Jenosa's face went from disturbed to perplexed to mildly intrigued in the entire span of Grace's little quip. "Well, I won't disagree that Travis's a hotty, even when he's fully clothed," she added, actually humored the woman's demeanor. Good grief, if it hadn't been for the whole fiasco on G79, she might of actually warmed up to this woman quickly. Maybe. As they turned back to the warehouse, Jenosa stuffed her hands in her pockets, feeling a certain reluctance come over her. She was not at all enthusiastic about the coming confrontation, largely, in part, of what had transpired previously. The intense, one-way empathy bond she had shared with her clone had been...disconcerting to say the least. It was not one she wanted to go through again, although given how she currently had yet to feel anything more than her own two, in this proximity, was a relief. Still, given how weird this virus could make things, anything strange was bound to happen between them - god, sometimes she just hated how her life turned out. It didn't help that she now had a super soldier facsimile of herself walking around in her life; but there was no ignoring that fact, no matter how desperately she wanted to right now. Avoiding the matter at hand had the potential to blow up in her face later on; and even if it really didn't, it would not heal the wounds that had been seared into her by the brief bond. Truth was, she needed to see this through, no matter how awkward this could get. ------------------------- Tamaki could hardly imagine what Moria was going through right now, given so many things happening at once - it was probably good that she had retreated to the kitchen with Chel for some solitude. After all, they hadn't exactly given her the room to even remotely develop any social skills beyond her military training. In so many ways, she didn't feel worthy of being her guardian, given how she was partially responsible for thrusting this woman into the world like this. And it was only the sudden beeping from the warehouses computer console that had broken her train of thought. She spoke "I'll check that," and promptly got up and walked over to the console. To see a message on it titled "Paging Doctor Tamaki." She made a bemused blink. It was an instant message window. Directly asking for her of all people here. She didn't know whether to be worried or afraid, but deduced this was friendly...she hoped. Without telling the others, she typed a response: "This is Tamaki. Who is this?" "A friendly ally. An associate of those who designed the safe house your in - meant for people like you. Apologies if I must remain anonymous beyond that fact." Tamaki frowned, and quickly typed, "Ok...let's assume your friendly...why did you ask for me through IM." "Work habit, and I'm in need of a doctor of your particular expertise." Tamaki's brow furrowed, "Um...I already have patient on my hands.' The reply was almost immediate, "I'm well aware, but whether you choose to or not is irrelevent; the 'patient' already here. Check camera 3." Tamaki was about to write, "Are you serious?" when she glanced at camera 3's screen. She stared for a whole 10 seconds - even though ragged clothes covered most of, well, its body, she could see enough that it wasn't human. And the red, glowing eyes in his mostly shadowed face were rather disconcerting. She typed back frantically, "Who what is that?" "It's a he," the anonymous person wrote, "and his state is deteriorating. Badly. I'll leave it to him to divulge his nature, but please, don't jump to conclusions if you learn about his nature." Tamaki paused in long moment, deeply considering of telling the others about this, but part of stopped. Everyone seemed farely busy, and she honestly didn't want to thrust anymore chaos into Moria's life as is. As was, she decided to play this cautious, albeit nervously as well. With that in mind, she asked one of Chel's clones to come with her (Whoever was armed), as she at least trusted her, and Raven, to a degree. And, just barely exiting the warehouse, bumped into Jenosa. "Ah, Ms. Arma," she greeted in surprise. "Doc," Jenosa said, "is my...other 'self' done playing chicken?" Tamaki shrugged, "Not last I've seen." The woman paused for a moment before saying in a low voice, "Umm, Ms Arma, I don't want to alarm anyone, but, well, I've been told there's a weird patient waiting outside for me." The red head raised a confused eyebrow, "Huh?" Tamaki motioned to hooded figure approach the warehouse. Jenosa glanced in that direction, her eyes widening in recognition. Turning back to Tamaki, there was a nervous but otherwise pleasant smile on her face as she clasped the short woman's shoulders. "Doc, have fun," she said, "Seriously. He's a friendly guy. Just...please keep him out of my hair for a while." And without even giving Tamaki a chance to respond, Jenosa swiftly went into the warehouse and slammed the door shut. Tamaki looked at Chel for a moment before look at the hooded figure before nervously saying with a wave, "Hi." (OOC: Jenosa's reaction to Grace's part will come later. Apologies for the long post). -------------------- Jenosa let out an exasperated sigh as she closed the warehouse door behind. Good grief, she did not want to deal with