"You might want to consider getting comfortable somewhere too. This might be a long day... if you want, you could take up a defensive position with the other Troopers. I personally plan on staying here to be the first one to greet that son of a bitch."

"I'm afraid that I'm going to have to deny you that priveledge, Faulias; Keeler and I have a bit of a score to settle. Although... I should probably see about getting this slight crack in my visor repaired. I'm amazed that he was able to do that, even with the shields up. Heh..." Travis replied to Faulias, performing a scan of his armorsuit while he spoke to the other bounty hunter. The readouts revealed that the suit's systems were still functioning at maximum capacity. The visor's structure was still stable and not yet compromised; he could probably risk engaging Keeler before having it fixed, but still...

What would happen if he were potentially exposed to Phazon?

((Wasn't thinkign when I first posted this, edited.))

T'kran couldn't help but roll his eyes at Al'an's entrance.

"This guy's a liability." he muttered to himself. He smirked at Titus' message though. "That's what I was counting on Titus. Think of it as inflating a balloon too much. If we fill that thing up with enough Phazon it'll probably be overwhelmed, and 'pop'. Al'an, try and hold his attention while I get into position." He didn't really need to tell Al'an, he was doign a good enough job as it was.

Hurrying around the outskirts of the temple grounds, T'kran quickly positioned himself behind Abomination, and amde the final checks to his equipment.

Code:

Phazon Injection Stage 1 complete. Link Voltage online. Ready for Hypermode.

The power conduits on T'kran's left hand began to glow. He couldn't help but release the signature Pirate battle roar, alerting everything - Wen, Kerichoan, Reptilicus and Ing alike - to his presence on the battlefield. Slamming his hand against the control unit , his armor erupted with that brilliant blue light as Phazon flooded through its systems. It even affected him to an extent , his vision becoming monochrome, Abomination's body lighting up like a Phazon-filled beacon.

Without waiting for a response from the others, he threw forward his right hand, a bright beam of Phazon lancing out of the emitter in his palm. Hoping it would overload Abomination, he was horrified when he discovered the Ing's true nature. As soon as the beam connected, his entire Phazon supply was drained in a matter of seconds, returning him to normal and rendering his PED useless.

Freezing like a deer in the headlights, he took several steps back, stunned. "Now what?!" Not even thinking straight, he panicked, firing off shots frantically at the Ing, hoping to cause at least some damage. They'd probably have little effect though.

"Al'an, try and hold his attention while I get into position." T'Kran said. Al'An simply nodded. The ex-pirate rushed around the temple and got behind Abomination.

Al'An formulated a plan of action. Most violent acts would probably grab this thing's attention, but he needed to figure out which one would hurt the monstrosity the most. Considering that this thing was a phazon infused Ing, it'd probably have a weakness to light, and or phazon based weaponry. Al'An quickly checked his weapon stats and found that he had neither of those.

Suddenly Al'An saw the pirate thrust forward his right hand and a beam of phazon struck the Ing. Al'An rushed from his position, and thought of the most risky thing he could possibly do: Physically attack the Ing. Chances are, unless it had crystallized black phazon for skin, it'd feel it.

The beam disappeared, and the Ing seemed unharmed.

Al'An changed his course slightly. He fired the jump-pack on his back and slammed down right behind the ing, with enough force to send more fuel gel rippling across the bottom of the temple. Al'An rushed backwards and quickly activated his arm cannon once more, and aimed it directly at Abomination.

"I seriously hope you can provide assistance if necessary. I am but one being," Al'An hissed.
Takeoff.

OOC: As a note, most kinds of weaponry can hurt Abomination, the thing about it is that unless its the kind that you normally use on very heavily armored stuff like ships or tanks it wont be very effective.

Abomination had his focus on the showy Al'an for several seconds, waiting for him to make his move. However before the Wen did Abomination suddenly felt phazon from behind him, about the same amount he had seen one of those federation soldiers carry around in their suits, however there was something different about this one.

Abomination didnt really bother about it however, wheter it was a PED trooper or not did not matter much, he only wanted to fight the showy one now, as it seemed to be the strongest of those present. But then he suddenly felt the source of the phazon right behind him, it seemed to be charging up, if it hit him at such close range it could deliver serious damage.

Merely a moment before T'kran shot his wave of phazon at Abomination, the phazon shards embedded in the Ing's skin seemed to glow brightly, then as the beam hit it was absorbed into the crystals on his skin. As he had let his focus leave the Wen Abomination was surprised when he saw it right in his "face", however then the Wen did a maneuver and avoided him, landing slightly behind the Ing.

