Due to stress and a busy week, I didn't bother saying anything about this until now.

I totaled my car on Tuesday. I had been sent across the street to pick up two employees and bring them back, and I couldn't find one of the used cars to take, so I took my car instead. On the way back, I tried to cross, and I didn't see the lights of the vehicle I hit. Nobody got any serious injuries, but power lines fell, and a lot of places lost power.

However, I do stand a good chance of losing my job over this. Even if I don't, I should look for another job anyway. There's too much traffic in this area, and the intersection where it happened is frequently the scene of a collision, and the back lot of the dealership where I work is always overflowing, making it difficult to move cars anyhow, and people keep driving through it way too fast.

So because of my anxiety issues that I've already had, I keep feeling like the stress and anxiety will make it too difficult to work, and this kind of creates a positive feedback loop.

Hopefully, though, I don't get fired, and I can at least get the citation and deductible paid. Hopefully I've built up enough credit that I can get approved for another loan, and get another car.

Good lord, my coworkers are racist. So, so very goddamn racist. It's like they think I can't hear them. Or because I don't speak with an accent, they forget I'm brown.

This whole area, man. Seriously, it's just one thing after another, everywhere you turn. Screw Dallas. I'll be so happy when I get to go back to San Antonio.

I worked with a guy who is Hispanic, and I didn't even realize it until he told me. It's pretty easy make that mistake, though making racist remarks isn't something that a workplace should permit.

You should start wearing a wire and file a complaint.

No, man...

Leaving aside the impracticality and absurdity of that scenario, it's not about being harassed personally. If that were the case, that aggression would not stand. It's about those everyday comments that people make that you they don't think are racist, but totally are. "So why do black people always complain about..." "You ever notice how Mexicans always..." "I'm not racist, but..."

Yeah, yeah you are.

I live in the state of Texas. Dumbass rednecks saying and doing stupid racist shit is just a fact of life.

And it's gonna get worse. It's already getting worse. You know why.

Please don't blame this crap on the election again. The vast majority of the people who voted for Trump did not do it for racist reasons. We've had a president for eight years who has repeatedly blamed a lot of crap on white people and/or Christians, and has repeatedly been disrespectful of this country and our military. If Hillary won, it was likely there'd have been more of the same.

Further, to clarify, Texas is not, in fact, the entire country. Yes, white folks in Texas have a reputation for being racist. And, at least here in Arkansas, Texans have a reputation for being dickheads who think that they're better than everyone else, and every other part of the country is shit for not being Texas.

Do I personally think all Texans are like that? Nope.

When you keep saying things like what you just said, that actually makes you look just as bad. So yeah, you've had to put up with people being shitty to you for a stupid reason for your whole life, but when you go around saying that white people are going to start being more racist, that's just as bad.

Can we avoid these kind of mudslinging conversations, please? Yes, I realize Boss's opinion on his co-workers is potentially biased, and may have been worded quite strongly with the 'R' word. Even so, everyone is biased.

Sharing opinions is fine. Blowing steam over frustrating aspects of our life in this thread is fine. Yacking about whether whether one's politically correct on racism or not isn't. Because chances are, both sides are heavily biased; and the only thing coming out of this conversations is nasty slap fight.

If you've got opinion's about someone's opinions, discuss it over PM. Not. Here.

It may not be immediate, and often your greater dreams is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death."

I'm gonna need to apply for another job pretty soon.

I haven't quit or been fired, though. It's just that the supervisor is apparently okay with the other people in the shop doing whatever they want while there's work to be done, and I'm the only person working.

If I do manage to get another job, they're going to have it pretty rough after 5pm. Why? Because I'm the only person who works after that time who can drive a stick shift, and I also do a lot more than the other two closers. More than once a week, I get as many cars cleaned by myself as they do combined.

If they'd quit stopping for smoke breaks, and walking away from the vehicles they're supposed to be cleaning, then I wouldn't be doing more than half of the work.

But the boss is totally fine with that, because the past few days, I've seen her bullshitting with them when all of them know there's work to be done, and they do this RIGHT NEXT TO ME while I'm working.
