I just heard about this today, all I can say is. That was one skilled and/or lucky pilot,he must have had a good eight dozen guardian angels with him at the time.
Just one of the many stages of self denial.

Oh, he was skilled alright. Flew fighters in the 1970, used to be on the national safety panel, is a licensed glider pilot, advanced degree in human psychology during emergency situations, the list goes on. If anything, it's the crew and passengers who had guardian angels watching over them when they got this guy as a pilot. Period.

I BEAT CULEX IN SM RPG (Super Mario RPG)!!

The funny thing was, I wasn't expecting to beat him on my third try, 'cuz the try was supposed to be a reconnaisance to get info on Culex's and his crystal companions' health (Using a la Mallow). Character's of use: Mario (Obviously), Peach and Mallow.

Probably one of the reason why I pulled through was how I subsequently timed the use of Red Essence, which essentially makes one of my character's invincible for a short amount of time. I did on Peach, and she pulled the party through.

Awesome i tell you.

And now i feel like giving Smithy another spin!!

I don't know if this is good or bad or not, but uh, I just got interviewed by a reporter of the university newspaper about the Oconee Rivers Audubon Society feral cat panel discussion coming up. Great, now I'm getting nervous about the whole shindig, since I'm moderating what will probably be a relative blood bath. x_x Wish me luck people.

I don't know if B has this yet or not, but if she doesn't, I feel like notifying her about (But mostly taunting her with it :P ). I found, and bought, this at the comic book store that i visit on a regular basis:

Granted, this picture I found on the net is slightly different in terms of position and how much of the art is actually being shown, but its nonetheless the same. And YES, as you can see on the bottom, it's a manga series; does this mean another story? No, not quite; all the new stories do seem to be continuing via novel (This i quickly found out after i bought the manga).

This is old stuff from James's first Maximum Ride novel (The Angel Experiment), at least the first part of the book, all brought to life on the pages of a manga (Traditional Japanese style from what i can tell). Does seeing the old plot brought to the pages of a comic disappoint? I think not (Why would i be in this thread if it did).

In fact, one of the primary reasons i got this was to see how well the manga-nized (I made up word XD) contributed to the original novel. My thoughts: It's the closest thing you're going to get to a movie (Though i heard rumors they were making a movie of, but that was a long time ago). There's plenty of nostalgia to be had here for old fans, and NaRae Lee definitely does justice for the characters. All of them appear to be very much like their novel counterparts, and that what brings them all the more to life.

The plot itself almost exactly follows the one in the novel, with very few minor details missing (POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR NEWBIES: I believe one of the wolfies in one scene was supposed to have a laser eye). Character emotions and their development is excellently portrayed, at least from my point of view. This is definitely a very good adaption, considering that NaRae Lee didn't know any English when she was given this assignment.

On two sides notes: Gazzy is both cool and adorable. Where the cool comes from may be due to the hairstyle, and as for adorable...well, just read the manga. Funny thing, but my brain tends to sometimes skip physical details, and his name actually got me a little stereo-typed (I'll leave it to ones imagination). I was actually surprised at Gazzy's drawn form, but if i had a choice between the one in my head and the one in the manga, I'd go for the latter XD.

Second note: The manga shows a small tidbit of one of James Patterson's upcoming Maximum Ride Novels. That's what got me search for the rest. Need to remember to get those for next Christmas alongside Starcraft: Ghost.

Okay...

I've actually heard the rumor of a Maximum Ride manga for about a year now, but for it to have been actually made? Awesome!

Of course I was instantly brought down by the idea of another Maximum Ride novel(s). Shit.

The first and second were fantastic, the third was okay, but got too Greenpeace there toward the end, all "you can save da world too!". The fourth was utter crap and no redeeming value. What. So. Ever. It must be burned a thousand times over and its ashes scattered to the four winds in fear that it might come back together again. (well okay it's better than the Twilight series, which should tell you my deep hatred of that. But don't get me started. Read the book reviews topic for that)

Oooh man. I just went to the bookstore today, so there's no way my brother is going to let me go anywhere Monday!
Someone made the mistake of letting me publish a book, check Dusted Here!

I knew i would get a reaction like that :P .

Yeah, tell me what you think of if you ever get your hands on it. I feel like I might have over exaggerated on my review, but so far, nothing about the manga bothered me at all; except for the fact that i knew the entire plot already.

Oh, and thanks for the heads up on those two other novels ^.^
