THE TIMES OF THE REPUBLICAN FEDERATION SATURDAY, JULY 26TH, 2008 FIRST EDITION REGIONAL FLAG QUESTION BROUGHT UP BY FOUNDER Yesterday, founder Tycoon City New York (former High Templar, Independent) brought up the question if the Republican nation should have an overall flag. He has appended a poll on the forum asking the question. So far, the poll has only received one vote, 1-0 in favor as of this issue. So far, few replies have been made to the subject. Vladimir Darkholme (Lenins Hammer), had this to say: "I believe we need a regional flag. It would give us a sense of belonging." Some time later, New Sorvunese Prime Minister Likako replied to Vladimir's statement, saying: "I don't see why any region would not want a flag of some kind. Question is what will it be?" Vladimir then said it was a very good question, and just recently Tycoon City New York stated that the citizens themselves could send in suggestions. ELECTIONS POSTPONED, NEW DATE SET Because the new Constitution took so long to ratify, elections were postponed until August 25th by the Senate. Foriegn Affairs News UNITED COMMONWEALTH ESTABLISHES FORUMS The United Commonwealth, led by their president, Americana, announced to the Republican state today that they have established their forums and have masks already set up. Senator Horadric England stated that the Senate would appoint an ambassador as soon as possible. PEACE OFFER WITH NEW SORVUN WITHDRAWN BY SENATE, TSRUHKWAH TO BLAME A peace offer was sent to the New Sorvunese by Senators Horadric England and Greater Cairo, Horadric England being the presenter. But almost immediately, New Sorvun Senator Tsruhkwah attacked, accusing Horadric England of being a puppet of Des Babylon. Horadric, obviously denied these claims. Newly-elected Prime Minister Likako and President La America attempted to defuse the situation, but the Senate, very angry about this, withdrew the offer. Likako visited the Republican state and stated: "Actually La America and myself (President and Prime Minister respectfully) were willing to listen to the offer, and Tsruhkwah always speaks his mind and we can not change that, and you must realize that he does not represent all of New Sorvun, he is speaking only of his opinions and they do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the other Citizens of New Sorvun nor the government, and I will be eager in waiting for the next time you bring forth a peace offer, but please don't withdraw it just because of one person's voice." Horadric England, sarcastically maybe replied: "Hard to bear that.." The Senate has stated they will try again in a few weeks, sending the offer to the president or Prime Minister.
