(OOC: You kinda jumped the gun on me there CEMP, but oh well. Oh, and B, let me know if this stuff is cool with you.)

"Get ahold of him!!!" The lieutenant shouted as Reg thrased around violently, the troopers struggling to maintain their grip. Tentacles were sprouting from his body, but they weren't getting very long, nor was his body undergoing the transformation they had all been warned about. They needed to get him into quarantine quickly, and they were running low on tranqs. Fortunately, they were in the middle of the police station, and an officer had been dispatched to replenish their supply.

One of the troopers had a different idea, and reached for a high voltage taser on his belt. Before he could zap Reg, however, the lieutenant grabbed his wrist to stop him.

"Nothing electrical! Nothing electrical!" He had seen all the scans, read all the reports. Using electricity on this subject could be disastrous.

One more tranq slowed him down significantly, but didn't knock him out. He was still thrashing about, but finally with great effort, they were able to shove him into the cell and secure the door.

This was no ordinary holding cell that Reg was thrown into. It was a quarantine cell, deep in the lower recesses of the station. The door was sealed with a sophisticated electronic lock, and there were no bars, but thick shatterproof glass and a blast door. These cells were designed for holding the nastiest freaks the galaxy had to offer. The lieutenant didn't know if it would hold Reg after his metamorphosis, but it was their best shot.

..........................

In contrast to Reg, Spurious was treated quite well by the police, as she was not a prisoner nor a suspect. She was given a police issue T-shirt and sweatpants so that she could have some clothes, and they led her into a small meeting room while Twilight was asked to wait in the lobby. They didn't take her to an interrogation room, as she wasn't thought to be a criminal. She wasn't considered dangerous, either.

After a few minutes, a tall, thin detective holding a thick manila folder joined her in the room. "How are you doing, Miss?" he asked, his manner friendly and welcoming. "I'm Detective Moss. You're probably wondering why you're here." He took a seat and placed the folder on the table. The file was almost as thick as a copy of Moby Dick, and Spurious's overactive imagination was no doubt going into overdrive at what could possibly be in there.

"When was the last time you saw your sister, Miss Winters?" Moss asked. He opened up the file and placed a photo in front of Squirt, an old mugshot of Trisha. Her face was pale and covered in little cuts and scrapes, and her hair was a mess. Squirt might even remember this particular incident, one of many in which their merry band had found themselves in GFed custody. "This is your sister, isn't it? Trisha Winters, a.k.a. Trisha Summers. Wanted for robbery, too many counts to mention; smuggling, too many counts to mention; trafficking, larceny, you get the idea."

Moss studied the look on her face. He couldn't tell if it was confusion, shock, or if she was simply intimidated by what was going on. However, he didn't know what else he could do to put her at ease.

"I don't know how much you know about what your sister does for a living," he continued. "But I'm going to assume nothing. You don't show up in any files except as her contact."

He placed another pair of mugshots in front of her, these of Ben and Nick. "Her cohorts," Moss said. "The crew of the Grace. Nick, last name unknown. Ben, last name unknown, a.k.a. Ben Peters, a.k.a. Ben Tyler, a.k.a Benjamin Button, a.k.a. Benji Bones, a.k.a. Benny the Bulldog. He's the captain. These are shady people your sister runs with, and they associate with some even worse characters."

Another picture, this one a surveillance photo of Ben, Nick, and Trisha out on the balcony of a beach house, apparently having a meeting with a tall man with long, gray hair. There was a younger, dark-haired man in the picture as well. "That's Savage Henry Callahan, the mob boss," Moss said, pointing to the man with the ponytail. "And that's his right hand man, Jimmy Vega. This is the company your sister and her friends keep. Well, not so much these guys anymore... they're on Callahan's hitlist now. And the price on Ben's head is double. He and Vega had a bit of a dust up over a woman... this woman." He showed Squirt a photo of a dark haired girl with gray eyes. "Don't even get me started on her.

"Point is," Moss continued, "Your sister is a fugitive from the law. And she associates with some very dangerous people. I stress again, you yourself are not in any trouble. But, if you have any information on the whereabouts of your sister and her friends... well, we'd like to hear it."

I just _____ in the _____.