A strange hiss echoed out in the minds of those around the Ing, it was obvious it was Abomination who was the reason for it, and as he slowly turned around, completely ignoring the shots fired by the panicing T'kran it was obvious that the Ing was... Amused. "We were spawned for the sake of storing phazon, there is no limit for us."

And just as he 'said' this, he opened his massive jaw, showering the two bounty hunters with the blue glow of phazon as the massive amount inside the Ing became exposed. It was obvious he was about to do something, and merely a few seconds later he began to spew a large amount of phazon almost like if it had been a flamethrower, aimed at the Wen and former Space Pirate.

((OOC: I am currently slightly drugged due to my medicine, so if there are any weird lines, blame it on that at the moment. I might make changes as seen fit once I get over it...))

A few Reptilicus began to fall back as the increase in heavy firefight continued, making sure that their Shaman was safe, but at the same time, that their sacred temple was not destroyed. Their weapons were of no use, as they had seen what happened earlier to one of their Phazon-enhanced shurikens. Titus’ suit finally finished the diagnostic, and the Kerichoan stood up, feeling some numbness in his arms, probably his suit pinching a vein when he was down for that past few minutes.

Titus had seen T’kran use the PED unit to try to get an advantage, but it did not turn out as anyone had expected, not even the engineer who was with them. The man was watching through his binoculars the effects of the Phazon on the behemoth, taking down notes as his pilot partner jumped into the fighter.

“Joey, you coming?” the pilot shouted over the din.

“Like hell I am!” the engineer replied. “I need to take these notes down for R&D and see what they can do about it. If the PED units aren’t going to dent something like that, we are in for some serious trouble!”

“All right then…”

The fighter’s engines began to warm up and hovered slightly before taking off and meeting the others. The Kerichoan took into consideration what resources were available to him. The Reptilicus were no match for this creature with their archaic means of weaponry. Even the Phazon-enhanced one were useless as they were only absorbed, leaving the alloy to create the armament into a crumpled heap of metal. He had T’kran, but already that was a failure with the Ing absorbing the blue liquid instead of being damaged by it. With a panicking former pirate, that left the Wen.

Al’An was gutsy, Titus had to give him that, but guts and strength alone was not going to win this fight. He looked up into the sky, only to remember that he had six other units, Federation fighters loaded with ballistics. How could he be so stupid and forget them? Problem was that with everyone here, it was risky to use them. He looked at the shaman.

“You will need to get your men to someplace safe,” the panther urged tapping into this wrist communicator. “The ballistics of nine ships will be heavy, and I don’t want you in the way.”

“But what of our temple?!” one of the hunters shouted in their native tongue. “You will destroy it!”

“Hold your tongue!” the shaman replied in his tongue before replying to Titus in the standard language. “Do what you must to destroy that demon. We cannot allow it to continue its destruction on Bryyo, or let it escape to bring its evil to other worlds. It will continue to consume until there is nothing left to consume.”

Thoughts were swirling frantically in the cat’s mind as all possible scenarios began to pop up one by one. All would have some sort of collateral damage to the temple, both great and small, but that was the price to pay to have some fighting chance against ‘the demon.’ Titus nodded as the reptilian hunters fell back behind the walls of the temple grounds.

“This is Hunter Titus to the Federation escorts. Do you read me, over?”

There was some static in the air due to the amount of radiation that was being released, but the message got through.

“This is PED-015, Hunter Titus,” came a reply. “We read you loud and clear.”

“Good, aim all are ballistics on that Ing and get ready to fire!”

“Yes, sir!”

In sync, six ships rotated in their positions and locked on to their massive target, the same with the Shadow Cat. The Kerichoan could see in his visor that it going to be a guarantee hit with a large amount of missiles, but he was not expecting one thing.

"We were spawned for the sake of storing Phazon, there is no limit for us."

As he heard this, a giant blue arc was emitted from what seemed like the mouth of the beast, like someone had released the pressure from a giant water balloon. Problem was, it was not water, and it was aimed directly at the former pirate and the Wen. There was no room for mistakes now. Without warning, he gave the order.

“FIRE!”

Simultaneously, a shower of missiles began to rain from the skies and shoot straight at their intended target.

