The Law of Reciprocity For every action, there is an equal an opposite reaction. For every force under heaven, so exists it's countermeasure. In a game full of know it all elitists on one hand and those who choose to stand in the fire on the other, we come to the World of Warcraft as the solid and unyielding center. Our mission and our reason for existence is to provide a progression minded raiding environment for those who possess the skill to do so, yet do not feel at home or comfortable analyzing spreadsheets and other minutia. Though we demand and expect each and every player to know their class, we feel that the "medium core" gaming experience is an under explored yet powerful concept. In this we find our True North and underlying philosophy. Rules: 1. Under no circumstances is trade chat to be used for any purpose other than for actual trading of items or services, looking for groups, or asking a legitimate and valid question that pertains to in game material. While you are allowed to use non guilded alts should the need for trolling be more than you can resist, we will expel, without prejudice, reservation or warning, any player using a toon within the guild for trade chat trolling. No exceptions. Ever. 2. Know and research your class. You are expected to, of your own accord, do all necessary reading up on the latest changes to your class. This includes knowing what gems, enchants, etc, are optimal for performance. Though we do not require theory-crafting materials such as spreadsheets, etc, we take player performance very seriously, and we expect out members to as well. 3. Required add-ons are as follows: Deadly Boss Mods Omen And while not an add-on, per se, we do require each and every member to have ventrillo installed and to be on vent during raids. No exceptions. (not having a mic is fine, but you must at least be able to listen) 4. As with the up to date changes for various classes, we expect members to be knowledgeable on current end game content. Players are expected to have watched videos on all relevant content prior to raid on any given evening. We do not expect you to know everything about a new encounter, though we do expect you to have watched and read available material and to have some idea as to what you can expect. 5. Be respectful. Constant AFK's during raids, back seat raid leading, and general asshattery to other members is not tolerated. Remember, you get what you give, be an asshole to a fellow member, and you'll get every last bit of it, and them some, returned within short order (and probably booted from the raid and/or guild). 6. All members are expected to be *at* the raid when invites are sent. Raids are put on the calendar at least a week in advance, and there is no excuse to be running dailies or a random dungeon when raid time rolls around. If you are not prepared, you will be benched for that nights raid, even if it means pugging to replace you. 7. We are a mature raiding guild, with an immature sense of humor. If coarse and sometimes extremely adult conversation bothers you, or you are less than 18 years of age, this guild is simply not for you. Best of luck in your future endeavors. 8. In addition to knowledge of one's preferred class, performance is also measured and noted in raid. Things such as "standing in fire" attacking boss when you should be on adds and vice versa will not be tolerated. Players exhibiting trouble in this area will be counseled in private and given an opportunity to improve. Failure to do so will lead to actions up to and including being removed from the raid roster, being ejected from the raid should we feel it appropriate, and possibly even ejection from the guild should the Guild Mistress and Field Marshal be in concurrence that it is warranted. The Guild Mistress and Field Marshal practice an open door policy. Members are encouraged to bring any and all questions to them at any time. No question is too "noobish" and we will make every effort to point members in the right direction and "help you help yourself". In addition, we ask that members with a grievance or complaint against another member bring those to the GM/FM. They will be handled promptly. All the aforementioned items are the things that we believe are necessary to cultivate a strong and well coordinated raiding group. It is expected that all applicants reply in this thread with "accepted and agreed". Failure to do so will result in the nullification of your application. |
