Allow me to introduce myself, I am Doctor Buzz Killington.

Let's be honest though, in the case of MechWarrior, A keyboard and mouse or keyboard and joystick is going to give you a heck of a lot more control over what you're doing, moreso than a controller with a grand total of 12 buttons, two joysticks, and two analog triggers can. Especially in a game where it has more functions than a swiss army knife, and you use every one of them.

I'm going to be having perhaps a little too much fun messing with people on night-time maps.

Thermal vision and flares don't go together too well, after all.

And I'm probably going to need to learn from one of you guys, after all, I've never had a chance to play MW properly before.

I'll have to side with EP on this one. Granted, I never used all of the mech's functionality, such as weapon regrouping in the field. But, programming the joystick with its twelve buttons pretty much gave me all I needed. (I always removed jump jets. I found no point in them. They just took away from what I could have for armor.)

Armor, speed, and medium firepower. Heck, in the original MW (released by ActiVision), I used to take down Battlemasters with my lone Locust.

And, yes... thermal scopes don't handle bright lights too well. Don't worry, Pom. Typically, the MW games are more arcade-style than one would think.

No jumpjets? You've never run a scout mech before then. I always had jumpjets on my light, sometimes my medium mechs.

But yeah, I used my keyboard for about every function I could think of. But my favorite was always the ALPHA STRIKE key.

When in doubt, use every weapon at ONCE!

...then explode. Oh well.

Why use jumpjets on a mech that runs almost 100mph? Jumping always makes you more noticeable. Why jump over buildings while getting shot in the back when you can duck around a corner and use it as cover?

The ONLY time I can think of to use JJs is when you're out in open field, and there's terrain you can't normally run up on, so you jump up to the plateau and run like hell.... where the only things that can get you are other scouts, mid-sized, and a few heavies. I think there's even one assault mech that uses them.

I'm typically fire-support. I used to be either in a modified Catapult with a lot of missiles, or a Nova Cat with heavy lasers. I'll sometimes run around in a Raven for the awesome-sauce sensors and NARC capabilities, though.

Transcon, you have no idea how many times me or my brother would jump jet over something and unload an alpha strike into an enemy mech. The good thing about being in the air is that once you go high enough, there's nothing between your long range hardware and them, and you're guaranteed to get back under cover quickly.

Hehe, that's fun too. Unfortunately, like I previously mentioned, I tend to run Glass Cannons. On some of them (like my straight PPC Daishi in MW3), Alpha strikes just aren't good ideas.

Unless they're close to you, then it's just funny listening to their reactions when you annihilate the both of you at once.

Now, that's what I call Skeet Shooting.

See, while there's nothing between me and them with their long range weaponry, since I can't Jumpjet, I probably have a long range arsenal as well. I can't Alpha Strike, but I do have weapon groupings....

Oh, look.... an Owens. Firing CLRM20x2, ERLLx2... kitchen sink...

See, go back and watch the MW3 opening sequence. Two Fireflys jump jet from the top of a building to intercept a Thor. They both launch EVERYTHING, even their chihuahuas. Result: they both get annihilated. The only difference in this scenario is that they were attacking from ambush instead of retreating. In either case, neither did much good against the clan omnimech.

Point to make: This is happening in 3015. The Clans haven't even been heard of yet. Korenski is just a legend... a faint whisper. There is no clan tech. No omnimechs. No spiffy cool anything. Which means I'll be assuming that loading out your mech will be limited to hardpoints set to the chassis. In other words, it'll likely be similar to MW4 load out style without any gray boxes on certain mechs so you just can't load whatever you want in certain slots.

It's actually a Warhammer, not a Thor. To my knowledge, the Warhammer was an 80 ton assault mech, and the Thor was a 70 ton Clan mech. This is set before the fourth succession war, so I would say that there won't be too much (if any) clan involvement in this next game.

Proof can be seen in the IGN full detail trailer, Here.

EDIT: Has anyone else noticed the tiki girl on the mech dashboard on roughly 0:26? I just now saw it. Bottom right corner.
