Can somebody please explain to me why in the hell everything is all Christmasy already? Today's November 14, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but all over the teevee there's Christmas carols and trees and snowflakes and f**king Santa Claus! Now, I understand that people have to gear up for this stuff early so as to be prepared when the time comes. In fact, at work they're already starting to hand out the Christmas shirts, so that everyone gets theirs before we can actually start wearing them. I get that. But see, we're getting ready for the season behind the scenes, not out in public and definitely not all over the teevee! But everyone else is doing it! Why? Why oh why oh why? Why must the holiday season start earlier year after year? [Tangent #1: And why the hell are some people so offended by the phrase "Happy Holidays?" I'll admit, terms like "holiday party" and "holiday tree" are annoying to no end (and I'm an atheist), but they act like "Happy Holidays" is an assault on the moral fiber of the nation (second of course only to Janet Jackson's partially exposed breast). I mean, I always thought that the holidays in "Happy Holidays" meant Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, given that they all occur within a month of each other and all. Makes perfect sense to me, and it's much easier than saying "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year." You're cutting seven words down to two. It's not an attack on Christmas, it's efficiency!] [Tangent #2: And the same thing goes for the word "Xmas." It's not done because people hate the Baby Jesus, it's because they're lazy and don't wanna type out a ten-letter word when they can just use four letters. Notice how nobody actually speaks the word "Xmas."] Anyway, back to my main point. I don't wanna have to deal with Christmas right now. I don't wanna hear about it, I don't even wanna think about it, not till Santa's fat jolly ass is rolling down 34th Street in the parade on Thanksgiving morning. That's when the holiday season is supposed to start, not two weeks before Turkey Day! And definitely not in f**king mid-October! Sweartagod, people were getting all festive and shit even before Halloween! That's not right. We don't start decorating with pumpkins and witches and spiderwebs in July, do we? Of course not. SO WHAT THE F**K ARE F**KING SANTA CLAUS AND HIS F**KING ELVES DOING ALL OVER THE F**KING TEEVEE?!?!?! F**K!!! Look, when the time comes, I'll be as holly f**kin' jolly as the next guy. I'll put on my Santa hat and talk about peace on Earth and goodwill towards men (cause even though I'm a self-professed godless heathen I kinda like that idea). But right now, today, this moment... Bah, humbug! *passes out* |

Trust, choice, it seems like an illusion when everyone else seems to decide for you how you're going to use the two. Some people are just sick. |

Bored, but I must say right now just how excited I am. A movie I've been waiting for since I read the book comes out on FRIDAY!!!! Going to the midnight showing Thursday night... Well, while I'm bored I'm gonna try to write a post for Ghost Light, some more poetry, and maybe finish someone's picture that they don't know is coming to them... Ya know... I just realized that I accidentally posted this in rants instead of Woots... OOPS... could someone please move it for me when they get a spare moment? That's O.k., Tobias, I'll go ahead and twist it into a rant from my personal self. I am SICK of hearing the hype from this series! I read Twilight, against my will (and better judgements) and, contradictory to what everyone has said, I see the same damn thing as most other vampire novels. Now, I know a lot of people will argue that with me and be in my face spitting out their little factoids they managed to glean together in a few seconds. "NO NO NO You see her vampires are different! They can go in the sunlight and stuff!" Huh. Some vampires from the Blade movies could do that, as well as some from the Underworld movies. Given they were so-called 'hybrids' in some cases, but the point remains. "Well, Edward is in love! Vampires usually don't care about humans or have love interests--" It would be at this point that I would shut the person's mouth for them, as this is a horribly flawed statement. Anne Rice, another famed Vampire writer, had a character named Lestat, who, in Queen of the Damned, was about to feed on a girl when he found her attractive and fell in love. At the same time, he was physically attracted to the Queen of the Damned and her power. He could go out in the light, too. Just saying. So, this guy had TWO women. Which makes the questioner twice as wrong. Now, this rant would not be here if this hadn't happened at a friend's house not but two days ago. I'm not cutting you down, Tobias, or anyone who reads the books whatsoever for that matter; in fact, I support you, as you are doing something I cannot. I am merely stating that the books are NOT as spectacularly unique as everyone makes them out to be. Ranting done. My apologies. |

Hey... no offense taken... I have actually been introduced to another series of vampire novels that I think are much better than the Twilight books... The House of Night series... they're pretty neat... I mainly like the idea that keeps coming up lately of the sunlight thing being mainly myth as opposed to having to have an explanation (ie. Blade's hybridity (is that a word?) Lestat's feeding from Akasha... things like that) At any rate I personally LOVE how wrong all the vampire novelist get things, its quite amusing. But the main reason for my hype over the Twilight movie is to see how much of the book actually makes it to the screen properly (and the fact that I'm pretty much being forced to, but I don't mind that she's forcing me)... their casting sucks, they don't have a CLUE how HUGE a frakking difference there is between a 51-53 chevy truck as opposed to a 58... WOW... it feels awfully good to get all that out about the twilight movie... thanks... |

Please please agree with me on this one thing: I personally think the guy playing Edward is seriously fugly and the only reason girls think he's cute is because they associate him with Eddikuns. Oh, and Stephanie Meyer's vampires are made of disco balls... |

they needed Hayden Christensen for Edward and Rachel Leigh Cook for Alice. They seriously need better casting and better writers (i mean hello... a car wreck due to RAIN in a town that gets rain 80% of the time??? when it was SNOW in the book...) Now I have to decide if I want to draw her glasses or not... |