(OOC: Haha, wow, super background post. Way to set the spark in the kindling there Jefe :P )

Squirt didn’t answer as to how she was doing. She moved and fidgeted in the clothes, feeling every tiny imperfection of the fabric weave brushing against her skin, as obvious to her as a the touch of a finger against a normal person.

The photo of Trisha made her pause. She picked it up, her expression of sadness and wonder clear as day.

Squirt had never actually seen Trisha in person. Existing in the computer world meant the GI had only been able to see people through means of cameras and scans, digital photos and holograms. Squirt had been able to see all of her friends now with normal, real-world eyes.

All except Trisha.

“I-it’s been a while,” Squirt said, tracing her fingers along the photo like a child would when seeing something for the first time. Feeling the subtle layering of the ink where the printer had mixed the colors of yellow, red, and blue. “She’s not quite my sister though.”

How was Squirt related to Trisha? Squirt had been crated when Trisha left a kind of ‘imprint’ on her ship, an old emergency escape pod. That, coupled with a new kind of supervirus, along with that magical little something that no one knew exactly, had created her. Not once had Squirt really thought of Trisha as a mother. Adam was closer to a parent than Trisha really.

Trisha was more of a…guardian. To make sure Squirt flew straight and true in life.

“We’re not blood-related, but yes, I took her last name.” She smirked when the guy mentioned all the criminal acts. There were more, but they didn’t count unless someone knew about them.

The way he spoke in present tense though. It hurt.

Ben…Nick. She noticed that he hadn’t even mentioned Enigma or Lorrilal. Not surprising. Enigma was the non-existent entity of an extinct race. Lorrilal was a strange child, flitting from one place to another. Nothing more.

Squirt looked at the other picture, an exchange of some sort. Being a ghost in a machine meant more than not being able to truly see people, it meant you also missed out on a lot. Squirt had missed out on a lot.

The GI sighed, putting her head in her hands, “You don’t have to worry about them anymore. A bunch of stuff happened about ten months ago. Since then, Nick has totally dropped off the face of the universe. No one can seem to find him, and let me say there have been quite a few motivated people searching. I’ll get the occasional message, but it’s strange, hastily made, excited. Nothing like the doctor I know.

“Ben. Ben comes and goes, he’s really mellowed out since adopting a daughter, her mother being part of the crew and dying of natural causes.” Or, perhaps even unnatural, God only knows with Enigma. I’m so sorry Lorrilal, “I would say that you could find him on the harshest of backwater planets, or his mother’s house, but that’s not true. You couldn’t find him. He seems to have a sixth sense and can be gone before you’re even in orbit.

“As for Trisha. She’s dead. You see that? On her hand?” She pointed to the photo, a small metal disk could be seen embedded in Trisha’s hand. Squirt then tapped her own metal disk between her collarbones. “One and the same. Trisha was caught up in those same events I mentioned ago and that’s what killed her. That’s what caused everyone to split up. Trisha bound us together, she made us a family, she reminded us of everything. Without her light we’re all just nobodies floating in the dark reaches of space, trying to find out our purpose, what and who we are now. Without her.” Squirt looked at her hands.

“I’m sure you’ve heard rumors of Trisha Winters being on one planet or another, but they’re not true. They’re just rumors. Ghosts and whispers. They’re not her. They’re simply not her. Trisha is dead.” Squirt got up suddenly, knocking over the chair she sat in as she screamed, “Trisha is fucking dead!

Then, Squirt did something she had never managed to do before with her strange, quazi-human body.

She cried, ice cold tears running down her cheeks.

James was caught up in the action almost as much as the soldiers were. Reg was totally out of control, and there was really nothing more they could do. Reg’s body was capable of learning on its own, filtering out any toxins or foreign substances that affected him. He knew they were in trouble when they ran out of tranqs, but thankfully someone managed to get more.

A tentacle almost hit him, and he shimmied away down the bench and into another officer. The officer didn’t care, however, as he too tried to get back away from the writhing tentacle. James was finally pulled aside by two soldiers and was more than happy to get out of the way. Reg was finally sedated enough that they could move him, and James watched as his friend was quickly carted down the hall and thrown into a cell just out of sight.

