At first, Z'Gato narrowed his eyes in anger, his clawed hand squeezing into a fist that he contemplating thrusting out towards the woman. How did this woman listen in on a transmission that had been secured and directed towards another individual? He disregarded the question, it was useless to ask such questions now that the situation had passed, but her words and demeaning intentions infuriated the Chozo greatly.

"I had not received any transmission that indicated you were in danger, nor did I think you required a babysitter. What right have you to lecture me?" The warrior retorted before Omega started speaking, and Z'Gato quieted down in order to let his anger simmer. At least the creature had decided to side with Z'Gato, if only partially, and the Chozo at least offered a nod of respect in Omega's direction, though whether or not Omega saw it wasn't known. Omega had already proven his strength by lifting a fully-armored Chozo into the air like it was nothing, and the creature had also bounded up a wall with what looked like little apparent trouble. Z'Gato had to admit, the creature was proving himself to be powerful and clever, an individual requiring respect, even if it was grudgingly.

The woman, however, just made Z'Gato angry, and it felt the instinctive behavior to defend his own position and lash out as well, but he kept his body rigid as he stood. Just then, however, Omega's words snapped the Chozo out of his internal anger to a much larger problem. Phazon.

Z'Gato immediately looked upon the creature. "You've detected the presence of Phazon? From where? Can you show me?" Z'Gato inquired, unable to prevent his natural inquisitive nature to speak questions in rapid succession from his beak. If their target was dabbling in Phazon, such prey would prove to be far more powerful and erratic than originally conceived.

Z'gatos response was predictable in honesty, nothing in the way the warrior acted suggested that he would respond in any other way to her words but in the end she had said her piece, had explained her own frustration with the actions of the creature.

“ I was asked to make sure that you two did not cause too much damage, as you had departed without me I went to where I assumed you were going” was her response to Omega her voice was calm once again, neutral even as she returned to her normal self.

Phazon Alissa knew next to nothing about the substance, she was after all not a scientist, and those that had created her had not seen fit to share what little they knew with her as it never impacted her missions. Perhaps it was for that reason that she didn't seem that concerned, beyond an explanation as to why her attacker had been so much more powerful than she should have been.

The Chozo did raise the valid point that Alissa had not signaled for help, just the same she had been on the scene long enough to run full scans before being attacked. Regardless of whether or not she had called for help Alissa had broadcast her position to the team along with what she was doing, they delayed for a conversation that was better left for after this mission.

“Phazon could explain some things, but it does not change our focus, we just need to take greater care”

At first, nothing. Travis's shouts echoed in the hangar, going unanswered. Then as he turned around, he got his reply. All he saw was a huge thermal image in the shape of a Pirate inches from a face, and then found himself tackled to the ground. The two warriors went down in a heap, slashing and punching and kicking at one another. The scrum was only ended when Spider was filled with high voltage and got blasted back. He stayed down for a second, then staggered to his feet. His blade had managed to scorch and scar Travis's armor, but he could not penetrate it.

Realizing that Jenosa was still there, Spider fired off a few shots at the both of them to keep them at bay, then dashed away and dove for cover, activating his cloak again. And then it was quiet again. Thirty seconds of silence in the dark hangar felt like an eternity.

The next thing they heard was a volley of energy blasts that hit Jenosa square in the back, knocking her to the ground. Spider appeared out of thin air and leaped upon her, yanking her up and holding his energy blade up to her throat.

"Not one step closer!" he shouted at Travis.

...............................

"My name's Rex. Hey listen, I got a favor to ask you. You think maybe you can help me get my gun back? I ain't gonna try and escape or nothin'. even with that freeze gun I don't think I could do it. It's just... it's mine, y'know? These bounty hunters, they just straight up jumped me and stole it from me, cause they think they can just do whatever they hell they want. But I didn't even do nothin'. So, you think you can help me out?"

Deadlock.

If Travis wasn't ready to kill this zebesian before, he certainly was now. The bounty hunter's eyes narrowed into slits behind the visor as he aimed his weapon at the pirate's shelled head, unfaltering at Jenosa's current position. He didn't move, but he didn't lower his weapon either.

It was a stalemate where if either one of them acted, somebody would end up dead.

Travis eyed the strength on his shields, thankful that his suit even possessed them; they had saved him from being ripped open by Spider, whose alien frame easily towered over a human's.

Even so, had the hunter not possessed the experience and leveled thinking that came with it, he probably would have allowed his rage to take over at this point. But Travis knew better; if he became aggressive right now Jenosa would be endangered, so he instead stood where he was, aiming down the sight, waiting...

(I'll wait for her to act or for him to start talking... that's when I'll shoot him.) He thought to himself.

Travis didn't answer, complying with Spider's demand for no movement but at the same time was unmoved from his stance.

