| A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Founded in 2010 by Phantom, Remains of the Republic has its roots in Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) for the PS2, becoming one of its most successful Europe-based clans. In 2015-2016, we were active on the new Star Wars Battlefront (2015) game. Though just a group of friends playing for fun occasionally, we still managed to win the EU Cup in a tournament. Every now and then we fire up our old PS2's to play SWBF2 again, all remaining players from the EU joining forces to play in friendly tournaments along with players from the United States, where there's a larger remaining user base. These days, RoR mainly functions as a homebase where old and new players meet up to stay in touch and play Battlefront as well as other games. |

Anyone want to test LAN tunneling program for ps2 online games? So when gamespy shuts down we could still sometime get together and play. There are 2 programs that can do this, Xbs Link and Xlink kai... Im gonna use Xbs link for this tutorial.. Download xbs link: http://www.seuffert.biz/xbslink/downloads/61 also you need Wincap and .Net 3.5 installed on your pc.. if u dont have it then download: https://www.winpcap.org/install/ http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21 For xbs link to work, your pc has to be connected to same Router as your ps2. When you start it, go to settings, network tab and on the bottom you will see "always forward MAC list" specified in the picture ![]() Now you need to start your ps2 up, without disc inside. While in main menu of ps2, press Triangle button to bring up "version information". Now you will see your "MAC Address". Type it exactly like you see it into the place in the picture I specified with blue color and click add. Now save settings and click on "start engine". Now if you get message that port or firewall is blocked, then you'll have to disable your firewall (or give exception to xbslink) and/or Open the port in your router settings. How the hell to Open port? Well go to xbs settings and network tab, you'll see "incoming port" thats the one you have to open. Now to actually open it or "forward it" go to http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm and choose your router and it will walk you through it. That site has more useful info if youre curious. If all is done you can go to "Clouds" tab in Xbs and create or join new games (when you do, in swbf2 you should see the game in "LAN" session list) I know this is bit difficult for some of you but it's not hard to read about this stuff for 10 mins online to understand it abit. Also Im not sure if dedicated server works with this method but i wouldnt count on it. |

I tried Xlink a while back. While I could get to work with my PS2, I could not get ti to work with dedicated severs. Check my forum thread. Others are currently trying as well. Check here. I hope they have better luck than I did. |

We're in the process of talking to the openspy (developers) on twitter, they assured us they would get it up by summer. |