James turned to look at the nearest, highest ranking officer. “There are only two ways you’re going to get him to snap out of it. First and foremost, you need to bring as much raw meat, doesn’t matter what kind, as you can so he can eat. He got hurt pretty bad back in the woods by whoever jumped us, and his body is literally starving right now. That will at least get him cognizant again.”

James stopped as he heard loud banging from down the hall. The officers all looked a bit nervous, and James felt that way too. “I suggest you do that really quick before he gets out and decides to have a good feed on us. You also need to bring his sister, Katanura, here. She’s the only one he trusts unconditionally. Even if he’s only half with it, he’ll calm down with her around.”

He wiggled his shoulders around. He was getting a little stiff with his hands cuffed behind him. “Reg is a good guy, and this isn’t like him. He’ll cooperate once he’s aware again. I’ll answer any questions you have to the best of my ability as well. You guys actually did us a favor back there by giving us some cover, so I'll cooperate.”

As Squirt became more and more agitated, something strange started to happen. The lights began to flicker all throughout the police station. It was totally involuntary, and she might not even notice it was happening. At first, people thought it was just some kind of hiccup in the electrical system.

“Trisha is fucking dead!” she screamed, and at that moment all of the power in the building shut off.

It was dark for all of five seconds, but that was plenty of time to cause a minor panic. When the lights came back on, the appropriate people scrambled to figure out what was going on. The detective tried to the best of his ability to put the girl at ease, but he still had no idea what the hell was going on.

But there were others who did. the higher ups had been listening in on the conversation, standard procedure, really. There was nothing out of the ordinary in there, nothing to capture interest. Until that one slip of the tongue, that one mention of the Beflexor, and that was all it took for a flag to get out. All it took for Squirt to put herself in way more danger than she had intended.

...........................

With Reg secure, the officers could get on to other things. Captain Mason had just arrived with the captive's sister Kat, and this guy James was being escorted to an interrogation room, though they did heed his advice about getting some meat.

Mason brought Kat down to the cell where her brother was being held. "I apologize if we treated him a bit rough," he said. "Unfortunately the circumstances demanded it. You understand. I only hope he will listen to you."

(EDITOOC: FWABOOM! Made a major edit by adding another section below the first. Tell me if there's anything bugging you here, Jefe.)

Trying to give the meat to Reg/Bel might have been impossible if it was not for Katanura. He seemed to take a completely different reaction to her presence, especially when she had the meat. He didn't viciously lunge at her with claws and tentacles; he stood there for a moment, growling in a low tone, as if rather unsure of her. He sniffed the air, his skin all about his body rippling like water, and then he went right for the meat in her hand.

He gouged it all within but a few seconds, his body becoming satisfied with what Kat had to offer; and it had been plenty. The taste of meat blood and blood entered his brain, and if he had been normal, Reg might have revolted from this; instead, he reveled in it like he was a decadent dessert. Delicious and savoring the taste on the last bite with a slow chomp, he, his instincts - the beast that was all of his body - and Bel had been acting as one for that moment. It was probably the closest they would ever be to a single-minded entity and it was almost impossible for them to avoid without a daily intake of raw meat. The minds of Reg and Bel were both contained within a single brain, and the cells of this was only but a small chunk of the collective conscious that formed his animalistic mind; and then, it was easy to consider Reg and Bel the beast.

His blood lust satisfied, they felt their thoughts become clearer. Reg looked all about the place, confused, and asked Kat, completely ignoring the fact that he was nude, “Kat…where…am I?”

Dr. Adler, being like most scientists, unathelatic and a bit chubby, made his way back to his house, frustrated. Not only had he been unable to hitch a ride to the planet he needed to get to, but it turns out the attempt to capture the subject failed...again, in a sense. He was over all annoyed at the incompetence of who was running the hunting show; and all this time he had been salivating to analyze the subject's DNA. There were things he wanted to confirm, and over all, the subject had proven to have some very unique traits.

He was searching for his keys when he noticed that, upon closer inspection, the door wasn't fully close. No sooner had he noticed when he heard the tell tail sign of car doors opening, and his face went white as a ghost when he saw two people that looked to be government agents.

Somewhere not so far, another car whose driver had the intention in meeting Adler was going to shortly come into eye sight of the scene.