Clockwork Master

Jenosa re-actively shifted towards the the sound of scuffle, pointing her guns towards in the general direction, but, to her frustration, was only able to see a two silhouettes rolling about in a brawl. Damn it all, her vision was short; it was bad enough she could barely make out the pulsing, light blue-lined floor any further than a couple of steps, let alone Travis's suit or Spider's cloaking.

She had to make the best of it, though, working with what little she could make out; there, she saw Spider's light blue form in the darkness, and fired off a few rounds just as he did the same. She strafed the yellow, shimmering blue orbs, and shifted her aim back only to see his form fade into the shadows.

She swore at this, and fought to make her eyes focus as hard as they could so that she could actually tango with this guy rather than getting jumped on. Unfortunately to dismay, the bastard got her right in the back, feeling feeling sharp pain puncture her back and getting the pinned and held. And to her, the scythe against her neck felt a fiery buzz-saw rather than a blade made of energy.

This was definitely not the kind of position she liked to be held in at all, if her green yet fiery, flickering light blues eyes were any hint. Although her muscles tensed and her gauntlets flared in unison, there wasn't a whole lot she could do; Spider clearly overpower her in strength, and while she knew her suit was pretty durable, right now her neck armor actually felt like naked skin. This was on situation she reluctant to admit that she was going to have to wait for a damn opportunity to show itself.

-------------------------------

Alana blinked, clearly distrustful of Rex. She replied slowly, "Ummm, and why exactly should I even help you, let alone trust you? I trust the Travis character my friend's with and I barely even know him; I'm pretty sure he has his reasons for taking it away."

(OOC: No problem, at least you actually made it clear e wasn’t a pushover before he was taken out)

Trading blow for blow against the thing wearing a human’s skin, Ra was caught entirely unprepared for the attack it threw at him, the explosion shattering the thin visor of his helm and shredding a good chunk of his face. Along with both of his eyes. With both the transparasteel of his helmet and sand particles being driven deep into his skull, it would be some time before the nanomachines would be able to begin their work and return vision to him.

Throwing himself forwards Ra made one last desperate attack against the creature, missed, and received a powerful parting blow in return. Its impact shattering the collar and slamming him into his back. A cold fury over overcame the natural calmness of his mind as he heard the mocking statement of his enemy. The quiet feeling of helplessness, the inability to fight back and being easily beaten down by an inferior foe brought back memories of the last mission to G79.
When he had spent much of it being trapped within his own mind and forced to watch as another being paralysed him and attempted to turn its back on his duty while it taunted him from afar.

Snarling, Ra pushed himself upright and pulled off his shattered helmet, most of the upper half of his face having been grinded into a fleshy pulp and bleeding clear liquid. Dropping his blade he yanked the staff weapon from his belt and took aim with it, pinpointing the general direction of his fleeing enemy over the sounds of battle. Then firing.

Rather than the single red high energy flare the staff usually emitted, a storm of glowing blue drones hurtled free from the hilt and homed in on Nausewell. The interceptor drones were usually used as a defensive measure against enemy gunfire and lacked the sheer stopping power of his other weapons, but they were self aiming and that was what he needed right now. They would also keep going for close to a minute, constantly redirecting themselves towards targets and impacting against them until they were nothing but small fragments.
Ra had previously seen full grown chimera shredded by them on the few occasions they had been used as an offensive weapon.

Twenty drones now accelerated through the air towards Nausewell’s retreating back.

------

This, decided Shin, was borderline ridiculous. Laughable even. It was like something out of an old earth B-movie, back when film makers had no idea how space worked. And he should know, he’d spent enough time watching them during their missions into Federation space.
The entire ship was quite literally on silent running, the crewmen making every effort to avoid making too much noise as if they could be picked up. The knight commander had actually threatened to shut him down when Shin had taken to humming after the first hour of tedium had finally overcome what little sense of fear he had.

Did none of these people actually understand that sound did not carry across space? They could have had tens of thousands of yowling felines being butchered in the hold and no one outside of the ship would have been any the wiser. Even the friendly ones right next to them.
And just because one AI serving on a mission at the other end of the galaxy had supposedly found some form of sensor which could pick up sounds from within ships they were all acting as if this was a submarine movie.
If Shin had eyes they would be endlessly rolling by how ludicrous their situation was right now.

“AI, report” the commander said finally breaking the silence. “The newly appeared enemy fleet has not moved, no one is looking in our direction and there has been nothing from the commando team.
They still have no damn idea where we are or our scout ships are.”
Nodding briefly the commander went back to sitting in silence.

With the Federation fleet having suddenly appeared over the planet and still no sign of the ruins having been taken everyone was on edge. Shin just hoped that something would happen to someone soon and he could go back to talking again rather than being forced into silence.
And that Ra was still alive down on the planet

(I'm not crazy about this post, but it is what it is.)