The GFS Griffon had finally made planet fall, and after receiving their orders, they began to head their separate ways. Lorrilal was quiet for the most part as they entered the atmosphere, but as Tina was just pulled out of the ship she could hear the Fae’s small voice, as though speaking with another. At first, she thought it was something that the Fae had thought of to amuse herself on the rather quiet flight, but it was not so as she heard the clicking of someone undoing the harness.

“Tina…” the child whined softly. “I don’t feel well.”

Before she knew it, there was a retching noise, causing some alarm to the Watawara. With a quick change of setting to auto-pilot towards one of the docking ports in Sky Town, she unbuckled her seat and reached for a rag that was hanging off one of the bars to the side.

“Hatchling, are you ok?” the Watawara inquired as she cleaned the mess and held Lorrilal gently. “Does traveling not agree with you?”

She looked over to the display panel, watching the floating city loom over the horizon. It would take a few more minutes to reach their destination at the speed they were going at. She just hoped that her passenger would not vomit again, but just in case, she pulled out a bag from the cabinet and placed it into the child’s hands before making her as comfortable as possible in the seat.

“We will touch down soon…”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, Iola had taken off, assuming that Pyro was right behind her. She did a few loops and arcs in the air before diving into the cloud cover to get a better look of the place. With so much density in the sky, it was no wonder the Chozo thought better to build above than below. It was pretty much an acidic environment at this rate, yet somehow, the Leviathan Seed was able to thrive for a good while before it was destroyed by Samus.
She could see the satellite colonies that the pirates had built around the seed hull, which was now being used by the Federation as mining refinery and storage before taking it up into the large freighter with the smaller cargo ships. It was not anything too fancy, but then again, since when were space pirates good with décor? She laughed at the thought and touched down on one of the landing ports.
The dock workers all looked in awe at the sleek iridescent purple ship. Not wanting to give the workers a spook, however, the Lunamorph transformed into something a bit more acceptable to the humans, namely a female human. She carefully chose the attributes from what she had seen and was seeing now. Iola went with a semi-built frame of a fair tone color, short brown hair that seemed to frizz more than anything with brown eyebrows to match. Her eyes were green in color, making her seem very sinister at the same time. After looking at the mirror for a bit, she changed them to a cool blue to gray hue, making her less intimidating. The lips were small and thin, but held a mischievous look about them. She even added a few freckles to her face, just for aesthetics. With a smile, she morphed on an attire of a gray flight suit and strapped a pistol on to her side.
Leaving her ship in the care of the dock workers, she began to look around and explore a bit of this new territory, waiting for Pyro to arrive.
Nothing.
Of course, after only about ten minutes of hard searching (despite the Corporal's distractions), the dozen soldiers from Rogue had been unable to find anything, though Curon was mostly afraid to report that to their superior after only a short time. Instead, he opted for searching and not saying anything until they were no-longer empty-handed. However, as usual, while his eyes searched for anything suspicious, his mind was elsewhere. Between trying to figure out whether or not he was a psychic, to his occasional thoughts to Miss Ember (whom he missed), and the occasional random subject that popped into his head (like the fact he hadn't had a good old-fasioned blueberry pie in quite some time...) it was a wonder the soldier was making any progress at all, really. The problem was that he was easily distracted, especially in a task as vague as "search."
However, while Curon worked on the more common areas of the aft decks, the rest of the group from Rogue focused more around the more critical areas of the ships, such as the hangars, engine rooms, and cargo facilities, though due to the restricted access, they weren't able to enter the Phazon containment area, which also housed the Wraith Power Armor. Minutes dragged on and on, with no sign of success in finding...whatever the hell it was they were supposed to find.
After searching one of the cafeteria areas (much to his discomfort, he hadn't eaten in some time), Curon was approached by Doctor Steiner.
"Hey, are you alright?" She asked, her face full of honest concern as she clutched her PDA and clipboard to her chest.
"Hm? Wha--Oh, yeah, I'm fine..." Curon said, having his train of thought interrupted in a fasion that he...honestly couldn't remember what he was thinking about. "No progress here, though..."
"Alright. Its just a funny feeling, but perhaps we should check the storage room where the Wraith is stored in," She said, turning towards the hallway towards her target. Her project.
"Uhhh...Sure. Can we get in without the skipper's code though?" Curon asked, obviously worried about trying to go into the room without the proper approval.
