"Hmm... so you're not aware at all then. You must have been hit harder then you thought." Constantine seemed to be pondering, as if trying to decide how best to explain the situation. A hologram of a man in powered armor appeared in the room. "My uh... master, so to say, is this gentleman. You might also recall him as Deadeye Clark? He saved you from the soldiers. You took a considerable hit too, hence you were placed under the field to prevent you from moving out and further injuring yourself. However I can see that you are out and about; And I know -why-, too. " The voice hinted at the fact that it had done well to inspect the ship's occupant. "You're a cyborg.... or you're simply not human at all. That field wasn't meant contain the likes of you. Still.... rest assured, you're among friends. I can imagine you are quite flustered, so allow me to explain. Pull up a seat, it's quite lengthy." Constantine waited a moment before continuing. "Kaviori is the enemy commander that is essentially holding this planet as a hostage unless he gets his way. He is an outlaw along with his crew, so it seems. He is not above sacrifice - and in the worst way. Not long ago he even threatened to glass his own crew it seems, but I personally think he's paranoid. My... uh... other cyber compatriot really rattled his cage. Fortunately, the same effect seems to have happened with his crew; their 'devotion' to him in light of the fact he was willing to glass this place with them down here has been forestalled. Haha." Listening impatiently as the AI outlined their current situation Blake silently thanked that Ra was no longer in control for ‘their’ body. Had he heard that a ship had taken scans of him to any extent, his programming would have demanded he destroy any data which had been taken. Including himself if need be. That still left the problem of the orbiting ship though, and the obstacle it posed. If Kaviori was so unhinged that he was willing to glass the entire area in a moment’s notice then it was likely any attempt to leave the world would simply result in them being shot down. And Blake didn’t have time to wait for the others to democratically negotiate some way off the world. Pausing mid thought he looked up at the AI as it finished its tale. He had been surprised enough to encounter one, Dread, on this world but two? Clearly the powers in the Milky Way had advanced much further than the so called experts of the Guard had predicted. Did the cruiser have ones of its own? Was that why both this one and Dread had not launched any major viral or hacking attempt upon it? “You say your ‘compatriot’ was able to contact Kaviori?” Blake asked after a few moments “Did he detect any weaknesses in their defenses either of you could exploit? Any sign of a method you could use to shut down their weapons…?” He realised he had yet to ask the AI’s name, assuming its owner had given it one. “Do you have any designation I can call you?” |

((Ah hell, sorry Shin.)) "Well, that's the sticky matter at hand, it appears that while he lacks any control over his trigger finger, Kaviori's paranoia serves him well when it comes to security... as a matter of fact that was the reason he fired on the sight in the first place. So unless he leaves a gaping hole in his cybernetic defenses, there is little we can do at the moment but plot." Constantine's tone hinted of frustration. "Well, I suppose one of the most obvious ways to stop him would be to overheat or overload the weapon systems on that cruiser, but again this is easier said then done... at least he hasn't the tools to detect my presence or this gunship. "As for my name? Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to tell you..." A holographic image of a pale old man clad in brown robes flickered onto the dashboard. His head was mostly bald except at the sides where snow white hair draped his shoulders along with a beard that would remind one of a wizard. His blue eyes were weathered and wise, as though he were old of age. "Constantine is what you can call me. Hmm... you look lost in a daze, is this the first time you've met the likes of myself?" |

((OOC: Sorry this is late, a repeat of my last computer problem happened again. This time with more viruses.)) "Hardly," Blake answered, smirking slightly at the similarities Constantine had to Shin's preferred holographic projection "but i'm surprised that the Federation permits any self aware computers on civilian craft. Or outside experimentation labs for that matter." He was already regretting the statement even as he said it. Though it could lead the AI into giving him more information, if the use of them was widespread or they were far from being simply limited to governmental facilities it would have easily identified him as someone unfamiliar with Federation. Or the Milky Way as a whole. And the last thing he needed was to lose the trust of the only individual with access to the ship's exits. "Tell me Constantine," he added quickly, a thought occurring to Blake "if you were to have others making similar cyberwarfare attacks at once against the cruiser, or if Kaviori was to become distracted by someone or something he could not afford to ignore could you do it?" He was hardly going to openly announce that he had a ship they could use to distract the cruiser during such an attack, but Blake hoped the mention of a resource they could use to help remove the threat of imminent orbital bombardment would be enough to get the AIs attention. |
