This is probably why technicians, engineers and other people with professions related to my current field of study like to keep a log books. Other than that; ouch. I can vouch in that sometimes I can't remember some of the most basic stuff. Heck, I met one of my Industrial electronics teachers this summer while working at camp, and I couldn't, for the love of god, recall his name right away. We just said 'Hi,' but it was still embarrassing since his name had stuck to me for these last two years. I only remembered it after a while. |

Well, the results for a test I had back in early February have come back and it turns out that there's an 80% chance that instead of dyslexia and dyscalculia I may instead have asperger's syndrome. Yeah, good to know now but the news is about ten years too late. |

And the last I recalled, my mother had told me the doctors had considered me autistic when I was toddler. I seem to have a tendency to prove people wrong. Kind of annoying how were all sometimes labelled by psychiatrists. |

Seems to me when you don't act to a vague definition of 'normal' that they like to stick some sort of label on you. Everybody's got some sort of syndrome now. e_e I think that they just label you autistic as a catch-all, basically a synonym for "we don't have a fricken clue what you are, but you're not 'normal', so we'll call you this!". Sort of like multiple sclerosis. It's diagnosed frequently but really difficult to prove, since the doctors aren't even sure what it is. |

I've never been to a doctor of that kind but ooh lemmie tell you I'll bet they could come up with at least half a dozen labels for me. There's my family background, my own teenage history I doubt would even be the shadow of 'normal', and a handful of other things. So, to add to that, I now have a kind of phobia of psychologist types. Don't worry though EP, I've never been able to retain any skills. I'm a bit like that with drawing, been doing it for years without any kind of improvement really. I can't recall people's faces either, whereas my brother can recognize someone he briefly passed by in a crowded store a year later when he passes by them again. I can barely drive, I still have no idea how to get around in the town I've lived in for ten years,I have the focusing ability of a gnat, and I just woke up this morning going 'woah, this is real life?' because I'd had a night of very vivid dreams and it took the logic side of my brain forever to warm up, leaving me in a very befuddled state for about half an hour. But I don't ever let any of that bother me at all. Blender will come back to you, just play around with it, don't try to make anything serious yet. My brother has been on and off a very complicated program as well for the past ten years (again, that ten year mark) there are some things he forgets, but I can't even begin to describe the stack of papers of little tips and tricks and coding type stuff he's written down. He may make sense of it, and if not, it's enough to give him a reminder. No matter how stupidly obvious it may be when he writes it down, he'll write it down and then look it up later. We're all just a bunch of crazy nutjobs here, suddenly forgetting how to do something is normal I would think

Hey, CEMP, when I was going through primary school the doctors tried teir damnedest to prove I had autism, asberger's or one of many other mental illnesses. I proved them all wrong, though. Turns out I'm weird for no reason other than it's just who I am. And Rip, I have exactly the same thing when it comes to dreaming. I've yelled into my pillow on more than one occasion because it turned out that shiny new PC/PS3/etc was a figment of my imagination. Nobody's normal. The world would be boring if they were. I really fucking hate when people think they're normal, and think that you are not normal. Here's some truth: There is no normal. The only thing that is normal, is there not being any normality. At least, when applying this to people. It happens to me more times than I can count, or care to count. |

Y'know, this time around, you actually made a sensible statement about real life - because applying the term 'normal' to a human being is utterly meaningless. It's just an abstract concept, most likely used to control and brainwash people XD. Honestly, I just ignore such twits, our society is so plagued them. I go about making my own life, following my own morals and such, and ignoring those that think I should conform to society's ways. |