"I was just about to contact her about that," Doctor Steiner said, grabbing one of the phones on the wall and dialing a number. It was an easier to contact someone on a ship such as this without having to walk all over the place to find one specific person.
As Doctor Steiner did so, Curon's thoughts were, once again, seized by his feelings for Miss Ember. She said she would try to find Curon, but he had never heard from her since then, longing to hug her, hold her, again...
T'kran almost dodged the Ing's attack, but not quite. His eyes widened as the wave of Phazon erupted around him, his PED trying and failing to store the excess energy being forced into his armor. Letting out a roar, the Pirate threw himself out of harm's way, but it was too little too late. His PED overloaded, his suit was absorbing the Phazon instead. So much had been fed into his armor that he could feel the corruption spreading throughout his body already.
No. Fight it. I've mastered this before, and I can do it again. It can corrupt my body, but not my mind. Not my soul. I must fight it... or I'm just as weak as any Pirate!
Clutching his head, he growled in pain as he forced himself to stay sane. Staggering on the spot, he picked himself up. His armorsuit had reacted with the Phazon it had absorbed, forming hardened Phazite plating along much of its surface. Almost every gap in the plating was glowing an eerie blue colour, and his narrow visor was now glowing as well.
He felt in control... for now. For some reason, he laughed. A distorted, twisted version of his voice produced the sound, however. Pointing at the Ing, he shouted a taunt in Zebethian, and ran his thumb across his throat. Tapping his weapon a few times, he prepared his ship to unleash a barrage of destruction on Abomination.
"Al'an, Titus, get the hell away from that thing!"
Doing his best to avoid any further attacks by the Ing, he locked onto his target, and his vessel moved into position on the outskirts of the temple. Tapping his weapon again, he laughed once more.
"Die, you ugly son of a bitch." muttered the ex-Pirate, and his ship was suddenly alight with weapons fire. A barrage of energy bolts, withering, relentless anti-ship railgun shots, and a seemingly endless swarm of plasma missiles bombarded the Ing from afar, with little regard for collateral damage. Several stray shots blasted holes in the temple structures, or collided with Fuel Gel deposits and sent the burning yellow liquid flying everywhere, or even annihilated any unfortunate Reptilicus that got in the way.
If Abomination survived, T'kran would have been very surprised.
OOC: Two aerial bombardements on the same day? Wow.
The Ing watched on as the phazon he had spewed towards the Pirate hit its mark, Abomination knew vaguelly how a PED worked, how some versions could absorb outside phazon sources, however the amount that had hit the pirates armor was far more than a simple PED could handle. However before he could do anything more the sound of missiles launching from the sky could be heard, and as Abomination looked up into the sky dozens of missiles started hitting the ground around him, engulfing him in a huge explosion that became even stronger due to the fuel gel under him, some of the missiles even hitting straight on.
Even through the sound of the explosion one could hear a screech of pain, and shortly after Abomination staggered out from the cloud of smoke the explosion had created, it was obvious he was wounded by how several of the phazon shards on his skin was broken, and how parts of his flesh had been torn off, he even seemed to be bleeding, as a combination of the black liquid like substance that made up his flesh, as well as the blue of phazon, was dripping from his deeper wounds. Even how he stood told that he was prety badly hurt, he seemed to be barely able to stand on his five legs.
However there was no respite for the Ing, because just as he had regained his balance he could hear the pirate... laughing? And as he looked towards him he could see that something rather unexpected had happened, it seemed the phazon had merged with his suit, however, that would most likely mean something was wrong with it or the pirate now, in the end the same result would happen. However one thing he had not counted on, was how T'kran had a ship on his own that had even more firepower than any of the ones present at the temple.
Once more the sound of ballistics going off could be heard, however as Abomination looked towards the incomming aerial bombardement he had already formed a plan. As the ship projectiles began to hit the ground around him, Abomination roared in pain once more, however as the area around him was engulfed in fire and covered him he melted, turning into his puddle form as he went under the grating, into the fuel gel, ignoring its burning as he moved under it in near lightning speed. As the explosions cleared there was no trace of the Ing, however just a few seconds later a black substance shot up from the grating under one of the federation fighters.
As the black liquid substance hit the ship it seemed to explode unnaturally as it wrapped itself around the ship, then merely a second later sinking into it, turning the ship into a dark purple color as the pilot screamed in terror over the radio, just a few seconds later a pained scream could be heard and then the radio died, just a moment later the ship blasted off at a higher speed than what should be possible for a standard fed fighter.
---
