Well, my sister had her baby today. I spent much of the day at the hospital, and mom got pictures of me holding her. I didn't see that angle mom took the pictures from, but chances are (should I actually post them) that you guys would get to see me with my new haircut, so that's two birds with one stone there. |

Geh! Flex! I completely missed your turtle post! Egads! Anyways, turtles aren't laying eggs at this time of year. Chances are this turtle was just migrating to a deeper pond to spend the winter. Since you're in Idaho, good wintering ponds/rivers are few and far between. I recommend returning it not to where you found it, but to any deep water in your area. Taking care of turtles is messy business. They require a water filled hybrid tank with terrestrial basking spots. Their water needs to be changed very frequently, and for a turtle of the size you're describing, at minimum you'd need a 30 gallon aquarium to house it properly. Of all the reptiles I've ever had experience with in captivity (and my list is impressive), I despise taking care of turtles the most. They're just messy, smelly, and more likely to carry diseases and parasites that are transmittable to humans. Not to say that turtles are completely bad, I just personally don't like taking care of them. Also, it may be illegal for you to have native reptiles as pets. Every state is different. Here in Georgia you're not allowed to keep any native reptiles or amphibians as pets unless you have a state or federal rehabilitation or education license. Just something to keep in mind. And Alkarii, CONGRATS!! Can I call you Uncle? ^____^ |

My brother's got a five-year-old plus, I ain't yer "unkle." Anyway, my sister's boyfriend's mom (the current boyfriend isn't the father) had asked if my parents were counting on me to produce the first grandson... while I was sitting next to my dad. Not a chance of that happening. |

I guess I never gave you guys closure about that story. We didn't keep him (we verified it was male) in the sense that people would expect. We put him in the swampy area of our land. It's got at least ankle-deep water in it year round and it's away from any busy roads so it's pretty nice. Of course, that was after my dad showed him to our goats and he bit the nose of our most curious one (the turtle that is, not my dad). Then again, my dad has to learn things the hard way sometimes. The goat is fine, she just didn't trust us for a couple of hours after that. |

I am now the proud owner of a Gundam 00 1/100 High Grade Gundam Dynames model kit. It's freaking awesome, being a sniper and all, and apart from a slight case of limp-wristedness (it's poseable), it came together without a fuss. Now I just need to get the 00, Kyrios, Exia, Virtue and Throne Drei... |

WOW... I was unaware of the limitations in Georgia (makes note not to let Isis bring Turtles home) We just moved into west Georgia, little town called Tallapoosa (probably never heard of it).... anyways... Something else to mention, and my true reason for opening the woots... tho not entirely sure this is where it would go... Epsilon Eridani has been found to have an Earth-like solar system... I say again, Epsilon Eridani (think halo books) has been found to have an Earth-like solar system. Here's the link to the story... http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20081027/sc_mcclatchy/3082054 |