Twilight - he was nice and all from a personal perspective, but there was already too much weird stuff going on for her. She did not to have to confront and deal with whatever problems he was having. No, she thought, she just wanted to deal with her - 'relative'. That was it. Then she wanted to kick back and relax. For real this time. No more wondering about without any proper resolution or loose ends - she wanted to finally be at peace, but in a living way. No more high strung situations or weirdness for a month, she thought. That's what she wanted anyway. And sadly, to her chagrin, Grace made it quite apparent that wasn't going to happening any time. "Son of a bitch!" she swore quite loudly in response to hearing Section 6. She had come to know about them thanks to Delacroix business, and she had honestly hoped to be done with them. And of course she wasn't. She should have know after what had happened they'd be far from done. God. Fucking. Dammit. "I seriously hope you're right about this," she said with gritted teeth, "otherwise you'll have officially ruined my day. Actually, scratch that," she added, "you already have. Twice over." Alissa sat watching the captured operative quietly; she wasn’t sure what to do with him. She could kill him, but no she really couldn’t. Leave him conked out somewhere he could call for extraction when he comes too? No that could be too dangerous, and depending on his orders he could end up being a danger to innocent people as he attempts to require his target…her. She sighed quietly leaning forward placing her elbows on her knees and staring at the concrete floor, eyes passing over the patterns there but not really seeing anything. This was all a nightmare…her nightmare, since leaving she’d been exceedingly careful, she had been a ghost, she knew that there was no trail they could have followed before vertigo. She had made a mistake, made friends, gotten tangled up in something that was highly visible to the wrong sorts of people, and now here was an Achillies operative sitting tied to a chair, and she could not bring herself to do the thing that all of her training told her she should do. He is a threat, she eliminates threats, no mercy, no remorse, no hesitation, except now she has all three, and a host of other human emotions that her creators had worked tirelessly to suppress within her, they were all there, they had never gone anywhere. Part of her felt like it was a liability, like she needed to somehow tap into what she used to be, cute ties, and hide. But she also knew she really couldn’t do that any longer. She looked over to where Jenosa and grace emerged a warning of section 6 drifted over the air and Alissa snorted in derision….actually laughed a little, section 6 was never regarded too highly by Coalition intelligence, and even less highly by Olympus control. She looked back toward the operative a moment “well that makes you seem less impressive…..” although what does that say about her…she had been so careful, but it wasn’t just her. “blackbird….begin a search for a new safe location” There was a pause “I already have a suggestion operative….and…its Thea” Alissa blinked a moment at what had come in over her comm connection “Thea?” There was silence a moment “its….it’s the name I chose for myself…you should come in so we can talk.” Alissa hadn’t been on her ship yet, there had been too much going on, and she didn’t realize that something that drastic had changed. She stood up a moment looking over towards where Jenosa stood before turning and heading for the door. She walked quickly out of the warehouse and toward her waiting ship, parked right next to the operative’s ship so similar to her own. The door hissed closed as she stepped in, Thea flickered into view before her. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ “Thea?...” Alissa asked, the facsimile of a girl nodded “you actualized…” Thea nodded again as Alissa sat down slowly looking toward the girl quietly a moment…there were so many questions, and emotions, but the thing that surprised her the most, was that none of them were bad. “Why….Thea?” Thea looked confused a moment before a smile spread with understanding “Gaia…is who made it possible for me to be…she helped us escape” “you look like her…” the her in question didn’t need to be voiced Thea looked down a moment “I look like you did…mostly I think. This avatar is an amalgam of a many different people, you…Ms. Arma…others I’m sure.” Thea looked thoughtful a moment “I…I know you have questions…but that Grace woman was correct, we must get away from this place” Alissa looked up quietly as Thea continued “I have been activally disrupting the efforts of section 6 and several other intelligence agencies for some time now, we need to get moving….I know where” Alissa blinked “shortly after you left with the vertigo subject I received a data stream from Gaia…it included a patch for me, along with a message for you…”Find the albanoid faction, they need you as much as you need them” that was it, there were some instructions on how to do that, but no indication as to why you should find them. My own research has suggested that they are suited to dealing with some of these….people” Alissa was quiet a moment “Do you….trust this