"Really? You trust that guy? He's a bounty hunter, for chrissake! Everybody knows bounty hunters is all crooked as hell! These guys sell each other out for a burger and fries on a regular basis!"

Rex took a deep breath. He was an excitable guy by nature, but sometimes even he could tell when he was getting hysterical. He had his reasons though. Jimmy had been double-crossed by more than one of his bounty hunter clients. And they were always sore losers at the poker table. The kind that would accuse him of cheating and then try and blast him.

"Look lady, you wanna know why you should help me out? Cause I'm connected. You ever heard of Henry Callahan? Savage Henry? Well my brother is like his right hand man. You help me out, and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help you out when you need it. Think about that. You'd have one of the biggest names in all of crime owe you a personal favor.

"So c'mon, you gonna help me out, or what?"

.......................

"Delacroix wants the weapon," Spider shouted to Travis. "If you wish to parlay, you know where to find him."

With his free hand, the Pirate reached onto his belt and grabbed a power bomb. The first such attack had not put a dent in the hunter's armor, but that hadn't been the point in the first place. Nor was that the point this time. Spider tossed the bomb in Travis's direction, and the explosion tore through the hangar, violently rocking the Arctic Storm and singing the hull, but otherwise leaving it undamaged.

When the smoke cleared, Spider was gone. And with him Jenosa.

"Hey, wait!" Travis only managed before a the distinct flashing and hum in the room forced him to take cover. In what felt almost like a slow motion scene in an action movie, Travis dived behind a pillar with a barrel roll, coming out of it and leaning onto the stone and steel as the power bomb slowly hummed to life.

And then, there was a brilliant flash of light.

Debris went everywhere as the explosion roared through the hangar like a rampaging beast, trashing almost everything in its path but the Arctic Storm and the strongest of the framework in the hangar. Travis was tossed to the side like a ragdoll, riding the explosion out as much as he could, almost getting blasted from the hangar door in the process.

When he regained a completely firm grip and managed a good look around, he certainly didn't like what he saw. What hadn't been vaporized was rendered either flaming or molten by the intense blast, charred and red-hot metalwork scattered about the hangar.

Travis narrowed his eyes as he looked about again, getting his bearings and grimacing. They were gone... and now Delacroix had gained a bargaining piece placing an effective wedge between him and Travis' weapons; Jenosa Arma.

Travis muttered a swear, growling as he got back into the ship to survey the damage further. That pirate had to be using a very powerful cutting tool to get through the hull he figured, only one other had ever managed to.

He poked his head near the brig. "Alana, I am going to have to ask you to stay in the ship for awhile. We've got trouble; Jenosa's been taken...."

Travis then walked up to the main console and opened a channel with the other three hunters. "Hey, we've got trouble; they have Jenosa."

Z'Gato was interrupted by Travis' interjection over the communications. At first, the Chozo was incredibly irritated by the interruption, gritting his teeth together as he blinked three times at the upper right icon on his HUD, opening up his microphone in order to continue the exchange. However, once he had done so, Deadeye's words finally hit his consciousness, and the warrior bird found himself speechless for a moment. He swallowed for a moment, words somehow escaping him as he ran possible scenarios through his mind, but the disturbing and curious notion was something was actually tugging at his heart, as if he should have been more angry at Jenosa's capture than the fact their prey may have more Chozo technology. The thought was absurd, as he refused to let anyone such as Delacroix to possess technology made by his people; however, the thought lingered, his righteous fury building as his heart desired to go after Jenosa, kick down whatever doors needed, slay whoever needed in order to free Jenosa.

Finally, the Chozo spoke. "I would have thought she was far more capable of defending herself than letting herself be caught, but no matter. Do you know where they took her, Deadeye?" Z'Gato asked, putting emphasis on Travis' nickname, almost as if the bird of war had expected more from the famous bounty hunter than letting an ally fall into the hands of their enemy.

"I do," Travis continued, tapping an armored finger on the console.

"The assailant was a Zebesian; he was good, too, not a slouch like the majority of his kind. He said 'If you wish to parlay, you know where to find him'. I am pretty sure it's the destination mentioned before to us; what else could it be? Also, another bit.. he used a Power Bomb to ensure his escape from me. I'm alright as well as Alana and our... guest, and my ship isn't damaged except for a deep scratch on the hull. The hangar is trashed though."

Travis grimaced.

"He used Jenosa as a shield to keep me from coming after him, the bastard... and saw what my only chance of getting her back was too; I was going to wait for him to start rattling off and then just shoot him in the head, but he used a power bomb instead to assure I would be far too preoccupied to safely take the shot. Grr, dammit! Delacroix is a chickenshit; a crafty chickenshit, but still a chickenshit... God help him if I get my hands on him or his man."
