COMM LINK ESTABLISHED
PRIORITY ONE MESSAGE
RANT COMMENCING...

I strongly dislike Halo 3. For some odd reason, no other online game infuriates me to the degree that Halo 3 does. Maybe the creators tried their hardest to make a coherent, well-made game, and I'll respect them for that. However, in my opinion, the physics engine often jumps through hoops for people, and the amount of time most 'typical' players spend to become '1337' at it is ridiculous. It gets to the point where online play is, frankly, unmotivating and discouraging. Especially in clans.

I've been through now four clans, that soon after I left/kicked out/whatever, slapped on 'minimum' skill requirements, as if that was the end-all-be-all of one's skill in Halo. Nevermind whatever squad-based tactics I might know of, nevermind that I throw myself in front of enemy fire in order to give my teammates time to flush enemies out and eliminate them, nevermind--GAAAAH!

I can't stand this game. Single Player is awesome, especially ODST, where stealth is an actual option, but for some reason, Halo3 and all of its online shenanigans infuriates me to no bloody end. The 'professional' level of gaming seem to be the worst elitists I've ever met, and if you don't spend 8 hours out of your day playing Halo3 (more specifically, matchmaking ranked) you're clearly not good enough or devoted enough to play the damn game.

Maybe this game just isn't for me. I just hate how I have to basically fly across maps in order to be anywhere near competitive, where I have to be 100% accurate with all of my shots in order to be anywhere near competitive, where I have to know all the maps inside-and-out to be anywhere near competitive. The kind of military analytical thinking that these 'groups' put into each of these maps would make some REAL LIFE MILITARY THEORISTS blush.

I'm going back to Modern Warfare (1 and 2) where the physics actually make sense, and I don't have to go to great lengths just to be considered good enough to be on a 'team'. At least the online experience is playable there.

EDIT1: I hate falling out of touch with people. Seems like some of the people I would count as good friends rarely contact me anymore, or for that matter, aren't even online anymore. Sometimes I miss saying simple hello's to people, sometimes I miss having actual conversations with them, and if I knew how to get them online again, I would. I don't often name names in such threads, but I'm thinking about Jessie and Transcon specifically, but this also extends to other people.

EDIT2: It's aggrivating to grow up. Going your own separate ways, doing amazing (or not-so-amazing) things such as college, military, foreign jobs, etc. You lose contact with some of the best people you've known in your life. You move on to other friends, other people you socialize with, but in the end, you can't help but miss certain key people that used to be part of your life. I hate constantly looking through my MSN or AIM list and seeing 2 dozen names that I have never seen log in since 2007.

EDIT3: Maybe I'm just being negative here. I can understand that the internet isn't everything, and maybe I truly spend too much time on it, but the endless cyberspace is just that: endless. There are so many people out there that I feel crushed by the weight of intimidation and fear. I have so many problems making new friends that its ridiculous. Maybe that's why I miss so many people, because they're -familiar-.

END RANT

You know, UCAS probably has the worst system I have ever heard of. It's a system designed to try and make the job of transferring from college to uni to be easy. Well, that's a frelling joke.

Since the end of August i've been constantly trying to get the paperwork finished and done, only for my college, tutor, universities and fate itself seems to be constantly pulling things out of their arses to everything going through.

This has ranged from sending information to e-mail addresses whcih are not mine and never gave them, to stopping it in order for me to list failed GCSEs as well as the ones I got right second time round, to total frelling misinformation.

It's a bloody joke. And two days ago I find out the reason for the latest delay. For the past two months I've been repeatedly told to await a e-mail from UCAS for the status of my form to change. After searching the entire damned UCAS site and finding nothing one of the people from a universities i'm applying to thankfully gives me the info I need.

Rather than waiting for a letter or e-mail and for UCAS to change, it turns out I have to go onto 'UCAS track'. A totally different site which the main one has no links, information or even mention of and I'm now meant to change the status myself. This. Is. Smegging. Insane.

If I ever find the BUN tyen-shung duh ee-DWAY-RO who made this system he'll end up with my boot so far up his rear he'll be tasting rubber for a week.

The entire system is frelled to hell. If you live in the UK good luck trying to get from college into uni via UCAS. End of rant.

I just recently got back from an eye doctors appointment, and it was discovered that I have a disease called 'Lattice Degeneration." To spare you all technical lingo, basically, the edges of my retinas are degenerating in a lattice pattern, and there's a chance that my retina could detach itself and damage my vision. The chance is even greater since I am nearsighted, as far as research has told me.

Joy of joys. Now you get to have laser beams shot into your eyes Fatalis x(

Also, minor rant; we seem to be hitting the peak of a relentless heatwave down here. The weather reports are showing high pressure pocket after high pressure pocket, the air is completely stagnant, humidity's up above 80% and the temperature doesn't go below 15 degrees (Celsius) even on a cloudless night, which there are plenty of because THERE ARE NO CLOUDS.

It's snowing here, after the snow had JUST MELTED from the weeks-long snowstorm we had on the east-northeast coast.

Switch?

Gladly. Can't remember the last time I saw REAL snow, not on an artificial ski slope. Even back in the UK. Part of me wishes I was still there to experience the ungodly cold spike they've been suffering.

I am mildly frustrated in trying to make an appointment for an advisor for the University that I'm going to, as it's been very difficult to get ahold of one, especially since my school doesn't allow me a very good window of opportunity to call them. Also, I end up having to pay about 50$, and while that alone isn't much, having to do it three or more times is starting to become troublesome >.>