message” Thea nodded quietly Alissa nodded and sighed after a moment “Alright…do what you need to do…let’s figure out what to do with….my nephew” -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ It was not too much later when Alissa entered the warehouse again speaking loudly enough for her voice to carry. “We have two ships and I’ve located a safe place for us, we need to get the supplies we need loaded into the ships and have the planet behind us as soon as we can” she said pointing to the still unconscious operative “he goes into Stasis on the Blackbird. She made her way over toward where Jenosa stood talking with Moria, waiting for a lull in the conversation. “Thea…” she paused a moment, there was a hint of a smile still at the development of the AI “has set you as the operative for the other ship, you’ll have complete control. The AI will follow your commands, it isn’t as…developed as Thea, but that takes time” she said at last. “Thea has a destination for us, she is already sending a message to our hosts…they are the same ones who provided this safe house” she said quietly glancing between the two a moment “we should get moving soon….” |

"Really?" Grace stared at Alissa with an incredulous look on her face. "I just told you the goddamn Men in Black are after you, and not only do you brush it off like they're not even worth your time, but you go right off and actually start broadcasting messages? Do you seriously just not get it?" She was about ready to start tearing her hair out. These people, they were all the same. Couldn't even imagine the idea that they could make a mistake. But when you had as much success as some of these bounty hunters did, you probably would never even think that your greatest strength could wind up being your ultimate downfall. "Look, I don't care how good you think your encryption is, as long as there's a signal, someone's gonna find it. How do you think I was able to track you down? Cause I've got the best resources? Cause I'm some kind of genius? Hell no. I'm a broken down, recovering addict of a crook who just got out of prison, and probably washed up to boot. But I know a lot of D&D-playing nerds with tricked out computers and a ton of time on their hands, cause they sure as hell don't got girlfriends." Grace looked Alissa right in the eye, not quite getting right up in her face, but the intent was clear. It was a direct challenge, not just to her plan, but to everything she was, her very identity. She didn't imagine this girl would take it well, but Grace didn't really care. There were more important things at stake here. "You wanna stay hidden, take it from a lifelong criminal: stay off the grid. Disconnect completely. Lay low for a little while. Otherwise, you might as well hang a great big sign out front." She turned to address the rest of the group, feeling Jenosa's white hot gaze and Alissa's disapproving glare upon her. "I know I'm not the most popular person in the room right now, but you guys have to trust me. Every network, every channel is monitored. They got eyes and ears all over the place. And don't think for a second that they aren't looking out for those ships of yours." She sighed, not knowing how inclined anyone here was to listen to her. "Just... just trust me, okay? Please. This is what I do." |

Jenosa was a little surprised at how Alissa just laughed off Section 6 like they were complete amateurs. It was just...a bit out of character of her, really. She had never seen Alissa take that kind of attitude towards such dire information before, certainly not during their hunt for Project Vertigo. Now she wondered just what had happened during that two weeks Alissa had spent with her...'sister.' Not that it was an entirely bad thing, she considered. In fact, she partially considered it progress given how normally quiet and reserved the woman was. Still, that kind of reaction was a little disconcerting for Jenosa, but only because she knew her friend had a deeply troubled past that she only partially privy too. Hence she felt it only proper to give Alissa some space given that she was now making more direct chatter with the new and improved Thea. But it wasn't anything she was massively concerned with as much as the approach of Section 6 and- “We're leaving!?” came an alarmed, familiar voice. Jenosa's head swerved towards her...'relative', seeing the disturbingly different mirror image of herself standing at the kitchen's threshold. Everything about her hair color and bangs – well, most of it – as well as her features were exactly like hers, but her demeanor completely different. She definitely had those hardened, no-nonsense lines of the female soldier she had come across before; but this face honestly made her think this was really who she might have become had she truly pledged her life to the military service. And to that of her sing-swing of bounty hunting career. The affect was truly uncanny for Jenosa. Especially now that she was presented the opportunity for a proper meet-and-greet. Well, at least that she didn't feel that stupid empathy bond this time around, she thought with internal relief while making an external sigh that said “Let's get this over with.” Stuffing her hands into her pockets and taking an