If you're a returning member, no, your account has not been deleted, we've actually changed board since you were last here. just go ahead and register, PM one of the staff, let us know you're here, and we'll get right to work converting your information and post count from the old board.

Keep in mind that any RPs running on the old site are probably still there, so if you don't see them here, just check the 'Home' Page, and follow the link back to the old board.

I'm a zombie freak, plain and simple. I have 324 different zombie preparedness plans (323 of which involve using Silver Fox as a distraction in some mannerism).

Anyway, I've had an idea for a zombie-in-general and/or Left 4 Dead Roleplay for a while, but this is the first open-RP site I've visited that it could potentially work on. RP'ers can play both as survivors AND zombies, so it would be a fun back-and-forth with the occasional influence of the "AI director" (all praise him).

Firstly, nice RvB joke (even if it is at my expense).

Also, I'm game. Although the zombies better have lifetimes longer than that of a gerbil in a speedbag.
"Why does everyone still call me 'kid'? I mean, seriously, right now, there's five twelve-year-olds helping fight this battle, and you're calling a nineteen-year-old gunnery sergeant 'kid'? I think I deserve a little bit more respect than that!"
"Sure thing, kid."

1. I'm in, regardless.

2. What is your proposed method for the zombie's coming about, or is this so far in the past no one cares?

3. I'm assuming we're talking about roughly-modern tech: shotguns, rifles, flamethrowers, etc. Am I right?

2) The protocol method for zombies development / spread / release will be one of the plots in the Roleplay, so you guys will get to flesh that out yourselves (pun intended)

3) Yes, tech-wise this is present day. Everything we have now, we have in game. (Sorry, no lightsabers or plasma rifles)

How the zombies would work is, (and this will develop more as the infection advances) when a player is zombie-fied, they retain a basic memory (how to walk, run, etc,) but they seem like they're in a semi-awake state from a person's perspective. They're not in complete control of their motions (the player is, obviously, just the character feels like they aren't) though they can have some outcome on what the zombie does. And unless it's a severe wound (Think: Shotgun to chest), the kill method will most likely be headshots. Zombie 101, people: Destroy the brain, destroy the zombie.

I might be in, depending (mainly on if I ever get around to posting in Heroes first...).

I have some questions too:

1.) Zombie-change vulnerability, do you change from even a small scratch, or do you have to be straight out bitten? Or somewhere in between?

2.) When would the roleplay take place in regards to the initial zombie event? Would it have been going on for a while, so zombies are at least expected, or would it be right at the start, during the first zombie panic?

3.) Zombie danger level, where on the chart from mindless shuffling to insanely fast wall climbing would they fall? I assume somewhere in the middle, ie they can run, but not climb very well (so high ground does provide a decent amount of protection)?

1) The easiest and most direct way to become infected is, alas, the bite. However, there is one other way. Scratches normall wouldn't do anything, but blood-to-blood contact, I.E. Zombie gets splattered and some blood lands on an open wound, is grounds for infection. Wear a band-aid.

2) Still trying to decide, but it would most likely be within the first week or so, so that there are plenty of people (and therefore panic) but also zombies are somewhat-commonplace, though misinformation and rumors are abundant.

3) At the start of the campaign, they'd be able to move at a moderate pace (maybe a slow jog) but as the infection progresses, expect to see faster, stronger, or outright SCARY new types of zombies.

One more question.

Is the contagion strictly confined to that of humanity, or are other species affected too? I.E: Zombiedogs, Zombirds, Zombears, etc.
