Transcon, I'm perfectly sane, thank you very much. If I were to become insane, I would certainly be sane enough not to attribute my insanity to the presence or absence of a microcellular organism living in my neural tissue. Honestly, who do you think we are?

Rip, strikes rarely last for that long. The school will be losing a lot of money with all the teachers going on strike which suggests to me that it will be in their best interest to get this over with as quickly as possible. I'm sure they'll get this resolved quickly, so don't give up hope just yet. There are some things you have control over and some you don't, there's no sense worrying over things that are beyond the scope of your abilities to fix. I understand that it's frustrating and that a lot of money is involved, but you're not the only student in this fix. I certainly smell a group lawsuit in the air if the school refuses to compensate you if your academic calendar is disrupted too badly.

Holy crap... Ok, so I go to bed at around midnight, and sleep pretty soundly when all of a sudden, the fire alarm goes on at freaking 3 AM. Now, if you've ever been at UCSD's ERC area during a fire drill, you will know that these things are LOUD to the point you can hear it halfway across campus. I fall out of bed (Ouch since I landed on top of my Physics books and barely missed my laptop), scramble for my shorts and a jacket, grab my glasses and phone, and run out down three flights of stairs (Third floor... Gotta love it...) to the middle of iWalk (International House).

The RAs are all out, the RSOs arrive, followed by campus police, but then I notice that it's only the Cuzco building that has their fire alarm active; Asante and Kathmandu are both silent, but people have come out to see what's going on. Then someone points out that the suite on ground floor across from us had water flooding the common room. Not good, huh? Well, turns out the sprinklers in one of the dorm rooms had gone off. How? Not fire, but a bug. There was a mosquito or something that was buzzing around the smoke detector, but the guys accidentally hit it instead of the bug. Well, guess what? You just woke up a third of iHouse, thus a very cranky falcon is present since they didn't let us back for half an hour since the alarms can only be turned off by the fire department, AND I couldn't fall back asleep until 4 AM...

Not so much a rant, more of a brain fart on my part.

So I finally got around to watching the Hitman movie today. I begin to wish that my PS2 wasn't fried so I could go out, buy the games and play them. I mope around for the best part of an hour, when it finally slaps me in the face.

Hitman and Hitman 2 are PC games, too.

I have a PC

It's good enough to run them.

I have a torrent downloader.

I have internet access.

I swear I almost punched myself for being so thick when the answer was right in front of me. WoW isn't the only game I've got worth playing right now, because I can always download more! ^o)

Ever notice how over time you know you should be worried about something but really don't until it smacks you in the face?

Well, I've been whacked over the head with a sledgehammer!

I'm beginning to realize what an incredibly massive undertaking my dissertation research is and what an absolute nightmare it's going to be to analyze and write everything up. I wouldn't be surprised if my dissertation exceeds 200 pages. Not only that, but I still have my orals, my defense, and my comprehensive exams to worry about. Let's not forget that the last grad student falsified his digital data (he's fired now) and I have to enter in 6 years of data by myself.

AAAAAAH!

So yeah, the reason it hasn't really hit me until today is because I have to make a poster for the national Wildlife Society meeting in Miami that's the second weekend in November. I already have the poster pretty much done, but I can already see assumptions I've made that aren't backed up by any statistics and it's bothering me a lot. But, I can't run the statistics until I have all the data entered, so I'm caught in a catch 22.

And my professor says I stress too easily. x_x Maybe I do, but I can't help it. There's just so much to do.

Some of you guys are probably wondering why I did not reply to you guys during this past weekend. The reason was that I was sent to the emergency room early Friday morning and did not return until late Sunday evening due ti a gallstone attack (PAINFUL SOBs...). As of me returning, I am terribly drugged from the morphine and other medicines, and trying to catch up on my work despite the fact that the teachers are giving me an extension.

Chances are that I will be going into surgery mid to late November to get rid of this problem once and for all. There are no more alternatives other than to take it out, which I am dreading since despite the fact that I like playing with knives, I don't like them being poked into me. Oh yeah, did I mention that one of the nurses missed my vein like 6 times before another nurse came in and got it in one-shot? That hurts!!!

So yeah... Just a small explanation for my absence this past weekend, as well as a rant... -.-;;;

Today's been a great day for technological failures, are printer isn't working at the least convenient time. Our only cord that we can use for the xbox 360 started having problems,oh,and my $60 mic broke right after the other one did! It was working fine earlier today,so now that limits us to one, semi working mic,and tomorrow is probably one of the worst times for it NOT to work!
Just one of the many stages of self denial.

Earlier, a representative from the electric company came by with a shut-off notice because there's an overdue bill. He said that we've got until 8 AM tomorrow morning to pay it.

Here's the real bullshit: my parent's ALREADY PAID IT. Seriously, every damn bill collector does this, about every other month. I really wish I could find the people who decide to ignore a payment that we've made, and stab them with a brick or something.

Eh.. You're not the only one... There are always those type of people out there... What you should do is just tell them that the money has been sent, check your bank if it has been processed (Assuming you are using a check) and go on from there. Usually it's good to record when you sent it, make copies of the documents, and fight them that way. I had to do that the last the time people wanted money for the medical bills last year because they did not get in touch with the insurance company and were pretty much threatening me...