almost cocky stance, she confirmed, “Yup. We've got no interest in tangling with Section 6. Certainly not like this.” Her...'sister' just stood there, her hands opening and close with indecision – all the while attempting to stare down Jenosa her, but completely failing in the process. Her eyes just kept shying away from Jenosa's in general. It was actually rather surprising for Jenosa to see, let alone even behold – she, she was actually making this woman nervous. Oh, this was rich, she thought, and, the awkwardness for her melting away, did not let the opportunity pass her at all. Making a subtle yet mischievous grin, she stepped closer to her 'sister', shifting her hips in a cocky sway as she stopped before her; with the stance she had taken clearly leaving her 'sister' unsettled. “So,” Jenosa continued in a more greeting manner, “Armoria, right?” This time, woman managed to get her composure together – mostly - and replied, “Moria, actually. I prefer Moria.” Jenosa grin widened. “Really now?” she said, pleasantly surprised, “well, that's a relief. For a second I thought I'd have to call you Armoria Arma. God that would be redundant.” Moria made a confused blink, “Armoria...Arma?” “Yeah,” Jenosa said, her grin no less wicked than it was before, “you know who I am right?” Moria furrowed her brow, “Yes. My...progenitor,” she added with a slow recall, “Jenosa ...Arma.” Jenosa's grin remained silent as she let those last two words get processed, with Moria's face obviously showing that she saw the connection, but didn't understand the meaning “Arma is my family name,” Jenosa finally clarified, “my father's surname, really. I guess they never really taught you that in super girl boot camp, because a last name usually says we're related. By blood.” Jenosa could see the woman was still trying to make sense of what Jenosa had actually said, and that concepts such as 'family' were way out of vocabulary. Leave it to Section 6 not care anything at all the kind of screwed up blood relations they create, she sighed internally. While she waited, Alissa had come back and mentioned what Thea had done for her. At this, Jenosa raised a curious eye brow. “Really?” she said, surprised, “guess she's giving me a thank you gift for keeping her company all this time. Tell her I said thanks in return and...that I'll treat the new guy well when the time comes about. And...to be fair,” she added, “I quite liked flying that kind of ship.” She then witnessed Grace directly challenge what Alissa had in mind, going so much as to get right in the woman's face. And while she had a valid point, Jenosa was not taking to the long term solution. When the two were done discussing their own point, Jenosa sternly piped in. “I partially disagree. While I agree that we shouldn't underestimate these guys – and I'm certainly not interested in tangling with them right now – I honestly don't think playing hide-and-seek with them is a good long-term solution. I can tell you from personal experience these guys are patient, and they can and will jump us they see the opportunity arise. When through some stray chance, when we think they've all but forgotten us, we remind them we're still here.” “Personally,” she continued, crossing her arms, “I've gotten sick and tired of it. If anything, the hosts that Thea has spoken of may be the allies we need for this. And I'm ready to take the risk to see if they're actually friendly.” |

Alissa stood stoic and silent as Grace unloaded her own frustration standing silent as se and then Jenosa offered their own incite on what needed to happen. She watched Grace address the gathered people with the same quiet reserve se presented to the world. In the face of Grace’s frustration Alissa was relocating that core of herself, that calm collected, and cool mask that allowed her to handle the world. “two points…” she said quietly “you are correct about signals, which is why I have not sent one” she said quietly “I could get into Coalition covert communication protocols but for now….don’t worry, I’m not new” she said her eyes holding to Grace quietly “I was conferring with my ship.” “Secondly…you are correct, ideally we would go dark. Find a place to hide out and wait for all this to blow over; except we can’t….I could, by myself, alone. I’m very good at it and it is a large part of how I’ve managed to keep Control from locating me for over a decade.” She indicated the unconscious operative a moment “He didn’t find me, he found Tamaki, and assumed I would be nearby” She sighed dropping her arm looking to Grace “as for section 6…infiltration of the organization was my red test.” She let that hang in the air for a time, she had been sent in as little more than a child, and been effective “I’m certain they are effective…I’ve seen it in action. They are however just one of the very dangerous organizations currently after me, and really I would much rather be caught by them then control” she said evenly. “we’ve been sheltered by an organization who has as yet not revealed themselves, more over one of the few allies I’ve had from before my split with the Coalition provided intel in a trusted format that has directed me in that direction” she looked toward Jenosa a moment “I don’t trust them, but we are out of options for this group…they are offering to shelter us on a ship, movement is our best bet at not being caught right now so I’m going” She looked back to Grace a moment her expression shifting a moment “I’m choosing what seems like the best of the poor choices I’ve been presented with” she said at last “no one has put a gun to your head, and no one is hunting *you* grace…were I in your position I might already be in the wind.” |

