| A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Founded in 2010 by Phantom, Remains of the Republic has its roots in Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) for the PS2, becoming one of its most successful Europe-based clans. In 2015-2016, we were active on the new Star Wars Battlefront (2015) game. Though just a group of friends playing for fun occasionally, we still managed to win the EU Cup in a tournament. Every now and then we fire up our old PS2's to play SWBF2 again, all remaining players from the EU joining forces to play in friendly tournaments along with players from the United States, where there's a larger remaining user base. These days, RoR mainly functions as a homebase where old and new players meet up to stay in touch and play Battlefront as well as other games. |

Oh man,too much memories about good old times always make me sad. I still remember how I bought SWBF2 in a Saturn market. My mother was like:"OMFG you are too young for this, this is USK 16.Benni,NO!" But my father was like:"Oh come on,its good ol“ Star Wars,it cant be that horrific." As it turned out,it wasnt. So I started playing the campaign, named myself "BENNI",because I was too dumb to disable capslock, and I was immediately overhelmed and totally flashed by all this stuff.I played Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 before, but this was all new.So many maps,so many gamemodes, different classes. Soon me and a friend started playing splitscreen, which was til today the second best time I ever had in my entire life.We played so damn much, laughed about the A.I. and always thought "public enemy" was a bad thing, similar to "traitor",which was a achievement I always earned. This must have been around 2009,maybe 2010. The more I played, the more I wondered about this dubious thing called "multiplayer".I never had a multiplayer game before. So I carefully read the manual instruction and we went to a shop to buy this so-called "ethernet cable". Once I had it,I set everything up,made all these accounts you need for online playing and hosted a game, because I was too dumb to join a game. (the filter is really stupid,so I found no games) First map was Hoth CTF 1. Soon, some guy called "Vlad [RoR] joined and I made fun of his weird "ror-thing" behind his name. I remember him playing really good, but I am not sure anymore.I am not even sure about his name, but it was something Eastern-European. Second map was Deathstar CTF 1,which already was my favorite map in singleplayer/splitscreen.Me and my friend were always like:"Huuuh, what are they firing at all the time?!" The Vlad-guy left the game and soon a guy called "N3wCh3eese" joined. As soon was we faced each other,we started jumping around, just like all public weirdos you used to meet in this game.It was a great time. I used to play everyday and soon a guy called "JubJub" joined and later a guy simply called "Philipp". Soon enough all 4 of us jumped around and stuff. I dont exactly remember HOW,but someday I managed to join RoR Revolution. And now the best and most enjoyable time of life began. It started in the summer holidays in 2010.I played like 12 hours per day,I think I never reached this ever again. Not even today. It was so crazy: I woke up and started to play, then the day was over and the process repeated itself over and over again. School wasnt that hard back in those days,so I had enough time to play even after the holidays. Then,April 19 of 2011,I wondered what the website "www.ror-clan.tk" was.We owned a laptop back in the days, but I never really cared about it. I found this website and tried to join.Again,I was too dumb,so a nice guy called "Wodka" helped.Later,I found out that this guy is Jo. When I was finally a member,I changed my name to "BENNI.RoR". It got even better when I play, while chatting with the laptop.Totally awesome. Soon,I met a guy called "Love_Choyx",his real life name was Felix. I still remember him as it was yesterday: he was sometimes a real douchebag and apparently most of the other members hated him. He was close friends with Tuan and some other famous guy here, whose name I dont remember.I think he was finnish. At this time, the "Official glitching server" went online and I was totally flashed again. For my part,I loved the modified weapons. The glitching wasnt really important to me,although I knew 95% of all the glitches on nearly every map. (me and my friend hunted them in splitscreen) Then the day came, when Choyx and me played on the glitching server.I dont know what he was up to,but he bitched around because I killed him. I killed him one more time,he ragequitted and I NEVER met him again. Not ingame, not in the chat. If someone here knows "Kenobi",he knows more about Choyx. These 2 guys were absolute arch-enemies. Now to the sad twist of this beautiful story. It started when I bought "Call of Duty:Finest Hour" for Ps2.It was quite fun and my first real ego-shooter.I never played it as much as SWBF2,but quite often. Mid 2011,I discovered some game called "Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 3" in the shops.Since I liked "Finest Hour" so much,I thought this game would be cool too.Turns out it wasnt. At first I was totally overhelmed by the