Dominion START: Name of Race: Bilbringi Homeworld: Freyja Physical Characteristics: Tall and wraithlike, covered in tubes. They have spherical heads from which any number of tubes (think that of a Puffer, only much smaller and sometimes edited with cosmetic indents to make each tube resemble that of a flamethrower) will protrude about half an inch. These tubes are also present on the palms of their hands, back, shoulders, calves and thighs. The longest tubes are on their back, reaching up to 3 feet long, with the ones on their thighs coming in at a not so close second of 4 inches. These are telescopic and do not hinder their ability to sit in most chairs. Typically an individual has five fingers in a star formation; thumbs are not necesary for them to grab things. Feet have the same sort of pattern though they are talonlike. Very earthen in appearance, with what could be thought of as glowing red cracks about their claylike flesh. This is usually an enhancement, as very few (if any) Bilbringi actually have the internal temperature necesary to create such a glow. History: At one time, Freyja was a volcanic paradise to silicon-based life. However an indeterminate event decimated the world's atmosphere and left it icy and barren. So cold in fact, that almost everything save the Bilbringi, a few especially hardy plantforms about the equator, and a fraction of the previous polar ecosystem (still at the equator) remain living on the planet. The Bilbringi had already discovered the mysterious system the Synths had activated, and focused their talent on the aspect of fire. This has not let them down, as they are able to heat and cool things, as well as mold the icy world to their whim. As spacefarers, they found little reason to stray any further than the edge of their solar system for some time, until the promise of a planet very similar to Freyja's original composition was discovered quite near by. Instead of uprooting completely, they simply colonized the planet and moved on, though they found no traces of life of any sort for hundreds of years. After this lonely period, however, they encountered the Skith, whom they had a brief war (which ended in stalemate), and shortly after became a member race of the Dominion. Culture: The Bilbringi value dressing themselves in jewelry to an almost unholy extent. Golden neck-plating, bracelets and pauldrons are common amongst the wealthy, while chunks of pure crystal are more popular with the arcanists (Ruby being by far the most prized and adored). They also take pride on the fact that their technology can run without emitting any heat, thanks to their intervention. Shamanism and technology converge in Bilbringi society, with many leaders having been seers, arcanists, and shamans. They value steadfast commitment and the ability to adapt to any situation on a whim. Language:Chhfar (chif-far) is the most widely spoken of the Bilbringi languages. It is a combination of ejecting air at high speeds from their pipes, emotive body movements to a greater extent than the Cybai; even posture dictates the intended mood of their speech), and a strange reverberating noise not unlike a guitar. They too can speak the Dominion's language, as well as that of the Confederation's, both with some difficulty. Technology: The vast majority of the Bilbringi's development took place in a setting similar to Steampunk fantasy; Vast steam powered airships were the mainstay of trade, intricate clockwork powered doorways, and simple steam-powered walking vehicles were a mainstay. They have, however, converted to electricity, and most recently the Arcane, with the help of the Synths. Their technology still does give off a feeling of steampunk culture, however, their starships as well, bronzen behemoths shining gold in the vastness of space. Relations/Alliances: Member of the Dominion. Notable Members: High Shaman Lhraan, council leader. More soon. Edited by Qualanx, Jun 5 2009, 07:30 PM.

XD Awesome. I'm thinking Gevurah won't be detailed in-depth here, as they've got about as many races as both the Confederation and Dominion combined, times two. ;-; Too many. |