"Honey, I've been hunted since the day I was born." Grace smirked at Alissa, but did not elaborate on what exactly she meant. Let her turn that over in her head a few times, she thought. Create a little more uncertainty about who exactly they were dealing with here. It was a cornerstone of the entire persona she'd crafted for herself over the years. Even to those who'd known her since she was a teenager, there was more than a fair bit of mystery surrounding her. "Fine," she said. "You're right, I'm just along for the ride. But if we just happen to run into a guy with a Cajun accent in a bad suit and walking with a cane, then don't look at me." She eyeballed the room, noting the unfamiliar faces around her. They might not know what she was talking about, but Alissa and Jenosa sure as hell would, and probably Jenosa's clone too. "Alright, I'm gonna go make a coffee run. I'm buyin'." Well, technically Jimmy was buying, but that was a mere detail. "Who wants coffee?" ..................... About twenty minutes later, she returned with a drink carrier loaded up with coffee and lattes for whoever had asked for one. The smell alone was enough to put her in a better mood. She couldn't drink, she couldn't smoke, but she was damn sure gonna have her coffee, and lots of it please. |

At the ring of 'Coffee' coming from Grace, Jenosa actually broke out with a smirk. "You know what, if you can get me a large ice cappuccino without getting us screwed, then I'll actually consider this a happy day. And while you do that..." She flipped up her own comm which had it's own, local transmission to Alissa's ship, "Say, Thea, you wouldn't happen to know any ice cream parlors not too far from here, would you?" --------------------- About around the same time Grace came back, Jenosa walked up with a tray holding to ultra insulator, plasty caps - plastic that, with proper sealing, could pretty much keep a meal warm, or cold, for over two hours. She approached Alissa with a light, but cheeky smile on her face, and handed her friend one of the plastic cups. "A little treat for success when we jump off this planet," she said, with a wink, "hope you enjoy Strawberry sherbet. I know I do - but hey, first time for everthing, right?" She suspected Alissa hadn't tried anything else beyond simple meals and whatever just met her nutritional needs in one go. She then turn to her 'little sister', or so speak, and pointed at her commandingly, "You, by the way, are coming with me. On my new ship." Moria blinked, confused, and not entirely heading of the command. "What?!" "Go." Moria and Jenosa looked to see Tamaki with Twilight just behind her. "I'll be fine," the scientist motioned, "and I think you could use some time with your next of kin." For a moment, Moria seemed completely unsure about the prospect of following her...progenitor rather than her 'guardian' or so to speak. She had been completely dependent on Tamaki for a sense of direction, or at least clarification of what was always before her. She always knew, or rather trusted, that if there was anything ambiguous before her, she'd rely on her for clarification. But now...now everything was changing. Or rather, so much had chnged. So much that was still new, so out of Tamaki's control now. She could see that - she could see, at least for the moment, that there might be foes all around her, and for despite how Moria normally tackled a problme, she knew her own combat capabilities would not solve the problem. She had a lot to learn. A lot more that she would probably never quite understand yet - with so much of the world before her more frightening without ever being truly fatal. That much was obvious to her - what currently wasn't quite so was how...Jenosa was treating. Even sparing a quick glance, she felt strangely small before her - something that left her too unsettled to keep proper eye contact. Yet, despite all that, and everything else she had gone through, she found that - well, she found that, internally, she did want to go with the woman. Why, she could no fully understand yet. Only that her progenitor was clearly more experienced and held an easy stance of combat, like she always knew what to do in the face of danger. Or anything at that matter. With a deep breath, there seemed to almost flicker of spunk in her face before saying, "Yes, I'll come." "Great, because if you didn't I'd have to spoil the ice-cream and drag you along while giving you a noogie." Moria blinked, confused, all the while Tamaki actually sniggered. "What, I always wanted a little sister to tease when I was young. What can I say, my parents weren't exactely big lover. Now c'mon," she motioned, "before the actual Men in Black friggin' show up." |

