Squirt pursed her lips, making a small “hm” noise in Twilight’s direction. No doubt it wasn’t his real name, but a symbolic one. Most humans probably couldn’t pronounce his real one, so they ended up slapping on the most descriptive noun, that was the most likely case.

Either way, he was a quiet fellow.

The GI stepped aboard the ship, the air around it giving off a kind of vibration in her chest. She absentmindedly traced her finger around the circumference of the Beflexor, the device resting just below where her collarbones came together. Squirt wondered if Trisha had felt similar things when she was in possession of the device, or if it attuned itself depending upon each unique person. She had never thought to ask, most of the time she could have spent talking to Trisha, she was instead nose deep in a copy of manga or something.

Squirt jumped at the sound of someone’s voice over the comm., she snarled when they opened the fire.

“What the hell is he talking about, get what?” The GI closed her eyes, feeling a bit nauseated. At first, she attributed it to Twilight, his stench was far overpowering in his ship, but soon realized it was in a more directly related manner. Less the senses of her body as she herself.

Energy was being thrown around.

Energy, electricity, was a funny thing, especially to computers, they required it to run, to live, but sometimes something as simple as a static shock could fry even the most powerful of CPUs.

Squirt considered popping into the virtual world, safe inside where she’d grown and lived, her home, but that would mean leaving the Beflexor behind where anyone could get at it and, as much as Twilight seemed like a pretty okay guy, she couldn’t trust him with such an intimate thing of her life.

It was funny really, she hated being in this world, yet she protected her ability to appear in it.

“Twilight” she said, turning to him and hoping he was as level-headed as he looked “can do you a scan on this guy? Or flee or something? I don’t know if we should fight back, if he wanted us dead, he’d have done so by the first shot. He sounds batshit crazy so I don’t think we should piss him off.”

There was…something she could do though, but she dismissed the thought. It would be a last resort, not to mention she had no idea who or, more importantly, what, was on that other ship.”

Well appart from picking up a complete stranger on the way his trip to the forest and back to his ship had been a lot safer than the locals had warned him about. Then again animals had senses that humans or most other aliens did not, and thus perhaps could sense something about him that made them avoid him, not that it was so strange after all, the animals on Aether had done their best to avoid darklings whenever they were present, or dark portals for that matter.

Once inside the moderately sized ship, that with a quick glance would tell you it was a personal transport class ship, he walked off to the opposite side of the hatch and looked inside a small storage room of sorts, probably intended for clothing and other such things. He then produced a large white rag, though clean, and handed it to Squirt. "Here." Was all he said, afterwards walking up to the front of the cockpit and sitting down in the slightly too large seat.

It was just at this time that his comm crackled to life as a unknown voice made its precense, just in time for his ship radar to pick up another ship decloaking just infront of his. He was about to respond to the irritating man, but was interupted by a large laserbeam slicing the ground infront of his ship, causing it to tremble slightly. 'Thats a prety powerfull weapon... But my shield should be able to hold against it.' He thought as he glanced back at Squirt when she commented on what the man had said, she was awfully calm for this kind of situation.

He did not waste any time sitting around, instead he activated all the systems in the ship and made it ready to launch, however from the outside it barely looked like anything, which was one of the advantages his ship had, it never really showed what he was about to do before he did it.

“Twilight” Squirt said, making him turn his head to look at her from the corner of his helmet. “can do you a scan on this guy? Or flee or something? I don’t know if we should fight back, if he wanted us dead, he’d have done so by the first shot. He sounds batshit crazy so I don’t think we should piss him off.”

"...Yes I agree. My ship has a powerful shield but lacks firepower, it would be better to avoid fighting." He said as he put a hand on a switch to his left on the control console. "Miss Winters, you should lay low or hold on to something, this will get rough." Twilight then said, a second later flipping the switch, activating the thrusters at full speed.

The ship had been nearly completely still for thirty seconds after the crazy guy had shot at them, but now it suddenly flew up at a very high speed, which only became faster and faster, before suddenly it stopped its ascent and the engines in the back activated, sending the ship flying high speed off to the distance.

However Twilight expected the man to follow, and thus was ready for any evasive actions required. He was hoping he could shake the guy, however even if his ship could easily accelerate and change directions it was not the fastest of its class.

(OOC: Short but sweet. Let's try to get TT and Squirt with either Reg and Bel, or James.)

There was more incessant cackling through the intercom as the ship gave chase. "Run...run...run, RUNRUNRUNRUN! HAHAHA!"

