Well, there could be a couple of reasons for that, fox. To fully answer your question, about how much time on a PC are we talking here?

Here are a couple options I'm outlining for things in general.

#1. They automatically assume them to be nerds.
I'm not talking playing WoW in their spare time nerds either, talking about it to other players occasionally; I'm talking "pocket protectors, thick glasses, and the snort when you laugh" level nerds. I've been in situations where people assume me to be such a thing, it's not fun. People have grown to see this kind of person (maybe not literally like I described) as a nerd, geek, and/or dork, and have learned that they should not socialize with said individual unless they are, or seek to be, nerdy, geeky, and/or dorky themselves. Of course, this option has diminished with time and advancement of technology... and Myspace. Also, it's a lot more common in much younger peoples of America.

#2. It just doesn't match their interests.
Some people aren't big Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, or Email / IM fanatics like most young peoples are. Individuals I've met like to get away from it all, sometimes once in a while, other times as much as possible. These people, with their conflicting interests, may seek to avoid a computer-going individual simply to avoid being rude by not being interested in a conversation about the internet or a computer in general.

The most likely option I see with what I've been asked is #2, however.

Roffel House!

Or 3: You are spending too much time on the computer.

We're all guilty of it. Sometimes you get so into playing games or hanging out with friends online that you start doing it to the exclusion of all else. At that point the computer becomes less of a tool and more of an obsession. You've got to be careful to balance your computer usage with spending time with family, friends, hobbies, sports, etc etc. You don't want to miss out on life because of the computer. You won't remember the day you spent ten hours playing a game, but you will remember the day you spend all day walking in the woods, cooking hot dogs over an open fire. See what I'm getting at?

Ok, I would like to hear a couple of opinions regarding this matter I have to offer...

I'm saving up some money to buy myself a new laptop. Trouble is, I'm looking for a laptop that can handle some gaming action as well as the normal surf the Internet stuff. Problem #2 is that I don't really want to spend a LOT of money on said laptop. So...

What sort of things should I look for in a laptop that can handle this sorta thing without having to break the bank?

Kalos-Jojo, look at what I typed up for Curon (The one Dated Oct. 3)... XD;;; That's basically what he asked... XP Should've tried hunting during Black Friday or the days after X-Mas/Before New Years for the good deals in which things were slashed down to no tomorrow.

For now, you might need to wait... Probably around end of this month for some good deals, but keep in mind what I told Curon when it comes to laptops and wanting to game with them.

I used to listen to them, but I fast found their music much to whiny for my tastes.

Anywho, I believe this is more of a Question and Answer thread like...

(honestly too) Does anyone have any reviews on the Nikon coolpix P80?
I had a friend who was into photography recommend this camera.

Mmm...

Looking at the specs, it seems decent enough, but I'm too used to the Canon Rebel line and Sony Cybershot series, so it's a bit hard to say... I'd have to try the camera out myself to have a sure fire way to telling you if it's recommended or not. The price itself is a bit daunting though.