Alissa looked to the small container of sherbet quietly her eyes locked on it for a quiet moment the ghost of a smile playing across the operative’s face. It was the first time in days she had felt anything other than anxious. She glanced up at her friend a moment. “Thank you…” she said at last before looking around the room a moment as Jenosa moved off to speak with her…sister. “I’m going to prep the stasis chamber on the blackbird….for him” she indicated the operative -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- “Try this!” Anna nearly demanded, they were twelve, on a mission, Alissa sat on a low retaining wall next to her sister, quietly “enjoying” a cup of vanilla ice cream as they watched the building across the street. Her sister was currently shoving a spoonful of something red in front of her “it’s really good!” Alissa blinked as the sherbet was shoved into her mouth as she opened her mouth to protest that they were working. Anna beamed at her sister “good right!” Alissa swallowed not really tasting the treat “we are supposed to be paying attention” she scolded her twin quietly. Both girls had their hair dyed a golden blond for the mission and were dressed in sundresses and ridiculous hats and to an outside observer sisters enjoying ice cream on a hot summer day, if maybe one of them was trying harder to act like a tween than the other. “So serious…” Anna teased her sister before looking across the street quietly “I am paying attention, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to enjoy being outside the house” she teased, using their code word for the facility. Alissa looked to her sister a moment who was looking intently across the street at the building they were supposed to watch, a small smile still evident on Anna’s face before sighing and looking back at the building. “they are watching us too you know….” “I know, and they think I’m playing my part…we both are” she giggled a bit “they can only change who you are if you let them….and I refuse to let them” she added “you won’t tell them….” “No I won’t…” Alissa agreed at last -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- It didn’t take long for Alissa to get the blackbird packed up, the operative she had captured was safely in stasis to be addressed at a later date. The equipment they had was split between the two ship, and while Moria and grace were going to travel with Jonosa Alissa found herself with the scientists, and twilight along for the right, while Cell and her clones were distributed between the two vessels. Within a couple hours they were packed up and ready to go, Alissa sat in the cockpit of her ship starting the ship, the cup of sherbet sitting on the console with a spoon, as the two ships took off heading toward what Alissa hoped was in fact safety and not a trap she picked up the cup, opened it and took her first taste, closing her eyes and smiling. |

Once everyone was on board Jenosa's newly leased ship, curtsy of Alissa and Thea, she gave the ship's AI the command to take off and follow Alissa's ship. It responded in the simple confirmation of a male voice, and the execution of the command. Inwardly, Jenosa smiled to herself - any ship she flew was normally piloted by an AI, usually the standard Magellan, and it was good to be back in one that was tied directly to her beck and call. Of course, unlike all the other constructs, she knew this one held the capacity to become far more sentient eventually, and would internally treat it would care. Who knew, maybe it would eventually become her trusted partner in crime. Regardless of the matter, she had much more immediate matters to attend to. Chiefly speaking, her estranged 'sister,' whom she turned towards inside the ship's hanger. The 'woman' - if that's what she could be called - was obviously struggling to make an independent decision of her own in this new scenario, given her flexing hands and unsure demanor, so Jenosa took that opportunity to properly size her up. She approached the woman, stopping just a few feet before, and gazed her from feet to head, taking in every detail. From the unsettling, facial similiarities, all the way to small quirks and major height difference. And boy was there a height difference, Jenosa felt. Barely a year old and this woman is half a foot taller than her, she remarked. Frik. It's like those white jackets were literally aiming to make an amazon version of herself. Then again, they probably were. But as much as she ironically approved of that, they had made Moria socially inept. Big time. Lack of vocabulary aside, Moria just couldn't keep a strait face, constantly trying to look at Jenosa but failing; which began to irritate Jenosa a lot. "Ok, seriously," she said, "if me and you are going to have anykind of future conversation, you need to actually look at me. And not bat away every two seconds." "I - I can't," she stuttered. Jenosa raised an eyebrow, "Yes you can. You gave me a scary stare back when we first made eye contact, and you barely batted an eye lash back. You remember that, right? Or," she added, condescendingly, "are you a completely different clone of me that's an absolute wuss." That got her attention. Quickly followed by a complete unexpected set of results. Immediately, Moria's eyes locked with that of Jenosa's, flaring with fire as a she yeld, "No I am not." They