Breeders are folk who breed and care for Pokémon. Most breeders stay in one place, learning under the guidance of an experienced specialist in a Breeding Center. They seek to mate carefully selected Pokémon to enhance specific stats in future generations, from appearance to DVs.
Pros
- Breeders have an added twenty percent chance of hatching a Shiny or Oddly Colored Pokémon from a regular egg, compared to the 0.1 and some odd percent of nonbreeders.
- Breeders can also breed Pokémon of different Egg Groups after receiving Mew's blessing in the form of an iridescent eggshell from the Tyidha Forest Shrine. *see Hybrid Breeding*
- The number of posts for an Egg to hatch is cut in half for Breeders.
- When a Pokémon is hatched from an egg under the care of a Breeder, it starts out as Level 5 instead of the usual Level 1.
- Pokémon hatched by the Breeder gain fifteen experience for every battle against a Pokémon of the same level.
- Breeders have their own Pokémon Tournament to test the strength of their bred Pokémon against others, called the Xrate Cup.
Cons
- Breeders cannot receive a Starter from the Wakeforest Lab. Instead, they must get an Egg from Luna Lavender in Aideann Village, though to make the journey they are granted a Guide. *see "Guides"*
- For every battle against an opponent of the same level that a captured Pokémon wins, they only gain eight experience versus the regular ten.
- Breeders cannot enter the Zalen Tournament, though they can collect Gym Badges and take on the Elite Four.
Breeding Hybrids
- Tyidha Shrine: In the depths of Reorae, Breeders are granted access to a dense area of woodland called Tysic Forest. A sacred monument known as Tyidha Shrine rests in the heart of the forest. Tyidha Shrine is said to have been set in the midst of the forest by Mew itself, and many have said that they even saw the legendary Pokémon floating around the Shrine. A soft melody perpetually echoes across the forest from the Shrine.
- Step 1 — Drakeshores and the Legend of the Flute of Innocence: To summon Mew to Tyidha Shrine, you must first obtain the Flute of Innocence, a legendary instrument touched by the power of a God once long ago. Report first to Avien Ashfield, a renowned breeder living in Drakeshores. After a little goading, Dr. Ashfield will relay to you the legend of the Flute of Innocence and direct you to Drakelore Lake, only a hop, skip, 'n a Route away from Drakeshores.
- Step 1 — Drakelore Lake and the Cave of Difference: For this next part, you will need a large water-type Pokémon and very large lungs, or just a water-type Pokémon and some scuba equipment that you can purchase from Drakeshores. Of course, if you don't have any water-types powerful enough to carry you (they will have to be able to learn Surf and Dive), then there is an above ground entrance to the Cave of Difference, though it will take longer to navigate.
