| A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Founded in 2010 by Phantom, Remains of the Republic has its roots in Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) for the PS2, becoming one of its most successful Europe-based clans. In 2015-2016, we were active on the new Star Wars Battlefront (2015) game. Though just a group of friends playing for fun occasionally, we still managed to win the EU Cup in a tournament. Every now and then we fire up our old PS2's to play SWBF2 again, all remaining players from the EU joining forces to play in friendly tournaments along with players from the United States, where there's a larger remaining user base. These days, RoR mainly functions as a homebase where old and new players meet up to stay in touch and play Battlefront as well as other games. |

Ok swbf2 people, I decided to make this topic because I noticed many people want to record gameplay but don't really know how. I will include picture for every action you need to make in order to record your own gameplay. Requirements: Recording device, I use this Easycap and some of people I know of use it too or have similar devices, but that doesn't mean you can't use any other device Additional requirements: you only need these if you wish to play on your television while recording at the same time without any recording lag, but im warning you, there is common problem with brightness if you play on tv while recording on pc/laptop its basically just more dark its still playable and much better than playing on pc in my opinion. first thing is AV splitter its being sold in many electronics stores just say you're looking for av splitter(in your language the word splitter) av means audio video, this is how AV splitter looks like Click here for picture second thing is additional av cable, you dont need to buy this mostly,it comes with every Dvd player it looks like this Click for picture I will write how to connect all of it at the end of part 2 download VirtualDub,its good program for recording but it can also do some basic editing, download:Click for download download is ffdshow codec(for small files and good quality) if you want to use your codec theres no problem but I recommend ffdshow,download:http://www.mediafire.com/?roy8lqygeu6bjt5 I'll post this as 2 posts for better reading/understanding,this was part 1 with requirements which you need before going to part 2 Edited by Michael, Feb 11 2013, 10:09 PM.

Ok first of all if you think its too hard or too long right now,im writing it with as much details as I can so it is easier for you,it is very easy to do once you learn things trust me:) When you're ready downloading, installing and settings up things from part 1 then you should probably restart you computer so the changes made are aplied.then youre ready to follow these steps STEP 1: Connect your device to your computer/laptop and Open VirtualDub program Step 2: Choose "Capture Avi" as shown On this picture Step 3: Go to "Device" and choose your device you use to record as shown On this picture Step 4: If you aren't playing on your television but on your pc screen then choose "preview" in Video as shown On this picture Step 5: Now you should see your tv screen in virtualdub. It's time to choose "Compression" from "Video" as shown On this picture The window will show up,choose Ffdshow video codec as shown On this picture Now click on "Configure" on the right side of this window and another window will show up,be 100% sure it looks same as On this picture, press ok after you're all set with this Step 6: Head up to "Set capture file" in "File" and choose where you want to save it and also choose name of the file. Location of "Set capture file" is shown On this picture Step 7,Final step: Now you're ready to capture some kickass kills and skills xD, head up to "Capture" and choose "Capture video" as shown On this picture Now you are recording your gameplay, you may notice the screen on your virtual dub will be little more laggier if your computer is not very good, but it is the price you pay for not playing on your televison ![]() ___ If you run to any problems of any kind just reply and I or other members will try to help you. Now, as promised I'll explain how to connect av splitter and additional av cable to play on your television while recording on your computer. Personaly I connect only YELLOW cables because other 2(red and white) are for sound, and I don't need to record sound because I add up so songs to video ![]() first lets write things you have to connect, 1 Av cable that came with your PS2,1 additional AV cable (mentioned in part 1),AV splitter(mentioned in part 1) and Easycap(or other recording device. So first connect your easycap(or recording device) to your computer/laptop Then connect 1 yellow cable of "additional" av cable to yellow cord of Easycap(or recording device) Then connect your AV splitter to your TV's yellow cord Then connect your 2 remaining Yellow cables to AV splitter's 2 yellow cords Thats it,you might run into weird things like no signal in tv or weird lines but it will go away if you movie with the splitter or cables So thats it people enjoy Edited by Michael, Aug 31 2012, 05:07 PM.

Nice topic, thought about writing one too, but too lazy xD What you should add is, that if you got Windows 64-bit you have to deactivate the "Driver Signature" or the driver won't be recognized/loaded. "If you got a Windows 64-bit version you have to disable the driver signature or the Video Grabber driver won't be loaded. You have to press "F8" while computer is starting (before Windows is loading) and choose "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" ( It should look like that ). Then you can install the driver for the Video Grabber. Attention: You have to do that EVERYTIME you start your computer, if you want to record." There are other ways like using programs or changing systemfiles, but that's too complicated. |

thats really weird, are you sure you used same codec? and try choosing "preview" in video and then choose preview acceleration and choose interlaced or progressive and is your computer very old? because im on laptop which sucks and it doesnt lag much,if you want no lag then play on television ![]() edit: also try clicking on "audio" and uncheck "enable audio capture" and if it lags while you record, just ignore it and stop capture and check if the video file lags(which is created where you saved it) Edited by Michael, Mar 6 2012, 07:21 PM.

never happened to me but most likely you're trying to record in NTSC mode with pal recorder or vice versa, go into video settings and look for ntsc to pal or vice versa option |
