The only bad part is that we only get one copy, so my laptop is on its own. T.T |

Good and bad news: I've got a new laptop - huzzah! The computer the laptop was meant to replace turns out only to have a minor fault rather than a fatal one, and is still under warranty - huzzah! The CD drives on neither work - bugger. |

I FINALLY got myself a deer! It's the biggest buck I've ever shot... a respectable 7 pointer. I had a fantastic weekend camping with friends up in the Georgia mountains. It was like hunting in the Catskills again. I also got Georgia's fourth only record of Golden Eagle. And I saw a big bear track. You can see my photos on facebook (if you've got a facebook account). Check it out! |

Hehehe, I knew and saw this news before Aiko posted this, so this isn't a huge surprise, kekeke. My own little whoot: One of my old high school friends just called me and invited me to a video game tournament on Saturday with a bunch of other old friends. Talk about a blast from the past! |

Just looked through one of our three family heirlooms, the family bible. While I'm not 'religious' myself (by other people's standards at least) the book was crammed full of old memories, and dozens of cards from funerals past. It was a real nostalgic experience, and I even found a crisp $2 bill in there! |

Well, just want to say I'm back more or less. All that's really in the way these days is some last-minute school-stuff that the teachers are going to try and rush. But here's what's really been keeping me busy, I know it starts out as a rant but it has a happy ending: Now, you all know we got a dog a few months back. Well, we also have goats, chickens, cats, and two kittens. Our mom made the mistake of getting the kittens, thinking they'd be Best Friends ® over time. Well, our dog has been a total brute to the kittens, the first couple of times he got a hold of them he'd mauled 'em prety good. He didn't do any permanent damage, but he did bruse them quite a bit (may have broken one of the kitten's tails in fact) luckily they've gotten bigger and tougher since then. Now, something else is that our chickens are penned in with some of our goats, but some of them do know how to get out. He managed to catch one and he killed it. Well, unlike what everyone else thought, we were willing to give the big doofus another chance since he was still just a puppy. Well, not long after that we saw feathers everywhere, but no body, so there wasn't enough evidence really. Nothing much went on after that, though he was getting more and more rebellious, we'd tell him to sit, stay, no, etc. He knows those words, knows them, but chose to ignore us. Anyway, last week he got into the chicken coop. That's way different than him just nabbing a wayward chicken that wouldn't stick to its own running place. My brother and I were at school at the time, and if my parents had been home, they would have shot him then and there. They fumed for an hour before we got home and we all talked it out on just what to do. We all had no idea, my mom was furious, I was getting frustrated, my brother didn't care, and my dad felt really bad. We think he got into the chicken coop a second time after that, but we're not sure. Anyway, it got to the point where we'd tied him up, a thing we didn't do since our yard was fenced, but we just couldn't take it anymore. We were basically waiting until we'd all gathered up the courage and decided we would shoot him. Well, my dad decided we'd go for one last chance and try to give him away because there is no way we're going to drop him off somewhere for him to be someone else's problem. I know a family with a strong throw-away mentality for their animals and it sickens me, I would rather their deaths be quick rather than for them to be starving and terrified until whatever comes and takes them away for good. But I digress. It took a couple of days but my dad did manage to find someone. They really love big dogs (which our dog was and happened to be only 6 months old) and recently had to put down theirs because it had gotten really old. They wanted a dog that would alert them of strangers coming to their house, our dog managed to advertise himself well when they arrived. They had two really little kids, and our dog was even taller than their youngest, a little girl, he ran over, snuffled all over her face, and romped off before she burst into tears. She was fine, except for maybe a few slobers. The boy, maybe about a year older than her, had a fun time with him. The mom and dad decided that, yeah, they would take him. Now, we'd never gotten around to giving him his shots, and we didn't want to land these people with that charge, so we gave them some money for it, and a bag of dog food, and enough chewies to last him forever. When people start handing out a ton of stuff you've gotta be suspicious. I was worried they would bring him back but the guy actually called my dad saying "I feel bad for taking your money because he's such a good dog!" I think that's what did it for me. Our dog has a happy, loving family, and he'll be both an indoor and outdoor dog. I'm really glad for him and I'm so happy we didn't have to shoot him because he really deserved this second chance at a life. But most of all: I was remided why I'm a cat person. Whew! Long woot there! |

Bleh, cats. I'm a dog person. My mom's dog Bristol is currently at my feet. He's a 90lb lab/rott mix and a total pushover. Lol. You'd think we were murdering him every time we have to clip his nails. |