Katanura didn’t need Captain Mason to lead her to where Reg was. She could hear his furious and desperate screaming from outside the building. She quickened her pace and tried to put on a confident façade, but she was only half successful. She knew why she was brought here and couldn’t fault them for how they treated her brother, but that didn’t make it any less scary.

She waved Mason’s apology aside. It wasn’t necessary, although she appreciated it. “When he’s in this state there’s no reasoning with him. You did admirably considering how dangerous is he right now.”

She took a deep breath as she was handed the meat. Although she, Reg, and Bel had worked hard to get their body to recognizer her as NOT food, they had never tested themselves when they were this bad off, and for good reason. It was simply too dangerous, akin to letting yourself get bitten by a cobra when you weren’t sure you had worked up an immunity to venom yet. There was only one way to find out, and that was a trial by fire.

Reg was throwing himself against the door so hard that the soldiers had to use red-hot pokers to get him to back off. Once there was enough room, Kat squeezed through. She didn’t move far from the door, and was relieved beyond measure when Reg didn’t just eat her along with the meat.

Reg quickly returned to normal, and Kat wiped her bloody hands off on her pants. “Thank goodness that was enough meat. I was worried about you.”

She explained the situation to him, about how he and James had been ambushed in the woods according to the Feds, and how the Feds wanted to talk to Reg about what he was. James was in custody but cooperating, and she told Reg very sternly to cooperate. That particular message hadn’t been meant for Reg, but for Bel, and they both knew it. Not once did Kat mention Belugugan and she had no intention to unless the Feds brought him up themselves. It was just another complication to an already complicated problem.

“That’s what’s going on. Now that you’re better, I think they’re going to interview you. I think it would be wise of them to keep me with you though, don’t you think?”

She was sure the ears in the walls heard that one.

I just _____ in the _____.

A thrill of fright went through Squirt when the lights went off in the room. She gave a small gasp. Had someone come to rescue her? Cutting the power off as a diversion? Was it Ben?

Something brushed by her in the dark, feeling like the finest of silks.

Careful...

Squirt shivered, unsure if that had been her own thought or someone else's. The lights came back on and Squirt's hope of rescue by her former crewmates vanished. She was alone, despite what she'd suspected a moment ago.

That was her. It was all her. She still managed to look surprised, and it was genuine, as she thought she'd had better control these days. It wasn't often that lightbulbs exploded or blenders turned on at full speed anymore.

Squirt wiped her eyes, looking around to see if the water had come from somewhere and dripped onto her face. She'd seen humans cry, but not once had her strange body managed to replicate the event, and she'd had plenty of reasons to cry lately.

"Look," she said finally, "I've answered your questions, and there's nothing else I can say. So I'm going to head out that door now and leave, you'll never see me again."

She took a deep breath, ran her fingers though her hair, and headed for the door.

As soon as Spurious opened the door, she'd come face to face with a horrifying sight. For her, anyway.

On the other side of the room, speaking with a group of officers, were a pair of men in white lab coats. They didn't approach her, didn't even appear to look in her direction. But their mere presence was enough to evoke all the wrong ideas.

Making matters worse, all of the exits were covered, due to the heightened security that followed Reg, not to mention an entire building full of cops armed with energy blasters and fully automatics. Sure, Twilight was there to protect her, but could he take them all on? By himself? And that wasn't even taking into account the biggest danger of them all.

Section 6 was already there.

.............................

Captain Mason watched as Katanura tended to her brother. It was oddly moving, the reunion of brother and sister, even a brother as primal and dangerous as this one. However, his job was done now. The target had been apprehended and was secured. His primary objective now was to go home and have a shower and a cup of coffee, while the boys from Section 6 did their work.

.............................

The ears inside the walls did indeed hear what Kat had said. What's more, the walls had a voice as well, and used it to respond.

"That would indeed be a wise move," came the disembodied voice flowing from a speaker. "You are of course free to remain by your brother's side for now. However, there may come a time where we may have to separate the two of you, just temporarily."

The walls had eyes, as well. In fact, the camera in the cell was about the only thing they could interact with.

..................................

Tires squealed, gravel was kicked up, and the two agents flew out of the car, weapons drawn.

"Down on the ground, Adler!" Monahan shouted. "Hands where we can see 'em!"

