I sneezed whilst shaving, and now I've got a long cut across my ear. Then I used aftershave on it. |

Tvae, my brother is in RIT, and he says don't bother registering at 6AM in the morning. Sleep in, enjoy it, and laugh at all the students struggling with an overburdened system. Chances are your classes won't fill up. Are you a freshman? Anyways, if you need tips/tricks with RIT, lemme know, and I'll get you in touch with Jake (he's already EP's advisor, lol). |

My fish died last night. He was a little blue betta fish, got him from PetCo and named him Alpha (yeah, corny, I know). Little bastard made it all the way through my freshman year of college in the dorms (and the trips home I had to make when we are required to leave for spring break and such). Sure, I only cared for him for a year before he got sick but I still feel kinda sad about it. Alpha, you'll be missed, buddy. |

Thats sad to hear. I myself was extremely saddened when one of my fish (Rews, my favourite as well) disappeared. 'Course, I found him later when my bastard of a cat decided to spew all over of the kitchen floor. Almost started crying at the sight of it. Probably the smell aswell. Gaaaaaaaaaaah... This is more of a "GAH WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE" than a rant, but sometimes they're the same thing... Just found out I failed computer science 2. Again. (Although, first time it wasn't a true failure, it was an 'incomplete'. Not so lucky this time.) Also failed a small nothing course I was taking, cause I missed the period for the online final because I was too busy working on my computer science project. ... Luckily, I did manage to pass physics 2. Which I had been iffy about. But that still doesn't make up for computer science... And I had been so sure I was going to pass it too... I mean, I know all the stuff, and a lot of the time I finished things in class long before/with better quality than the other students... I just hated that teacher. Okay, so it did turn into kind of a rant. Still. No idea what I'm gonna do... |

I must be defective somehow. I just managed to completely botch interacting with my own family. For about three hours I was entirely silent and did nothing but pace, look like a creep, and seem either sad or autistic. Maybe both. And that has also managed to put me in a massive self-hating mood; I seem to have gotten into a spiral. Worse, I don't know if I have anything to get out of it with. I'm not asking for help. I'm simply saying this so that it won't stay locked away and bother me forever. I know, I know. I post so many things that are really minor about myself that really aren't rant-worthy... |

No prob, Qualanx, that's what the thread is for. Little things like that build up with me too, and it's usually a conglomerate of minor problems that gets me angry rather than one or two big ones. EDIT: Also, FUBARing interacting with your family sucks. I've done that before too, and it can make things kinda awkward if you REALLY manage to screw something up like I did. Hope it gets better for you. Edited by Metamyth, May 31 2009, 11:32 PM.

Things aren't always as bad as you think they are, Qualanx. My parents were watching the news once and, after sleeping in, decided to go and sit with them. The first thing my dad says is, "Terrorists just pushed a guy in a wheelchair over the edge of a boat." Me, thinking they'd meant the opposite (handicapped guy saves the day) says sleepily, "Cool." My mom looks at me funny and says "Oookay looks like she's going to be a terrorist in the future." It took me the better part of the day to figure out what had happened. After that I felt really terrible. A friend of mine had a similar experience. She was watching her favorite show and her dad was watching a scene with her where a guy was choking on a razer blade. Her dad says "You like this stuff?" She thought he'd meant the show in general and not the gory scene said, "What's not to like?" It turned into a big fight and everything and she felt horrible afterwards. Don't worry, it happens to everyone. You can't be 100% all the time and your family understands that, even if they don't say so. |

That reminds me of something that happened to me when I was in high school. I casually mentioned to my mother one day that I needed a pair of black boots. Now, this was in the wake of Columbine, and my mom was already starting to get a little worried about me thanks to my taste in music (at the time). She interpreted my desire for a pair of black boots as a sign that I was a charter member of the Trenchcoat Mafia and started to freak out and said she was gonna put me in counseling. The real reason I wanted black boots was to go with my black jeans. It was simple color coordination, and my mom thought I was about to shoot up the school. Which, BTW, is pretty difficult to do without a gun. I don't think she thought of that. |

Haha, why am I not surprised to hear a story like that come from you, Jefe? Dang. Beflexor, you've always been a closet terrorist. That's why you're so good at being one in Heroes. Qualanx, things will get better. We've all done things that we're kicking ourselves for now. |
