Hope you can deal with the pigs, the boar especially. People really don't understand how truly dangerous and destructive that feral hogs can be to property, life and limb. |

Hence the trap. My brother usually carries the .22, and I carry my rifle and my handgun. If he hadn't broken the stock of his rifle, we'd have two .308 rifles with us. With the new job, I intend to build an AR 10 (think AR 15, with a longer barrel, in .308). Either that, or I'll get an M14EBR, chambered in the same thing. A semi-automatic version, anyway. I don't want anything in full auto. Although, I bet, since, at least in Arkansas, you can use any means you want to kill hogs. Some people use explosives. If I actually felt like getting a Class 3, and waiting for a while to get something, I'd get a minigun and just hose them down. |

Okay, four RP posts since yesterday, six dating back to Sunday. I'm on a roll, here. Haven't had a posting frenzy like this in a long, long while. Let's see how long I can keep this up. |

I'm late to the party here, but Alkarii, it's important you nail the whole sounder when dealing with pigs. Look into the traps that JagerPro makes. They're extremely effective, and the company is run by retired/discharged military guys. They are very, very good at what they do. The traps are elevated paddocks that fall to the ground with a command from your smart phone. You'll get automatic notifications via an app to your smartphone, and you can watch live video to determine when to drop the trap. Pigs wisen up to walk-in and standard corral traps, but pigs literally can't look up, so they never expect the drop-downs. Sorry to say, just shooting every pig you see is highly ineffective. It only takes one surviving sow to restart a sounder. Also, I would check with your local USDA office. The USDA recently received millions of dollars of funds to specifically tackle the feral hog issue. It's very likely you can arrange something with them to eliminate the hogs on your property. |

Yeah, my brother wants to get a one of those kinds of traps. The reason we're using this one is because his father in law said that the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said it works. Which it hasn't, so far. As for the hog sticks we have out there, they've really only attracted the bears. |

I just deposited my first paycheck from my new job. I made more in two weeks than I made in a month at my last job. If I hadn't been sick for a day, I'd have made over $1k. |

Congrats Alkari! And a woot for me... just finished part 2 of a writing project I've been working on for about a year now. It's currently at 90K words and I've got a whole other part to write, but I think I'm going to actually finish this one. So woot!

I would like to extend a personal w00t to the members of Reality's Exile. In my absence, this place continued running unabated. I'm happy to see that members continue to explore worlds and societies with their proverbial pens and imaginations. This place that inspires people to create... and even encouraged at least one that I know of to become a published author. WOOT to all of you. |