OOC: A little late... But... Yeah >>

"So be honest with us, what were you two doing out in that forest? Really, its not everyday you find a pretty girl dressed in only a bed sheet in the middle of a forest." One of the G-Fed troopers that was now escorting Twilight through the building asked, clearly implying something of a nature which Twilight really had no understanding off. Though it was clear that the other three that was there knew what the young soldier had meant as they tried to not laugh with varying degrees of success. Twilight on the other hand just continued walking without saying anything at first, before he stopped and looked at the guy whom had spoken with him.

"I am unsure of your implications, but I never question my clients... Habits..." He responded with a rather flat tone in his voice, though he was not directly lieing about this, Spurious was not an actual client. However if his actions had been what made the Fed's take her in for questioning (albeit not a violent one as he had been once) he felt it was his role to take responsibility for it.

And it was with these thoughts that Twilight asked to be taken to a lobby-like room just outside of where 'Miss Winters' was being questioned by Detective Moss, though the actual door was just out of sight of where they told Twilight to sit his ass down and wait. Which he did diligently. However despite looking like he was resting, probably due to being completely still, the Ing's senses was working in high gears as he attempted to sort out a strange feeling that was comming from below him, and of the various electrical instruments scattered around the building, while still allowing him to 'sense' what was going on behind door number 1. Unfortunately though, his senses just wasn't sharp enough to either hear or otherwise sense anything.

An angered yell from the room he was watching, suddenly the lights turned off and Twilight's senses picked it up in a strange pattern that made no sense to him at all. In a flash the humanoid Ing was up on his feet and walking with long strides toward the door, but just then the lights came back on. "What happened? Did anything happen in there?" He asked one of the police by the door, whom looked about ready to shoot his own shadow, possibly due to the sudden blackout, possibly due to Twilights form suddenly appearing before him. However Twilight did not wait for an answer, as he heard voices from within the room, suggesting that nothing had truly happened in there. This made Twilight calm down slightly as he walked off once more but this time leaned against the wall near the door while he crossed his arms, deciding to wait closer to the room itself incase anything SHOULD happen.

It was not long after this occured that a pair of what appeared to be scientists came into the room, stopping to chat with each others about something or other which did not directly interest Twilight. Though he coulden't help but feel they were occasionally eyeing him, course that could just be due to him not being your average alien wearing parts of a Federation armor. And just a little while later the door to the room opened, with Spurious in the doorway. 'I wonder why they wanted her there... But I guess it would be considered rude to ask such a thing, especially given how I am atleast partially responsible for putting her there.' He thought as he pushed off from the wall and let his arms drop to his sides.

“W-what is this?” Squirt said, her hand coming up to point at the men in lab coats. They weren’t looking at her, but they didn’t have to. Their avoidance of looking at her, in fact, made them seem more suspicious. They were avoiding looking at her because they were clearly here for her and didn’t want her to know. That was it, Squirt was sure. “What is this!” she cried more angrily this time, “Do you honestly think I’m that stupid?”

Squirt strode out of the room where she was being questioned. “I’ve been nothing but polite, doing what you say. To hell with that!” The lights in the area, flickering before, now began to brighten and hum ominously, computer screens began scrolling a series of ones and zeroes. “The Federation has done nothing but spit on me and mine since the beginning. No matter what we’ve tried to do.” The light bulb above Squirt popped, raining hot fragments of glass down on the GI.

“I’ve had it. Trisha did nothing but run, and look where it got her? You hounded her endlessly. You want to know what really happened to her? The details? You bastards killed her!” More lights exploded. “The crew of the cargo ship Grace had all settled down on a peaceful little happy planet. Boring really. That was okay though, because Trisha was happy. At least, until a bunch of you found her and you shot her down like a filthy fugitive, which was all you ever saw her as. Something else happened too, by destroying Trisha, you created something else, something far worse than anything she would have been capable of.”

An officer approached her carefully, Squirt turned on him immediately, her hand passing into his body. He gave a startled cry as Squirt pulled something free, then the officer slackened, falling to the floor, conscious, but not truly alive.

What Squirt held in her hand was a small, shining thing, more like a light than a physical object. “You see this?” she said to everyone in the room. “This is what makes you tick, and I’m going to take it away from all of you, just like you did to her. I want the Federation to know that killing Trisha was a mistake, and you’re all going to be the messengers.”
