This is a Sci-Fi RP that does NOT fit in with the canon of our Sci-Fi section. It has nothing to do with metroid, and as such I am placing the info and (hopefully) the RP itself here. Anyways, time for IMPORTANT INFORMASHUNS.

Also this is supposed to take place in OUR universe, with OUR history. But anything past 2008 will be made up.

2531. Humanity has learned from most of its past mistakes, and harbors a stellar empire. However, colonization of most of these worlds went much differently than originally expected. The environments were not tailored to fit Human needs; Humans were tailored to fit the environment. "Humans" capable of surviving in high heat, high pressure environments colonized Venus. Skin-breathers colonized Mars, with its thin atmosphere. The Celestials, the epitome of Transhuman research, live in gargantuan rotating cylinders about the solar system. The largest one, Celes-1, orbits mighty Jupiter. Colonies have been set up on the myriad of the Gas Giant moons, containing yet more modified humans. However, the original, "Plain Jane" human, still resides on Earth.

Most of these colonies were wiped out a hundred years prior by an unknown force. Earth, Celes-1 and Titan are the last large clusters of humans in the sector. Other beings, the Haas, have arrived in the Sol system. They were not the ones who decimated the "Human" population, but peaceful colonists who only wish to help. But the Haas appeared to have brought something with them...

And now, the remaining variations of Humans:

Human- The original, Earth-Grown human. Nothing of importance to really say here, other than the fact that they have spawned several thousand subspecies to be described below.

Celestial- Transhumans. Immortal, silver-skinned machine beings. They gave up their humanity and dedicated their immensely long (if not endless) lifespans to research and peace-keeping. They are much, much more resistant to extremes than humans, and can survive in space with next to no armoring for up to a week. They cannot die of natural causes, but they can be killed. Oftentimes they are more attractive versions of themselves in their human life, but wear armor to mask their identities.

Celestials name themselves using the initials of their first and last names, followed by their birth date. Example: John Smith, born June 17th, 2083 becomes JS-2083.

Psykes- Government agents in possession of incredibly powerful psychic implants and augmentations. Their existance is known. They are feared throughout the Sol system by Haas and Human alike, and are usually employed to cut down Fringe Mobsters or various other dangerous individuals. Their eyes seem to glow a painful energy, and if a Psyke observes an individual for a long period of time they may be able to synchronize brain waves and read their thoughts. Psykes and Warpers despise eachother strongly.

Warpers- Warpers are, well, warped. Usually physically and mentally. Most Warpers are demonic in appearance, and like Psykes, have psychic and telekinetic power. Pyrokinesis and Cryokinesis are used quite often by Warpers, as is something comparable to Voodoo or Black Magic. Some believe that Warpers have traces of power the beings who destroyed most of the Sol Empire had. Names tend to be cruel sounding.

Synths- AIs and Bioconstructs fit into the Synth category. Most AIs have physical, humanoid bodies, although others are built to do specific tasks such as repair planet-hoppers or Haas starships. Bioconstructs are generally guardians, living batteries, or creatures created as warfare devices. May or may not be humanoid. Botched Bioconstructs run rampant through the southern Russian Wastes and the Middle East.

Creeps- Also called Fetishists. They are more or less the useless fifth wheel of humanity, dedicating their lives to pursuits that do not actually benefit Humanity. They include Furries (Basically, real versions of the various anthros visible on the internet), Strangers (Dedicated to the even stranger fetishes out there, and most often shunned by the rest of humanity due to their behavior and activity), and The Abhorred. The Abhorred consist of those whose fetishes are actually dangerous to the lives of other humans, and have been deported to the Plutonic Wastes or Charon to freeze and rot.

And now, the Haas:

Name of Race: Haas (plural Haasi, possessive also Haasi)

Homeworld: Krz'Zval (kurze-ZVAAL) Current status: Uninhabitable.

Current Capital: Migrant World (Gargantuan space station. Mars-size. Has an atmosphere, silicon based surface biosphere, surface colonies of Haas. Orbits Regulus, and has experienced a planetary eclipse courtesy of Keterek.)

Physical Characteristics: The Haas are vaguely humanoid, with two arms and two legs. They have a long, almost tubelike protusion for a head, which comes directly from their neck. It is unknown their facial features, as they always wear an almost-full body cloak they call a "Veil". This hides their faces, and acts as a cape. Usually legs are visible, and it can allow the wearer's arms to poke out of it. They have long limbs. Their veils are often decorated elaborately with swirling fractal-like patterns that seem to shimmer in a way that no known technology could possibly produce, and these patterns are one of the ways that they tell each other apart. The other way is scent. Each Haas has a unique scent, and only other Haas can pick it up. It is faint, even to them, so a Haas spy could infiltrate a Haas compound and not be detected.

They have three fingers and a thumb. On females, these are clawlike. On males, they are almost flat (not like paper) and almost rectangular in shape.

(I will draw a generic Haas male and a generic Haas female. They are hard to describe.)

