| A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Founded in 2010 by Phantom, Remains of the Republic has its roots in Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) for the PS2, becoming one of its most successful Europe-based clans. In 2015-2016, we were active on the new Star Wars Battlefront (2015) game. Though just a group of friends playing for fun occasionally, we still managed to win the EU Cup in a tournament. Every now and then we fire up our old PS2's to play SWBF2 again, all remaining players from the EU joining forces to play in friendly tournaments along with players from the United States, where there's a larger remaining user base. These days, RoR mainly functions as a homebase where old and new players meet up to stay in touch and play Battlefront as well as other games. |

Just wanna post the grunt rifle's stats from game's source files here for information MaxDamage = maximum damage per shot DamageFinalDamage = not sure whats this but It might be that sometimes you do less damage after shooting some shots ShotDelay = Delay between each bullet you shoot This is important one because faster you fire, theoretically you can do damage faster but also your bullets will start to spray/spread sooner Thats why opposing rifle has more damage, to make up for the ShotDelay difference Empire grunt: ShotDelay = "0.166" MaxDamage = "60.0" DamageFinalDamage = "40.0" Rebel grunt: ShotDelay = "0.2" MaxDamage = "75.0" DamageFinalDamage = "50.0" CIS grunt: ShotDelay = "0.25" MaxDamage = "90.0" DamageFinalDamage = "70.0" Republic grunt: ShotDelay = "0.2" MaxDamage = "75.0" DamageFinalDamage = "50.0" Also, CIS grunt's tri-shot weapon takes the damage stats from the rifle too, but it obviously shoots 3 of them per 1 shot Edited by Michael, Jun 14 2014, 06:34 PM.

So the rebel trooper's rifle is much better than the stormtrooper's rifle. Interesting. |

at a distance yeah (less spread and more damage) in close combat not so much (faster shooting) well If my math is correct then rebel's rifle still kills you faster if both grunts hit every shot but it may be little easier to hit more shots with empire grunt due to the faster shooting but im not sure about that I'm more alarmed from seeing CIS SBD's rifle's damage and shotdelay stats... that's crazy accurate and deadly Edited by Michael, Jun 14 2014, 07:31 PM.

Even Einstein would not have been able to explain the damage output of the shotgun.

not that I can think of atm Koen and nemo, the shotgun takes more than just aiming the dot and firing to do maximum damage which may be why so many people complain about shotgun's damage on this game I didn't know this until like 2013 (I observed engineer bots because they oneshot almost every time) and now when I one-shot people on PC, people cry that I have aimbot But you're right its hard to explain xD (I could try but this post would be much longer lol) |

Well, short version: You have to hit all or most of the 8 "pellets" that the shotgun shoots each shot.. (end of the short version) to do that you can't just aim and shoot like with other weapons... if you do, then it will randomly do lot of damage and very low damage sometimes. With my observation I noticed that engineer bots need 1-2 shots to kill humans while humans need 5+ unless theyre really close Well many probably knew that already, so how to hit more of the "pellets" than you do now? I was trying to figure that out for quite a time... and I came into conclusion that you need to "position" your character's body so that the trajectory of the shots is likely to hit the enemy's body with more "pellets", each of those "pellets" or "shots" (8 with each shotgun round) does it's own damage, so by hitting more of them you multiply it. So what I said was to "position" your body. But Wtf does that mean youd probably ask. xD well that's the hard part of the explanation and you'd have to be shown to understand it better... But using your body movements (strafe for example) to make the precision aiming while following the enemy with your right stick will usually do more damage because you're creating a "trajectory" between your own body(shotgun) and the enemy's body I'm still trying to perfect this and I probably explained it badly and half of the story but well, I said it would be difficult xD I'll try to record an example tommorow... xD Well they asked. Why won't you play on gamemaster btw? http://youtu.be/eZBMq80deXw That clip shows that even if you aim perfectly with the aiming dot (the second shot) then it doesn't mean you're going to do damage The 3rd shot when I kill someone, notice the way my body is positioned before shooting... and also the shotgun hardly spreads compared to the 2nd shot eventhough I was aiming on target. So before shooting you have to position your body to make sure all 8 shots hit the target.. try to experiment with it a bit and maybe you'll find out how to do it cause I can't explain it better I think xD I know this isnt the best example because its in close combat but I had problems recording so I just chose this Edited by Michael, Jun 15 2014, 03:53 PM.