When the ship of the Watawara flew over the clouds of Elysia, another ship approached the floating city, flying just under the cover of the clouds. It was going for a different part of the floating city however, and as the Watawara's ship touched down on the airdock the much smaller ship hovered onto the rebuilt spire dock.
After a few minutes heavy metal steps could be heard clanking against the spire dock floor as a cloaked figure walked over the massive platform, metal limbs could be glimpsed as the figure walked forward, the movement pushing the cloak aside briefly. While no direct features were visible, if you were infront of him it would be easy to see the dark red energy that glowed inside the chest, and inbetween the small spaces of the metal.
---
Twilight had been looking around the lower floors of the large ship, trying in vain to locate whatever they were looking for, however during all his time on the floor he was currently searching through, there was this familiar sensation emanating from... Somewhere... He could not tell directly, and as such he had at first discarded it as imagined. However after several minutes he decided that it had to be something of importance, and as such he tapped the side of his helmet. "This is mercenary Twilight, I think there might be something on this floor and I request additional aid in searching it through." He said, and as he did set his com-unit to broadcast his current location as he continued to search through the floor.
OOC: Hope you dont mind Jefe, if you want I can change it.
All Al'An saw was Phazon. Apparently he was struck directly in the face. Radiation levels were dangerously high.
Seconds later Al'An heard the screech of rockets, getting closer. He was fully aware they were firing at the Ing, and he knew he had to get out of the way or else he'd be completely destroyed. There were too many missiles for his armor to protect from. He activated his jump pack and soared to the left, eventually striking a crate. Or was it a crate?
Al'An had narrowly avoided the missiles, yes, but he struck one of the phazon containment units still present from the collection efforts. Of course, it exploded, showering Al'An with yet more phazon, as well as fracturing his armor and sending him tumbling towards the Ing.
Despite his injuries, Al'An rose once more, dripping phazon. He pointed his arm cannon at the Ing, but heard... More missiles? With a look of total disgust on his face he dashed away from the Ing, this time looking where he was going and avoiding the missiles as well as other obstacles.
The Ing was bleeding black ooze and Phazon. It looked injured. Al'An rose his arm cannon again and aimed for the deeper wounds. He fired off several Nova Beam shots, but he had no idea if any of the shots hit. He walked backwards and knelt down, trying to get the medical systems in his suit to administer more medi-gel to his wounds, and to dull the pain in his chest.
(OOC: Twilight was confused about this, so let me make it clear that Keeler is not being possessed by an Ing. This is all just phazon hallucination)
"Be honest," John said. "How much longer do you think you have before you are completely lost?"
The hallucination was now crouched directly in front of Keeler, who hung his head and sighed. He tried to calculate his time of exposure, as well as how long it had been since he had first started exhibiting the symptoms. It was a difficult undertaking, as time was a blur. Not to mention the gaps in his memory, even though he was trying to remember things that had just happened.
"Maybe a few more hours," Keeler said. "Perhaps if I work quickly, I will be able to do what I came here to do and make my escape before I become a wild beast."
"Oh come now, you know that isn't true," John replied. "You're deluding yourself. You're already long gone."
"What makes you say that?"
"Because if you were still in possession of your faculties, you would not be talking to me right now, would you?"
Keeler looked up, this time not shying away from eye contact with the Darkling in his head. "Perhaps you are right... this is not the act of a sane man."
"No... it is not."
A fiery glow appeared in John's eyes, and were becoming more hypnotic by the second. Before, Keeler had struggled to look John in the eye. Now, he couldn't look away.
"Now listen very carefully to what I am about to tell you."
Keeler listened. And when John was finished talking, he knew what he had to do.
............................
There were noises coming from the other side of the door, alerting the hunters gathered outside the storage room.
At first it was just voices. Well, one voice. Keeler was the only person in there, as far as they knew, so he must have been talking to himself. Were that indeed the case, then it was clear just how far the phazon corruption had progressed.
Then there were loud clanking and banging noises, like objects were being thrown around in there. Large, heavy objects.
And then suddenly there was pounding on the other side of the door, booming and echoing up and down the corridor. The heavy blast door shook and convulsed, and after and few good smashes started to bulge outward.
Something was about to go down. That much was obvious. Exactly what that was... that was the frightening part.
(OOC: Arx, DA, KH, and Twilight, go ahead and reply, but don't spring into action just yet. Play this little game with me for a bit, and I promise I'll make it worth your while B-) )