History: The Haas have recently begun to invade (for lack of a better term) Federation space. Although they have no hostile intent (or at least, no known hostile intent) they are treated as nuisances and enemies in outer colonies, but welcomed closer to the Galactic Capital.

Prior to their invasion of Federation Space, they resided in the Large Magellanic Cloud, where they were almost constantly at war with almost every other species in close proximity to them. The war was over control of a gate, the co-ordinates of this gate not leading to any point in this universe, but rather, a point in a different one. Strange energy signatures have been detected coming from the gate, like none seen currently before. The Haas believe that this energy is from highly advanced weapon technology, on the other side of the gate. They have tapped into this power, and have seemed to gain magical skills from it. Federation scans of the gate have turned up inconclusive, as have Haas scans. It is made from alloys that shouldn't exist in this universe, but are somehow stabilized by some strange force. The gate was activated approximately 5700 galactic standard years ago, by an unknown, non-Haas force.

After that, advanced species in the Large Magellanic Cloud believed that the Haas were attempting research on new planet-killer megaweaponry, and a war sprouted from a mystery began. Most casualties were on the side of the Fossil-Fuel burning Haas, until something else came out of the portal. Three headed humanoids calling themselves the E'Tin. They were significantly more advanced than the Haas, and used all manner of superweaponry against the enemies of the Haas. The war continued to rage for several millenia, until yet another race of beings emerged from the gate. They were titanic, and refrenced to only as the "Others". A nameless fear arose in the minds of all in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

The Haas were evacuated from their world by the E'Tin, and the world's core was imploded, causing the planet to fragment and turn into a vaguely sphereical cluster of gigantic asteroids, held in the spherical shape by gravity, and kept from falling together by E'Tin gravitic repulsor fields. The gate remains active, although no energy like the spikes reported by the E'Tin when the Others arrived have been detected.

Since this, the Haas have been nomads, living either in the Migrant World, a space station of E'Tin design that is so massive it nearly dwarfs Mars, or various worlds that this station has orbited.

Culture: The Haas place incredibly high importance on their Veils. In fact, removal of one's Veil outside the Migrant World is the ultimate disgrace, and is usually followed by ritual suicide. In fact, these Veils are almost as important to the individual as the individual is to itself. The greater value a Haas places on its Veil, the more things the Veil seems to be able to do for it. For some odd reason, longer arms are a sign of status.

Language: The Haas have a complex, runic written language, and they speak a language that is nigh-impossible to understand or replicate by others. It is crackly, harsh, and broken-sounding. (If you're having difficulty imagining what they sound like, they almost sound like the Geth from Mass Effect.) They retain their crackly harshness in their accent when they speak other languages.

Technology: It is quite possible that their greatest technological marvel is, themselves. They do not seem to have any organic qualities to them, nor do they resemble Silicon-Based life in any way. It is more than likely that they are sentient, reproducing machines.

They have Federation-level technology, as well as a strange branch of technology they call "Arkh'anzm", which sounds eerily close to the word "Arcanism". This technology appears to use focused streams of energy to alter molecular structure, speed up chemical reactions, or alter the basic principals of certain objects. They rarely use this technology, due to its incredibly strong energy signature. The E'Tin have advised them that this energy would alert Hyperbeings outside the galaxy to their existance, and investigate them, possibly causing more problems than using the technology is worth. They have adopted most Federation technology concepts. They shun biotechnology, seeing it as a pointless practice.

Relations/Alliances: Unsteady alliance with the Federation, strong alliance with the E'Tin. They despise nearly everything else in the galaxy.

Notable Members: Zraarkr Knz Ztl, embassador of the Haas, Vaarz Skz M'Chuz, long-dead war hero of the Gate's War.

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

The Haas and E'Tin may be introduced in another section of RE.

If you have any ideas, feel free to add them.

Its really, really bloody dangerous, but a Haas will protect them. A Celestial may also protect an unchanged human.

NOTE: The Haas may eventually be introduced into the Sci-Fi section. So just ignore all the parts about the Federation for this RP.

YES.

I've already got a character that fits the bill perfectly.

Remember my one rarely-used character, Fiera? She'd fit in perfectly with the Furry group (don't laugh, please). Although, as with her Metroid incarnation, she'd be somewhat less of a drain on society. Maybe a Furry Pyske?

If not, I can easily come up with one, probably a Bioconstruct or a Warper. Either way, this sounds like a great idea. Qualanx, I salute you.

I'll be a vanilla human without any special enhancements or anything like that, probably.

If I join, I'll do the same thing as Scout. I'll just be a normal human. We've got unexplored advantages of our own, despite how mundane we seem to ourselves. ^_~

This is wonderful. Not one negative comment! :D So we've got 3 people interested so far.

Anyways, I'm debating on whether or not I should use a Haas or a Celestial. Or both.

Also Nightclaw, thats a good idea. Furries can and sometimes do become Psykes.

Yeah, Fiera's feline, so she'd probably have very good eyesight, hearing, agility etc.

Also, I might put Fiera in along side a Warper or Bioconstruct. I've already got an idea of what they'd look like.
