How many people got that reference besides me? I'm reminded of the joke about Pagliacci the clown... does that make me a bad person? |

And now, a Multi-Rant: ......................
Allow me to perform a public service for the gentleman from the Metroplex, as well as all those pearl-clutchers who are worried how they're gonna explain this to the children. When your kids ask you, "Daddy, what does that mean that he's gay?", you answer, "It means that he likes boys." And that's all you gotta say. If they require further explanation, then you say, "You know, like that one boy in your class who paints his nails and jumps rope with the girls." It's not necessary to go into the mechanics of gay sex. After all, you don't take your kid to a wedding and give them a play-by-play of what's gonna happen at the hotel in order to explain what's going on, do you?. And quite frankly, if you hear that Michael Sam signed with the Cowboys (practice squad) and all you can think about is big sweaty muscled men rubbing all over each other... then perhaps a little self-reflection is in order (not that there's anything wrong with that). Besides, your first thought should've been "He's probably better than the corpses and felons this sham of a football team is currently trotting out on defense." My first thought was, "Hey, we got the guy who wiped that smirk off Johnny Football's face." In closing, I hate you, Jerry Jones. ...................... With all the tributes flowing in for Joan Rivers, everybody is ignoring the elephant in the room. And as far as elephants go, this one's a goddamn wooly mammoth. Quick, what's the first thing you think of when you think of Joan Rivers? Besides catty red carpet interviews. Probably plastic surgery, right? Well, how did she die? She didn't just suddenly collapse and was rushed to the hospital, as might be understandable for an 81 year-old. She stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest during an elective vocal cord surgery. On the one hand, this could just be a tragic accident, or perhaps the result of negligence on the part of a clinic that probably should have been shut down years ago (entirely possible). But you think maybe, just maybe, after approximately 9,836,458 operations over the past 40 years, her octogenarian body decided it just couldn't take it anymore? I'm not drawing any conclusions here, but shouldn't we at least be talking about it? Still, this is probably exactly how she wanted to go. I'd bet money on that. ...................... Just once, I'd like to see a black TV anchor who doesn't sound indistinguishable from a white person. Just once. ESPN doesn't count. Neither does Al Sharpton, because cartoons aren't real. Maybe they're out there somewhere, on local newscasts. I dunno, I come from South Texas. Everyone on TV here is Mexican. ...................... Anita Sarkeesian is right. Guys, show more respect for women. It's not hard. Grow up and act like men, not a bunch of fratboys. |

I'd heard a really great quote that will be perfect for this: It iisn't what's between your legs, it's what's between your ears. Granted, it was in a different context, but I'm certain the person who said it would agree it's appropriate here. |

Today is the 30th of September. And I just saw my first Christmas commercial of the year. *pounds head on desk* In the future, the Christmas shopping season will begin in January, just after the New Year. Edited by The Boss, Sep 30 2014, 02:32 PM.

Not counting Christmas day and today, that only leaves 85 days until Christmas! How could anyone possibly get their shopping done?! But yeah, it's absurd. All I can really think to ask for this year is bullets for my gun and strings for my basses and guitar, so I'm easy to shop for... again. |

For years my brother and I have wanted to form a band together. So since I haven't been in a band in years, I decided I'd get into a band. I checked guitar center to see if anyone needed a bassist, and noone had any postings up (though they do change everything at the first of the month). So I took the initiative and made my own posting. "Bassist seeking metal band. Interested in original music. Text (my cell number)." Two days later, I get a text, and I'm stoked as hell. After hauling over 100 pounds of equipment up a flight of stairs, they tell me they want to do '80's thrash covers until they figure out everyone's capabilities and the sound they want. And the songs they want me to learn are songs with fucking boring bass lines. So I made an amendment to my posting that says I am ONLY interested in original music, and no covers. I'm going to make aflyer later and put it up, after I've found a way to market myself. Edited by Alkarii, Oct 8 2014, 06:26 PM.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138046-School-Shooting-Threat-Sent-to-USU-about-Anita-Sarkeesian I'm trying to wrap my head around the part "Feminists ruined my life" part. Are we talking super zealous feminists that completely miss the idea of equality, or am I missing something. |

It may not be immediate, and often your greater dreams is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death." — Monty Oum | |

stuff like this has been going on for a while now but only really seems to be getting a lot of attention right now which is not a bad thing. I know way too many women in the industry that have had their jobs, reputations, safety, family, and lives threatened because they chose to speak out. its gross and scary and I wish I could do more about it than stand up and be counted. In my opinion though what is worse than the guys making these threats are the people who are staying out of it....if you see someone being doing think they are wrong but don't say anything you are part of the problem, these people wont respond to me telling them how horrid they are but they will respond to their peers. |

Yeah, I find what's going on here to be both baffling and disgusting at the time. It's just bad that woman not only have to sometimes work harder in life to get somewhere decent in their career, but that they get a target painted on their back simply for speaking out. In many ways, it scares me too, because of how vitriol the situation can become, verbal or physical. It really makes me questions the male mind. Or rather, the education males in general are brought up with <.<. |

@Previous Rant: Men don't know how to be men and this is why it all gets spiraling out of control. Super Simple Stuff @Now Rant I am the generic protagonist in real life. I have no specialties, I am a jack of all trades, yet a master in none in everything I do. I can do something in a way that would make sense to Braniac McGee and Jock Strappington. I can spin tussles with the higher intellects, but even simplify myself down to the Hill Billy Bob. I can speak to Bill Nye about the things of science with ease and even go to my Pastor to talk of things of faith with ease as well. Anything I pick up I can use, mentally. I'm average in strength, tall in stature, and relatively moderate in speed. I am cynical and think that people are jerks at best, myself included. I am no Paragon of Society, that's for people who think they're all that and a bag of chips. I'm not even all that. Maybe the bag of chips. I've noticed in a circle of friends I'm not the leader, nor am I the Sixth Ranger. I can fade in and out of any social group and begin talking to them about things that affect them. While everyone is the hero to their own story, I wonder how many people are a generic protagonist. I am a generic protagonist, throw me in a setting and watch me fit in as easily as the generic antagonist. |