campaign (which is actually cool) and absolutely flashed by the intense multiplayer action, compared to the much slower SWBF2. (I am so sorry SWBF2  ) One thing bothered me though: I died much more frequently, which made me angry.I knew that something was wrong about the game. I had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE of mp shooters,of the mechanics,op weapons and stuff.SWBF2 turned out to be quite balanced. When I somehow discovered gameplay commentaries on YouTube,I watched a video that explained why MW3 is so bad.It opened my eyes. I wanted to return to SWBF2,but since was so intense,I had like no time to set everything up and play.Worst time of my life. (not really, but close enough) Until winter 2013,I played like 2 hours at all. School wasnt taking me up so much anymore, which allowed me my legendary comeback. I started playing again and discovered that I didnt really unlearn anything.Of course,I wasnt as good as Phantom,Michael or Rob,but I am sure my hit-and-run playstyle gave some people a hard time. I even participated in 5 cms and a couple of events. Now,we nearly reached the end of this lovely story. Shortly after my comeback I met this guy called Jet/Arceus and we became friends soon.He is a good player and a nice guy to chat with. The same goes for Norbi and Hendrik, which are both nice and funny guys. You always have a good time when playing with them. Now we reach the partly tragic part of the story: The downfall of SWBF2. For reasons I still dont really understand, there were nearly zero public players. Back in 2011,there were like thousands Spieler 1s,Juego 1s and Joeur 1s.I havent met one of them since 2011. Even players from the clans went inactive.Sad.Really sad. Late 2013/early 2014 marked the fall of TFR,an awesome clan with many awesome guys in it.The biggest tragedy next to the slow dying process of SWBF2. So,thats it.The story of my life. (?) Many clans rose, some fell, some fused. Many awesome guys, many funny guys, some jerks. It is history. And I know, that one clan will never fall,as long as we all keep it in our hearts: Remains of Republic. I remember when I started, good memories. I started SWBF2 at 2009 with my friend Raydracon. We had fun, we found some glitches, and more funny things. We didn't know what is multiplayer. I teached to Raydracon how to play SWBF2 then he said "You better than me, you are my master." Then I said "Really?" And he said "Yes." Then Raydracons little brother came to our house and asked "I'm really big fan of Star Wars, what is this Star Wars game?" Before when we started play SWBF2 me, Raydracon and his little brother played my LEGO Star Wars 2. At 2010 we Started multiplayer, I was just like this with Raydracon "OMG!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!" Oh I forget at 2009 my grandmother broke my PS2. I was just like this "Omg... No way." At Chrismas I got new PS2. At May 2010 I broke my SWBF2. I was just like this "OMG ! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" At June 2010 I got new SWBF2. One month later Raydracons little brother broke my new controller. I was like "OMG! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! He was very sorry. I was just 8 years old kid. But I meet nice and funny players and players what I never are they funny/nice or not. I never forget their names, Phantom, Koen, Tony-maul, Jet, Cody, Ashdragon, Michael, BENNI.RoR, Tom, Bensku, Mike, Ezioauditore, Earthanation, RoR Jo, Uffe, Chris, Chaos, Simon, Yoda, R2D2, Chosen, Thirstan, Pyrojockey, Gregori, Stefan, Destroyer, Darkstar, Obi-wan Kenobi, Anakin, Jack, Jacky, Megamaster, Marse, Gondelfin and David. I never forget these clans RoR, TFL, TFR, TSR, 666 and ROS. Some player know Raydracon and some players not. This is all what I remember. |

I remember Raydracon (but I thought he was spelled Raydragon) I played with him a lot ingame. I wonder if he remembers me. And the guy/girl (I'm not sure what gender he/she is) whose name you have hard time remembering is "hoity-toity" better known as "Jennifer" |

Raydracon is my friend in real life. We went to sane school, played football and go to fishing. Our parents are good friends. He lives at same city with me right now. I think he didn't left from SWBF2, he just forget it, he said it to me. Raydracon played SWBF2 in my PS2, actually it was SWBF2. He had many nicknames, GALAGSY was one of his nicknames. I know Raydracons real name, because we are neighbors.

For each tank built in the world... 131k of Teddy bears are made For each stock market that falls down... there are 10 versions of "What a wonderful world" For each corrupt person... there are 8k donating blood For each barrier that exists... there are 200k mats saying "Welcome" While one scientific is making a new weapon... there are 100 million of mums making a chocolate cake In the world, there's more monopoly money than dollards There are more funny videos in the internet than bad news all over the world LOVE has more results in google than FEAR For each person that says "Everything is wrong..." 100 couples are looking for children And for each weapon sold in the world... 20 million of people share a bottle of Coca-Cola There are still reasons to believe in a better world. | |
