Good news! My four string is almost finished being painted.

Better news! That band my brother and I were wanting to put together is now up to five people who want to be in it. Now just two more guitarists and a second bassist. And a place to practice.

Best news! The guy who is painting my bass gave me contact info for a luthier who could make me a custom guitar or bass, and just might cut me a deal.

I've always wanted to do this but:

MUWAHAHAHAHA, the core mechanics for the university project (Which is a application for a smart phone) is DONE. Granted there's plenty else I can put on, but the core functionality, which is what I need for a good grade, WORKS.

My own personal hell just froze over: Three Rings, a video game company, FINALLY released the gunner update for their MMO Spiral Knights.

Almost a year in the works. But it brightens my day to see the game still is beating.

i'm triple posting, but it's been a while...

I played Firefall for roughly an hour and half today, in a zone where I normally have difficulty completing a Melding Outbreak. And in that time span, we, the players in the map, actually cleared the map of several outbreaks AND did the very difficult Sky Dock. All of which difficult despite it being in a VERY low level area.

My day of Firefall is complete.

I guess I'll post here. I'm still alive. I finished up quite possibly my worst semester at university, so hooray...

It's not that my grades were terribly bad, I'm just... I don't know. Very burned out. I no longer want to do any graduate work at all, which I had planned to do for a while now. I just want my bachelor's degree and then I can be done with it. So now I've got two semesters left, which is basically a year. Mmm... it's pretty close. That's a little scary.

I did get a good, part time job offer from a start up company for next semester, so I'll actually make enough money to do more than scrape by during school. So that's good.

...and CEMP, Firefall sounds fun. That's a scifi MMO, right?

Yes it is. Free-to-Play Sci-fi, open world MMO shooter (Can be found on steam) where you can switch between 1st and third person view. Some people have described it as being a mixed between Borderlands, Tribes (Jet packs!!), and probably a dash of GW2 dynamic events. It's probably one of the most mobile MMO's I've played (Seriously, with the right frame and gear, you can scale some tall places).

It's not perfect, and there are still a few things to work out, but I personally feel it's gotten solid. One of my pet peeves is that the starting (Coral Forest) zone needs more incentive for veterans to visit. In fact, this is the exact zone I was talking about - and the side effect of this is that when people do group to together to wipe out the Chosen, it's actually quite endearing. I mean, like, Melding Outbreaks and Sky Dock are all doable in Coral Forest, they just normally don't have enough people to do them effectively.

But when you're actively map chatting with everyone about which watch tower to hit next, it becomes quite a team event. Especially when you've finished several Outbreaks only to check the map and see that Sky Dock is up. And then excitedly shout it, and actually have people come. And then ACTUALLY complete. It's so rare to get so far in that event; plus it was actually my time going all the way.

But MAN. By the end, it was just me and a Bastion defending the supply ship while everyone else did their job in priming the fuel cells. And I was forced to go God Mode and whip out my Firecat frame. It was intense, but the victory was felt across everyone who had participated.

Ok, so maybe I'm trying to sell this game, but I love it despite its flaws. Check it out if you must. In fact, if you're interested, sned me your E-mail if you intend to; we both get goodies if one of us sends an e-mail invite.

Just got a nook of my own for my birthday. Looks like a big smartphone.

I found out the other day that Home Depot extended tuition reimbursement to part timers. Now I just got to find a high demand field.

Edit: also, just after clocking in, I saw that some fuck noodle left one of the price tag printers near the front of the store, with price tags all over it. A handful said one cent. That's used by the department head to decide whatever price is necessary for a clearance item. I showed it to the manager so he'd unlock the compactor for me. If I get another award for it, I get a bronze award, and I think I also get a little bonus.