held for about 5 intense seconds, with Jenosa smiling near the end before an unsettling, tingling feeling rolled across her entire body. And, in short order, Moria gasped in shock, as if her entire body had been dunked in arctic cold water. Her eyes rolled back briefly from the strange sensation that racked her body, collapsing onto her knees and hands as it passed. And just like that, Moria had been recude to a quivering heap from a staring contest, gasping for breath and eyes wide like a dear caught in the headlights. "Wooh, wooh wooh wooh," she repeated, suddenly bemused, "what's going on? You look at me and suddenly have a break down? C'mon." "S-s-so...b-b-ig," Moria stammered. Jenosa blinked, "What!?" "Y-you...huge." "Uhh, beg my pardon, that's actually the other way around for me and you," Jenosa argued. Which didn't seem to convince Moria, as she had gradually shifted position like she was being confronted by a massive giant. All the while the glow in her eyes began to dim as she struggled to search for more words. She succeeded in saying two. "N-Not...p-physical." Jenosa just frowned at this, and, in denial, replied, "No. Nononono. This is - this is not happening. I didn't bring you along just to have a one-sided staring contest. I mean, c'mon, the only I got over you right now is age and exp- The red head froze mid-sentence, a sudden revelation striking her. Calmly, quietly, she looked directly at Moria, who at least managed to look back with eyes that were just as green as hers now. And, slowly, Jenosa face became sympathetic as she slowly knelt close to Moria's level. "How 'big' would you say I am?" she asked, simply. "I - I don't know," she replied. "Take something, anything, and use that to describe me. A building perhaps," Jenosa suggested. "S-Skyscraper." Jenosa raised an eyebrow, "That big?" "B-b-bigger. 2 - no, almost 3 times tall." Jenosa sighed, "Yeah...my math's not exactly good, but that sounds about right." "With w-what?" Moria asked, her quivering having finally stopped. Jenosa paused for a minute before saying, "My age. You literally felt how old I am. In what way, I can't fathom. But I can't say I want to know." Moria, strange, found herself relaxing, her face becoming less pale. "How...old?" "A hella lot older than you. That's all you need to know," she said, and, putting her hand on Moria's shoulder, added, "now c'mon. Stop acting like a pussy and stand up. I got a treat for you." Moria looked confused, but managed to find the strength to comply, standing up shakily. Her eyes - her green eyes - look at her older 'sibling' with more wonder father than fire in them, and, bringing over the thermal insulated container, beckoned for Moria to sit on of the crates. And, with a face of ironically filled with innocence, took the now open ice cream cup in her hands. "Go on," Jenosa said, cheerfully, "take a spoonful." Moria did. And her eyes went wide with the delightful taste of soft, chocolate icecream that filled her mouth. Jenosa smiled as she let the 'soldier' savor the flavor, all before finally turning to Grace and saying, "God, even my next of kin's life is going to be officially screwed up because of me." |

"I believe that the human spirit is indomitable. If you endeavor to achieve, it will happen given enough resolve. It may not be immediate, and often your greater dreams is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death." — Monty Oum | |

"Your next of kin?" Grace snickered dryly, and slightly uncomfortably . "Just keep in mind, nine months from now, the universe is gonna have another Vega on it's hands. Wrap your brain around that for a minute. But not too long, it just might explode." She had been incredibly fidgety ever since she had come on board, a consequence of badly needing her nicotine fix. She started flipping her knife open and closed, then after a couple of times realized that it was probably not a good idea to be holding that particular type of weapon around Jenosa, even if it was the only weapon she had. So she pocketed the knife and started playing around with her lighter instead. This whole matter was way above her pay grade. She may have been a notorious criminal with a nasty reputation that stretched from one end of the galaxy to the other, someone who possessed elite skills and superior athletic ability - though perhaps those were on the decline - but when you got right down to it, she was just a common crook. Compared to these super-powered bounty hunters, she was positively ordinary, no matter how good she was at what she did. And that wasn't even taking into account these epic, world-shaking struggles that these people always seemed to find themselves embroiled in. No thank you. She preferred to keep her head low and stay out of these things. Steal this thing, whack this guy (but only if he deserved it), and be done with it. Maybe those simple little jobs wound up having huge ramifications, but by then, she'd be long gone. She'd be relaxing in the afterglow of a job well done, lying naked on a beach somewhere, as she'd once suggested Jenosa should be doing instead of getting herself involved in these big messes. "What do you think about Elizabeth?" Grace asked. "As a name, I mean. I've always liked that name." |