It was noticeable that the opposing ship didn't have acceleration nearly as fast enough as Twilight's, but it definitely had the higher speed. Also, while not many would recognize its model since it was purchased from space sector far, far away from Gfed space, those that did would recognize it as a modified USP Fang model. It was a commonly bought, quite cheap-to-purchase single fighter from a company called Microsol, and while it's armor wasn't the best in its class, it did hold a rather unique defense system. This being the Invulnerability field, which caused the ship to slightly phase out of its dimension; the trick was difficult to activate due to the complexity of the wired system, and would also completely drained huge amounts of energy, including from the shield, which would drop completely.

After sending a few blasts at Twilight, the ship zoomed right at him, and went through him like a ghost. The ship had essentially momentarily faded out like one too, and it was suddenly ahead of Twilight. It's shield were having difficulty recharging, but that didn't seem to concern the pilot as it rephased. In fact...

"Y'know," the voice came with a crackle, "I can't help but say this, but you two seem...very special, hahaha! Oh yes, I have a tenacity for trying to find special people - and I was drawn to you to like a man attracted by a sweet scent - or perhaps more like it was...karma."

Without saying anything, the ship launched a huge volley of guided micro bombs, small gray spheres that flew through the air on their own will, trailing smoke behind them like the tail of a tadpole. They all targeted Twilight's ship, and the man was content as many volleys as he wanted to.

"...It means 'Iron Overseer.'"

Monahan raised an eyebrow at Hirsch's explanation of Adler's friend's codename, Eisen-Aufseher. The technician had been going through the doctor's computer for the last few hours, since the Agents had returned to the local GFed that morning after their house call. What he and his team found inside that hard drive was about to take the case to a whole new level... which was frightening because they still weren't sure exactly what it was they were dealing with.

"Whoever this guy is," Monahan said, "clearly he thinks very highly of himself."

"Adler's codename doesn't seem to fit the scheme though." Hirsch brought up one of the files, which were no longer encrypted thanks to the Agency's skilled hackers, then brought up something on his own computer. "Take a look at this," he said, pointing to his monitor. "This is from Agent Smith on Trassurz."

Monahan watched the recorded conversation, trying to absorb both it and the scan information that was flashing on the screen. "Subject's molecular structure appears to be highly unstable," she read aloud. "Strong potential for voluntary transmutation... does that mean like shapeshifting?"

"That's exactly what that means," Hirsch replied. "Now check this out." He started the file on Adler's computer, and several images of a strange, grotesque creature appeared on the screen, accompanied with all manner of biological data.

"What the hell is that?"

"That, Agent Monahan, is Reg Isusango. That's him after he undergoes his transformation.

"Now, if you're wanting a more specific explanation, I'm afraid I can't help you there. I've never seen anything like this creature in my life. Normally, when scientists start splicing people's genes like this, they do so with some kind of existing sequence. Reptilian, insectiod, whatever. But this... this is completely new to me. Now granted, I'm no geneticist or anything, but it almost looks like they just created a new species from scratch."

"But for what purpose?" Monahan asked. "Why even do this to the poor kid?"

"I believe that's what you're here to find out," Hirsch replied.

So many unanswered questions, she thought. They didn't even know who Adler was working for, and yet here was their handiwork in all it's fearsome glory. Nor did they understand why such a creature was engineered, or why they used a seemingly innocent young man as their guinea pig instead of just building it from scratch.

At that moment, the door opened and a young, fresh-faced officer poked his head in.

"'Scuse me, Hirsch, don't mean to bother you," he said. "Are you Monahan?"

The Agent nodded.

"We've um... we've got Director Quinn on the line for you."

"Alright, I'll be right there." The kid seemed a bit nervous. She guessed he didn't have a whole lot of experience dealing with Section 6 personnel, no doubt exacerbated by the fact that the head of their division had an intimidating effect on people.

But she also wondered why Quinn would be calling her. Whatever the reason, it definitely meant that this was no longer your typical investigation, even by Section 6 standards. She wouldn't have to wonder for long though, as she was about to be informed of the latest developments.

The police dropship touched down outside the house, causing the walls to shake violently and the dishes to rattle in the cupboard. In fact, were it not for the distinctive whine of the engines, Kat might have thought she was in the middle of an earthquake.

About a dozen GFed police troopers filed out of the dropship, clad in the black fatigues and body armor of the Mobile Elite Task Force. They quickly surrounded the perimeter, scanning both the house and the area for any hostiles. There appeared to be only one human inside, no sign of the target.

