If you're a returning member, no, your account has not been deleted, we've actually changed board since you were last here. just go ahead and register, PM one of the staff, let us know you're here, and we'll get right to work converting your information and post count from the old board.

Keep in mind that any RPs running on the old site are probably still there, so if you don't see them here, just check the 'Home' Page, and follow the link back to the old board.

I went to the support boards to see what was going on since this hit both Zeta and Invision, and a heads up from the guys at Invision and Zeta company so that you guys aren't alarmed too much after not being able to access the site for a day or two.

So, looks like all is good!

Thanks for the detective work, Jessie. It's good to know they've got everything under control.

Here's Invision's reason for the failure:

Dayamn, and it wasn't a little thing either. I'm amazed everything is intact.

From Doug Erwin:
This evening at 4:55pm CDT in our H1 data center, electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room. Thankfully, no one was injured. In addition, no customer servers were damaged or lost.

We have just been allowed into the building to physically inspect the damage. Early indications are that the short was in a high-volume wire conduit. We were not allowed to activate our backup generator plan based on instructions from the fire department.

This is a significant outage, impacting approximately 9,000 servers and 7,500 customers. All members of our support team are in, and all vendors who supply us with data center equipment are on site. Our initial assessment, although early, points to being able to have some service restored by mid-afternoon on Sunday. Rest assured we are working around the clock.

We are in the process of communicating with all affected customers. we are planning to post updates every hour via our forum and in our customer portal. Our interactive voice response system is updating customers as well.

There is no impact in any of our other five data centers.

I am sorry that this accident has occurred and I apologize for the impact.

Well, I'm quite surprised also that nothing was severely damaged. At least nothing big is in disrepair. That would be horrible... DX

Though the outage seems to be going on and off while they are still repairing and restoring (had my auto-refresher on for the last hour), so it might still be a little while before we have a solid connection again and the computers recognize the IPs again.

Thats odd, I noticed no drop in service here. I wonder if it only effected particular areas.
I'm just glad nobody was hurt.
