Sometimes, when we're thinking of things for RPs, it doesn't always work out. We'll drop RPs, the creaters will stop writing them, you change your mind, or some things just generally don't work out. I think it would be interesting to hear some stories. Here's a few of my own, most involve Trisha as she's the character I've had the longest and who's had the most involved past. She's been with me from beginning writer to now. Trisha's name was almost Janet, with her nickname being Jan. She was initally supposed to be witty and sarcastic, with a kind of adventerous 'leap first, ask questions later' attitude. I kept having her responding realistically in situations though, and she eventually became the soft spoken, friendly person she is now. This was only further cemented by how many "cool, calm, collected" attempts at characters I saw toward the beginning. Trisha and Ben were going to actually be related as brother and sister, but I scrapped the idea as I figured out more of Trisha's history. I was planning to have Ao'fet try to seduce Grey Fox in the RP Good Cop, Bad Cop when her turn for interrogation came around. I still even have a bunch of notes on Grey Foxes floating around, as she was also going to draw many comparisons between the animal and the woman herself. The RP didn't get off the ground, however, and I never got the chance. When I frist created Trisha, she went temporarily blind whenever she used the beflexor. It actually happens several times in my first created RP Greed of the Wealthy. I scrapped the idea because it was too hard for me to write with at the time. Squirt was supposed to be friends with a human girl, but she vanished from my mind and my writing. Enigma's daughter, Lorrilal, pretty much took her place in every way after a while without my even realizing it. I was going to have an alien type character who was only four feet tall. Then, perhaps my biggest of all, I was going to have Trisha and Nick get married and Squirt was actually going to be their biological daughter. Nick was seeing visions of her from the future because of the general distorions of reality whenever Trisha shows up. I scrapped the idea after Trisha and Terron became a couple, and decided to make Squirt a mysterious little AI girl to explain how Nick was able to see and hear her. Then, rather than being a distortion from the futire, she was using a chip in Nick as a means of communicating. I was running with the idea of Trisha fist being pregnant in my RP Decimated, Nick noticing she smells odd, but decided to scrap it because the revealation felt "too early" in my RPing career and in Trisha's life. Squirt's dark green hair is still a sign of what might have been. Though the AI reason she has it now is explained when she tells Nick he looked lonely being the only person she'd ever seen with that kind of hair color, so she decided to have it too. |

Astheneia was originally modeled off the alien organisms from Freelancer, and the Beast from Homeworld Cataclysm. It was intended to be far more like an incredibly durable plague that could interface with technology and use it to its advantage, but it developed more into an intelligent being. |

I had a quite a few things planned for the RP Resurrection, which died to disappointment. I was looking very forward to implementing my ideas into the RP, especially few for DarknightCuron's Z'Gato. God knows how much I wanted to pluck that bird brain's feather even more after I used Di'onn (The Crimson Geist) to mock him. Much of it involved breaking down his concept of "Only the strong survive," in many manners; and let me tell you, I wanted soooooo much to do that. Some of this I was actually thinking of using Jenosa as means to do this. She kinda see through the mess of rage, and I was hoping to have her state in front of his face was, "So you believe only the strong survive, eh? Isn't that for the "animal kingdom,"- you know, for the animals. I guess that makes you animal in a big suit; with a big bun and a small brain. I also wanted her to point how both Z'Gato's and Samus's rage against one another is them just trying to satisfied their own - pardon me for saying this - but selfish desires. As you can see, I wanted to do a bit of satire. And just for the record, if the moment came and Z'Gato dropped down a pit, I would have had Di'onn write on the walls for him to see "Welcome to Hell." There were also quite a few things I wanted to do for Jenosa in terms of her character. I wanted to show off a few abilities and show that you don't necessarily need to (As you can, I really like dissolving the concept of 'power' quite a bit. I wanted to have her virus do a few random tricks, depending on what would happen in the RP. I was also wanted to resurrect a dead guy's mind inside of her head, but I have no idea if I'll be doing that or not |

This wasn't Sci-Fi related, but I originally wanted my character in Heroes to be half moth. You know, big Luna Moth wings, antennae, enhanced senses, could talk to other moths, etc. Big difference huh? Edited by Fatalis Maximus, Jun 8 2009, 01:47 PM.

And said moth got its powers by bashing itself against a bright monitor displaying RE over and over and over again XD Actually that sounds awesome, Arx. File that away for later use, perhaps even for the fantasy section. I can almost hear its giant fluttering now... |

I'm actually rather intrigued by CEMP's ideas for Z'Gato, whom was a character I specifically made for character interaction and development. Now I'm eager to start usin' him in a thread XD Curon was something of an enigma to me. Based off of the interactions of others, Curon was either going to be a bastion of defense for his teammates during C:TA, OR become one of the bad guys. It was literally that much up in the air. I really liked the interaction between Curon and Ember, though. Absolutely Awesome <3 And the Violet Hawk Gang!