The leader, a thin man in his early 40's with a weathered face and a healthy amount of gray invading his sandy hair (not to mention the only one of the troopers not wearing his helmet), strode up to the house and pounded on the door. "Police, open up!" he shouted in his gruff English accent.

"Are you Katanura?" he asked as the young lady answered the door. "Captain Mason, Galactic Federation Police. This house is officially on lockdown. Now where is your brother?"

Miss Winters…

The title caught Squirt off guard. She hadn’t even heard Twilight’s warning for her to hold onto something. She flew backward, her shoulder hitting the corner of a wall, she slipped downward to the floor, being tossed further, ramming into something.

Pressure was an interesting sensation when used at a high force in concentrated areas Squirt realized.

She grabbed the rag and wrapped it around herself again, having lost it during the spill. The speed became much easier to deal with and she stood up, when she did however, one of her legs gave out and she crumpled back to the floor. Squirt looked down and her eyes widened.

One of her feet were facing the wrong way.

The GI immediately panicked, unsure what to do, scream? Cry? Request medical attention? It wasn’t painful, as she’d long known that this strange body didn’t have nerves. Squirt wasn’t a stranger to pain though, just a different kind, like a virus or a corruption of files, that was her pain.

Squirt carefully grabbed onto the foot, turning it back to its rightful direction, she could hear something akin to rocks being ground together. All she’d seen of her body was the fleshy substance though, a cut had never gone quite deep enough to reach the center of a limb. Was there more to her body that just the one soft, quasi-organic material?

Strange.

Her foot was finally in the right place and she stood up again, watching as her weight caused her ankle to bend disturbingly to the side. No matter, it would heal, just as her cuts eventually sealed up on their own. She checked several of them now, the bear claw marks now no deeper than a small scrape.

As she was checking them, she heard the voice on the intercom talk of how she and Twilight were special and she winced.

“What the hell does he want from us?” She growled. “Any more of this and it’s murder, I swear. I’m going to tear him a new one. Rip his soulspark right out of his ass.”

Every light in Twilight’s ship, down to the ones on the ship’s controls, flickered for just a moment.

Squirt breathed a sigh of annoyance, she’d have to calm down. Too angry and this bird would drop to the ground like it was ground zero of an EMP blast.

Hearing a rumble from behind him Twilight whinced, maybe he should have waited a little longer before he had activated the engines... But in this situation he had no time to check on Squirts condition, nor time to slow down or take it easy, what with a madman chasing them in a ship with a prety strong laser...

Though as he was trying to outmaneuver the persuer, his ships radar suddenly picked the ship up to be comming dangerously close to his own, was the man going to crash into the back end of his ship? What a fool... Or so he thought, as the enemy ship suddenly passed straight through his own and became solid infront of him.

Twilight had never seen such a device in a ship before, and it rightfully surprised him, he had honestly thought such a thing was only possible by the trans-dimensional Hunter Ing who were more or less just a mass of dark energy... Though when the voice of the assailant came in over the radio he snapped out of his trance, but not quickly enough to avoid the micro-bombs.

Trying as best he could to atleast avoid as many as possible Twilight was not paying much attention to Squirt as she commented on the mans reason for comming after them, a moment later the ship shock violently from multiple small explosions against the shield, then afterwards Twilight lowered the ship quickly, not nearly at the speed it had risen but still enough to hopefully catch the other man off-guard as he pushed a few buttons, sending the ship in a amazingly quick U-turn before zooming off in the opposite direction.

His shields had gone down an amazing amount for such small bombs... There must have been something else to affect it, perhaps they contained something to break shields, or it might have been the rapid succession they had hit the ship in... Either case they were in a bad spot, another heavy hit and they might go down...

(OOC: Extremely short, but this is to get things moving along)

That's it, the crazed pilot thought rather smartly, fly where I want you to. Annnnd right there!

He fired another volley of micro bombs, and then laid down one last laser to kill out Twilight's engines. The effect did what he wanted to do, as the ship crashed near where Bel was captured. As Twilight's ship went down, crazed mad man spoke, "Hahahaha, that was a fun chase. Let's do it another another day, hehehe."

As the ship cloaked and went out of sight, several soldiers began targeting the vessel and it's hatch, awaiting for someone to come out. They obviously expected hostile 'reinforcements.'

Roffel House!

Katanura couldn't have been caught more off guard. She had been in the shower when her house started shaking. She heard the roar of ship engines through the walls and felt the rumbling through the soles of her feet. She hopped out and got dressed, still dripping, in record time.

