him join them. |

Liber finally concluded, "It was Vinar, wasn't it? Probably a better thing that you changed into more normal clothes--that poor waitress would have positively ruined them. And you . . ." He said, turning to the other man, "I don't actually recognise you, but since we're all still alive here, I'd say you probably aren't too intent on having our heads--all the better though, it's really quite rude to just take another's head." What an interesting little reunion this was turning out to be, indeed. It would seem that the workings of Fortune did have some great plan for them after all. "But," he said, craning his neck back over towards the bar, "I do think I shall make acquaintance with that nice young waitress--she did seem rather distraught. Oh, the joys of saving a sweet damsel in distress! Anyway," he got up from the table, scraping his chair across the stone floor, "I shall leave you three to catch up in the meanwhile." "You have an interesting friend," Nex said, standing and taking the now vacant chair. "but if you guys really are from Scian then it might be worth my time." Normally he wouldn't go around trying to provoke a fight in a bar, but people who claim to be ex-Scian are dangerous liabilities. That was unless they actually were ex-Scian members, something they would have to prove to him one way or another. "Now, you're sure that you and your friends here are ex-Scian?" |

Rosaline's face grew red-hot. She turned away from the unusual visage and set the drink down on the table, apologizing once more to the customer with a smile. As the man made an attempt at snatching her hand, she gave a quirky little smile and a swift jump to the side, all in one motion so the man wouldn't notice as much. She turned and carried the tray from earlier back to the bar, setting it on top of some others before looking up at the bartender. "I don't know how much longer I'll last here, my friend..." She gave a small laugh, pretending to clean the counter as the boss walked past, "But I have a feeling the boss won't keep me around if I keep messing up like this. They're such small things, too..." She sighed, blowing a strand of chocolate hair out of her face before turning, just in time to see one of the men push out his chair. She gripped the counter feverishly before adjusting her apron and nodding at the bartender, picking up a few more drinks as well as orders. She delivered them quickly, giving her standard thank-you procedure all the while glancing to see what the man was doing. She gulped, finally holding the empty tray and heading over in his direction. She did a good job at hiding her nerves, and simply offered the man a kind smile as she coincidentally stepped in his way. "Hello, sir! Did you need any help?" She asked, glancing past him once to see the other members of the table, before shifting her eyes back to him and relaxing her grip slightly on the tray. |

(sorry for the wait, I was waiting to see if G'reth was gonna get on and post, but I've waited long enough) Lucy sighed and leaned back in her chair as Liber ran off to play knight again. Oh goodness, someone needed to tell that boy that some ladies didn't take kindly to being treated that way. It was really annoying to be fighting to be thought of as an equal to males and then to be condesended like that, even by a friend, felt like a huge step back. "Interesting? You're awfully nice to put it that way." She laughed, turning to face Nex insted of watching Liber. She set both arms on the table, grasping her cup in her hands. "I'm totally sure that I, myself, am ex-Scian. Liber as well... either he is or he's a hell of a good impersonator... I can't tell." She smiled innocently. Most likely to run into trouble because of trusting someone right here. |

((I'm not being chivalrous--I'm hitting on her! [And failing miserably, I might add] Don't give me so much credit. ))"Oh, no, no--I'm fine." Liber said as the waitress walked up to him. "I just wanted to make sure that everything was all right. You seemed kind of shaken up; almost like you'd seen a friend rise from the dead," he finished with a small laugh. The poor girl really did look pretty upset; Liber couldn't help noticing that she would habitually glance past him, pausing to look at the others at his table. You almost had to wonder what a girl like her was doing in a tavern like this--she could have gone anywhere, but settled here, working the day shift as a server. But still, she probably had a home, a family, maybe even kids, all of which were forsaken the moment he left Cassia. As his thoughts drifted on, he heavily leaned against a wooden support, worn smooth with age and the hands of passers-by. How long had it been since he had seen his sister, his family? It hadn't been before the Fall--about ten years then. In all that time, not once did he make any attempt at visiting them, or simply writing a letter. And his sister, Kali . . . she must be nearly sixteen now. All that time he had missed watching her grow up. What did she look like now? Certainly, she must look so much different from that sweet-faced little girl that he had left her. Edited by Corinth, 30 Mar 2008, 17:39.
