Dr. Frederick "Dr. X" Xavier woke to the sound of moaning from a king-sized bed. He had been sleeping in a house that had been put up for sale right before the outbreak. He woke up with a slight headache and barely recalled fleeing the abandoned warehouse where he had been living for the past week. That experience made him really appreciate his new lodgings.

---

He remembered hacking through a lone zombie with his hatchet to leave the warehouse. Before he knew it he was being trailed by about a dozen of the undead. It looked like the end. While running through the streets to avoid being bitten he ran down an alley with a chain link fence running perpendicular to the walls on either side of him.

"Shit," Dr. X said as he looked behind him at the shambling horde. Then he realized that the fence was an opportunity, not an obstacle. He scrambled up the fence and barely got over the top with all of his stuff. The zombies were slowed by the fence only momentarily before they knocked it down. This was enough time for Dr. X to get out his blood stained hatchet and get a good head start.

About ten minutes later it looked like the zombies were going to catch him when some poor soul shouted to get Dr. X's attention. That man distracted the zombies long enough for Dr. X to reach the Milton Heights gated community. There were a couple zombies, presumably former residents, who were quickly dispatched.

Then he saw it. There was a house that had been up for sale and was unlocked so that potential buyers could look around.

"The realtor must have been bitten before they could lock up the house," Dr. X thought to himself. He entered, locked the door, and barricaded all the doors and windows with the furniture on the first floor.

It started getting dark and Dr. X decided to turn in for the night in the plush master bedroom. Before that he searched the house and found no zombies. This house had been a lucky find. To celebrate Dr. X broke out a bottle of Jack Daniel's that he had in his backpack.

As Dr. X was pacing around his new bedroom, he got an idea. He took a white bed sheets from a linen closet and hung them out the window so the house could be seen by other survivors...if there were any.