It was just too coincidental. Two agents visiting to ask her about Reg, and now this? Something bad was happening, and once again Kat found herself in the center of attention even moreso than Reg.

That was why, when she opened the door, that she wasn't as surprised as Captain Mason was probably expecting her to be.

"No, he left hours ago to go hunting," she said, pointing her finger over her shoulder to point at the national forest behind the house. She anxiously looked out through her half-open front door at all the soldiers surrounding the house.

"Um... did... something happen? What's going on?"

(OOC: Sorry for being gone for so long! I was doing finals and then Audubon work and now I'm leaving for home at 3AM. It's a quickie, but at least things are moving again. Jefe, tag to you, bud!)

'Damn it, damn it DAMN IT!' Twilight thought with rising irritation, even after his quick maneuver it had only taken a second for the other ship to catch on and just a little while longer for it to catch up. 'I need to improve the engines, the shields wont do much against that kind of ship.' He thought as he viewed the radar and other screens displaying his status and that of the ship closing in from behind.

Then the ship suddenly zoomed right above them as it let out another volley of bombs which hit the ships shield at a single point just above the engines, once again draining them a ridiculous amount, what the hell were they made off!? But thats when he noticed how the attack had left the back end of the shield far more vulnerable than the rest of it, and though it was quickly filling up it was too late.

With a bang the enemy ships laser struck through the shield and hit one of the engines, causing Twilights ship to spiral out of control. He could still keep it upright and probably keep on flying, but now the ship had been slowed even further and there was no way for him to outrun the bastard, so instead he did the best he could and tried to fake the crash. "Miss Winters, brace yourself, this will get rough." He said as the ship began a steep descent towards the ground, with Twilight steering it so it just barely angled upward before striking the ground, so it instead pulled a giant mark as it slid across the ground, bumping over rocks and crashing through several trees with great force before comming to rest under a large tree which covered them from above.

["Hahahaha, that was a fun chase. Let's do it another another day, hehehe."]

"Hsss..." Twilight let out a long irritated hiss, he really felt like ripping the speaker out right then, but he knew it would do him no good, so he let it be and instead stood up. He couldent help but clench his claw-tipped hands in his frustration however and in the process made four marks on both sides of the seat, but he was too annoyed to really care then. And to top it off he began to hear noise outside the ship, seemed like human voices, and from the readings his ship gave they were surrounding the ship. Great...

This day had started out fine, calm and relaxing, and now he was knee-deep in shit. With an annoyed snarl he walked up to the hatch and pressed a few buttons on the side before he turned to Squirt. "Theres what I assume to be armed men outside, you should stay inside until I've dealt with them... One way or another, lets just hope this is all just a missunderstanding, I'd hate to kill people for no reason." He said, though with how angry he sounded he'd probably not mind taking his irritation out on them.

With a 'swoosh' sound the hatches slid to the side, revealing to Twilight that there was indeed armed soldiers outside the ship, their weapons trained at him. Though they were not federation, as he could tell by their odd uniform, he'd never seen whatever they wore, but it did not seem to provide a lot of protection, which suggested it was either because they could not afford it... Or they needed to stay out of sight and heavier armors most likely stood out. With a sound that resembled a sigh he grabbed the edge of the outer hatch opening and stepped through it, staring at the soldiers through his visor.

"Who are you, and what do you want?" He said, intentionally making his voice sound darker and more intimidating, if he could intimidate them enough not to fight it would both save time and he'd be following his 'morals', he had no reason to fight people he had no idea who they were, after all...

OOC: Ugh, felt teh crappeh during this, atleast its good enough to keep it going xD

Squirt wasn’t one to be put off guard twice, but she still winced at the title of ‘Miss Winters’. The GI braced herself for the impact, being jarred left and right, eventually, the ship ground to a halt, the inertia causing her to stumble forward slightly.

Now she was pissed.

Squirt let out an inhuman sound, like that of television static and a modem gone rogue.

“No” she snarled to her flight companion. “Screw the damsel in distress façade. I’m angry now. If someone doesn’t explain things soon then I’m going to get viral on their asses.”

She then paused, snorting and silently enjoying her unintentional pun, before popping out from around the corner and screaming at the soldiers. Hardly any of it was recognizable though, most of it computer code made audible, and several archaic languages that weren’t used by the majority of the galaxy anymore.

Still, a man learned in code or language would at least be able to discern some terms and threats that women, from the highest of planetary royalties to the most hardened of female bounty hunters, wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole. She spouted any number of things, gripping the sheet wrapped around her tightly.

It may not have been as relieving as spark-pulling, but it was close.
