Name of Race: Tsaryn Creator: Cendrillon History: Descendents from the same stock as humans and dwarves, the ancestors of the Tsaryn were primarily forest and plains dwelling peoples. Over eons they began to evolve to fit the unfilled niches in their environment, growing taller, stronger, and better equipped to digest and process even the harshest of plant material. They grew attached to the land, evolving carapaces to shield their bodies from the worst of the sun’s rays, allowing them to farm and process the plains even under the worst weather conditions. From these simple origins, a race of peaceful farmers came into existence, until ultimately they grew apart from their human and dwarves brethren, becoming their own separate breed. While similar enough to still breed with other humanoid races, such unions do not usually produce viable offspring, and so the Tsaryn tend to keep to themselves and their simple lives. They do not participate in wars and battles unless said conflicts threaten their farming fields or the very land that they worship. General Description: Perhaps one of the most humble races on Lorwyn, the Tsaryn are a people that embody the salt of the earth. Peaceful and all around accepting of other cultures, so long as they are good aligned, they have a natural curiosity in regards to other races, and while most Tsaryn do not like to travel, they happily welcome outsiders into their midst. It is not uncommon for members of this race to frequently interact with human settlements, often times working out trade agreements with the smaller more fragile race; Tsaryn crops are prized for their nutritional value by many cooks and chefs, and often times many noble households possess contracts with Tsaryn farms, providing textiles, pottery, and clothing in exchange for food. Age Range: Maximum age of 75 years Location/Environment: Various farmlands throughout Lorwyn, usually next to forests. Physical Attributes: Though mostly humanoid in appearance, Tsaryn stand taller then their brethren, on average 6’5” for both males and females. Both genders are powerfully muscled, giving them a brute appearance that is rather intimidating to other races. Hard chitine plates cover the back of their hands and run up their arms and down their backs, providing a sort of natural armor against both enemies and the elements. Thick curling horns akin to ram’s sprout from their temples during puberty; the size of a Tsaryn’s horns is an indication of their general health: those who are in peak shape have larger and more lustrous horns, while those that do not work or ingest the right nutrients have stunted and rather fragile horns that are prone to breaking. Tsaryn have incredibly sharp and durable teeth, though not for reasons that many races assume. Their entire populous is composed of herbivores, and they feed on some of the roughest vegetation, which most other species cannot digest. In order to process this plant material, the Tsaryn evolved with large fangs that they use to puncture and work through things such as tubers and even young wood. Tsaryn generally have dark brown hides and even darker hair; it is common custom to let the hair grow long and thick, resulting in an almost lion-like mane in most males. Eye color ranges from green to a peculiar light blue, though hazel is never seen, except in members who have members from other races in their heritage. Main Religion: An abundance of earth and harvest Gods/Goddesses. Preferred Classes: While it is rare that any Tsaryn takes up weapons and fights, they do especially well as axemen and brawlers, due to their sheer physical strength. Those that choose to become mages tend to work with druidic magics. Race Abilities: Earthspeak: [Novice+] The ability to know how to care for various plantlife, including how to nurture, transplant, and even kill it if necessary.
