Pros
- Battling with a Pokémon caught in the wild or received from a promotion/starter/quest, if the trainer wins then they get fifteen experience rather than the usual ten.
- Trainers can enter the Zalen Tournament after collecting the necessary badges and defeating the Elites, whereas Breeders and Researchers can't.
- Trainers can attempt to teach their Pokémon higher-level moves before they actually reach that level.
Cons
- Pokémon bred and hatched from eggs by a trainer start out as level one and only gain ten experience against a Pokémon of the same level.
- Cannot breed hybrids as Breeders can.
Learning Higher-Leveled Moves
- Introduction: Trainers have the ability to try and teach their Pokémon different attacks several ranks higher than the Pokémon's actual level. For example, if you have a level seven Squirtle and you wish to attempt to teach it Water Gun, a level thirteen attack, all you would have to do is roleplay it out.
- Content: More content (more words, sentences, and paragraphs) will give you a better chance of having your endeavor approved on the first go-round. Remember that as you progress through this guide.
- Take It Slow: If you do decide to try and teach your Squirtle Water Gun (for example), make sure you take it slow. You don't want your little turtle spitting out a torrent of water on its first try, because that will get it declined almost immediately. So try and splay your attempt out in several parts.
- Part 1: A Little Squirt: Okay, so let's say that you choose to chop the content up into three parts. It could go something like this, for example: ""C'mon, Squirtle," Sammy urged, running a frustrated hand through her hair. "Like this. Squirt, pay attention!" She scooped up a handful of water from the river, raising it to her lips. The girl swished the liquid around in her mouth, then pursed her lips and spat it out in a delicate stream. Squirtle looked from his trainer to the arc or water, then puffed out his chest and released... a little squirt of water. Not much, but a good start." Of course, it should be a little longer than mine, but you get the picture.
- Part 2: Honing that Little Squirt: So your Squirtle finally managed to belt out a little stream of water. Focus on honing that skill, and help make it better. Like so: "Sammy nodded eagerly. "That's it, Squirtle! Now, try again. But make it more like this." This time, she lowered her whole face to surface of the crystalline river and sucked in a larger amount of water, though thoroughly soaking her face in the process. Sammy sat back up. The water flew from her mouth in a thicker stream. Squirtle blinked a couple times, seeming perplexed, but obliged. A small gush of water shot from his jaws, dousing Sammy's shirt." And repeat the process. Are you getting it?
- Part 3: Perfecting that Little Squirt: And finally, have your Squirtle make an attempt at a perfect Water Gun attack, but leave it open ended so your mod can declare if your Squirtle accomplished the task at hand or failed.
