Weapon Accessories
-Cryo Discharger:
This can be mounted on the bottom right of the Gauntlet, and capable of firing bursts of highly super cooled air combined with small ‘shots’ of dry ice which makes this a very dangerous weapon to the user and is often only used by either the most hardened and foolish of Templars, or Avatars who are capable of replacing any missing limbs and body sections lost by a misfire from this device.
It has often been thought that this addition was a precursor to a larger ‘ice-thrower’ weapon but such a firearm has yet to be seen.

-Grenade Launcher:
This is a single shot weapon which can be mounted upon the bottom right of the gauntlet and is essentially a ‘standard’ grenade launcher, a single shot weapon with the capabilities of firing a number of grenades ranging from explosive to stun, chaff, and Liquid Nitrogen ammunition.

Description and History:
The weapon was of an original design which essentially consisted of four individual projectile guns linked together and slaved to a single firing system and trigger. This allowed for each weapon to work individually and to be separately selected and fired or for all barrels to be fired simultaneously. The ‘firing system’ (a trigger, barrel selector and handle) was fitted between these four weapons giving the gun it’s title.

While the weapon quickly proved to have the stopping power and capability to kill and destroy anything from attacking soldiers to low flying aircraft, the weapon quickly proved to be cumbersome and overly complex in design, making the regular cleaning of the weapon a highly tedious and time consuming process, in addition to this firing all barrels gave the weapon a very long reload time and what’s more is that it’s recoil and weight made it highly unfavorable amongst the physically weaker races and little more than a handful were ever produced.
It’s estimated that about two of just over a hundred Templars ever actually chose this weapon as their chosen firearm and for many years it was seen as more a setback in the technological progression of the armories.
As other technologies were invented and developed this view began to change however, with the introduction of the Avatars into the High Guard and the development of new forms of power armor within the Templar’s crack units the Gauntlet quickly became the weapon of choice of many of the Commonwealth’s elite forces.

Sighting Systems
This is arguably the force staff’s Achilles Heel, as the while the Interceptor’s are self aiming the flare launcher mounted on the staff’s front end must be aimed purely by eye. Fortunately this weapon was designed for very short ranged firefights anyway.
Weapon Accessories
-Interceptor storage unit: These are fixed onto the underside and above the grip of the staff and are essentially additional magazines for the interceptors and would double the total Interceptor ammunition of the weapon.

Description and History:
The Combat Staff as it has become nicknamed, is the standard weapons used by the crewmen and high guard stationed aboard the Commonwealth fleet, allowing for the use of both ranged and melee attacks in the close confines of the ships.
Originally used by the Hynerian armed services as an assault weapon for their raiders, it was brought into service early on into the Commonwealth’s formation and has changed very little since then with the passing years, but some of the more modern designs feature blades at one or both ends to give them much more emphasis upon combat.

The primary firing mode of the weapon (the energy flares) was added after the Hynerian's allied with the Commonwealth, this is used to confuse and blind sensory systems (both mechanical and natural) which are based upon seeing various forms of energy by expelling high levels of beta and gamma radiation amongst other, much more dangerous forms of energy. This gives the additional ability for the flares to burn through both various substances and kill most creatures with one or two well placed shots.

Technological Enhancements:
Polarization emitter- In a battle situation, electromagnetic power can be applied to the blade and quillon materials, making them several orders of magnitude harder and capable of withstanding attacks and blasts which would normally destroy them.
While this is not as effective to the ceramic outer hull sections of most Commonwealth ships which use this from of technology it has none the less proved to be very effective against lightly armored and some heavily armored enemy infantry.

Inertial Enhancer- This is a device built into the hilt which is activated by a single rune on the base of the underside of the back quillon. This allows the heavier slashes and occasional stabs Ra makes to be ether further enhanced by being given further force, it can supposedly boost the strength of the attacks by at least ten times.

Templar armor
Photo-Reactive Armor (or Templar armor) was a technology in development by the Auranar military before the Fall. This was picked up by the Templars, which improved the technology over the Crusade era. Eventually, the armor could withstand almost all known types of small arms.
Thanks to the armor, small Templar strike teams were capable of engaging much larger forces. Enhanced Metroids, armed traditionally with spine and bard launchers along with claws, were especially vulnerable as their weapons were almost completely ineffective.
The name suggests that the armor uses light in order to nullify the kinetic energy of whatever hits it. Conventional reactive armor works by blasting out a piece of outer armor to counter the kinetic energy of an incoming projectile. This outer armor is likely replaced with light, which means as long as there is energy, the armor will continue to deflect incoming fire. However, there probably exists an upper limit of how much the light can nullify before the armor itself starts taking hits.
It is presumed that one of the major reasons power armor has begun to be so hastily developed was to make up for the lack of protection this technology gives the wearer against energy and plasma based weapons.

Internal Systems and Enhancements

Enhanced Strength- While much of Ra’s muscle structure is a synthetic variant which has been designed to mimic those of humans and cover his metal skeleton, they give him strength and endurance far higher than that of normal (unenhanced) humanoids, to the point where Ra’s strength is almost equal to that of someone in power armour.
Additionally while this makes him marginally tougher than normal beings, he is still very vulnerable and open to weapons fire and attacks, all of which can severely damage his body with enough strikes and hits in the right places.

Total Coordination- The optical and sonic sensory systems within Ra are intrinsically linked with his CPU and body, to a far greater extent than normal beings and during certain complex actions or fights he is capable of using this to completely control and predicts the direction, movement and momentum of his own body and limbs while predicting the same of other individuals and objects close by.
This is used to make up for Ra’s speed, which is barely on par with that of most military and specialist personnel.

Internal Communications System- This is not as useful as it sounds, as the comm. system has been specifically designed to link with Ra’s ship, the Lightbringer, and acts far more as a receiver than a two way transmission device and requires a direct link with the Lightbringer’s far more powerful systems to communicate with the ship.
In order to open up this link, activating this system opens a hole in the energy shielding (see next enhancement) within his chest and communicating with the ship makes it far easier for him to be detected by others.

Energy Shielding- This is not a form of ‘shielding’ in the normal sense, but instead it is instead used for a form of stealth. Ra’s main power core and the systems which generate the most power whilst they are active are surrounded by a metal which masks electrical and psychic energy signatures, and while they can still be detected by sensitive equipment at close range (within a few feet) it takes powerful sensor and detection systems to detect these signatures at anything past five meters.

Feel No Pain- This is something of an unusual ability in the fact that Ra’s design means that even with his synthetic flesh and skin he cannot feel pain, he is capable of completely detecting and sensing damage but this is registered as pure information with no real ‘feel’ or warning to it, allowing him to take horrendous amounts of damage but keep moving and fighting, however, If he is too badly damaged then he will still withdraw from whatever mission he is carrying out.
The disadvantage of this is that Ra is incapable of feeling most textures of objects and other physical objects.

Regeneration- This is a self repair system consisting of several billion nanomachines which are programmed to stabilise and repair any damage to Ra’s body, this takes between several seconds (a small cut or laceration) to several days (rebuilding or reattaching a limb) to fully heal and even then the repairs are often only short term solutions and can only be fully repaired when Ra returns to his ship.

Hand to Hand Combat
While Ra has no definitive fighting style or even brawling techniques, his CPU has a significant inbuilt ‘training’ involving CQC.

CQC (Close-Quarters-Combat), is a system of Maneuvers, Tactics and techniques for use in Close-In combat situations. Its mostly used by the Army and Police Units, although its often used by Criminals and other elements as well.
It mostly consists of Tactics, often related to Breaching a location, and centers around the use of Psychological Warfare and Maintaining Momentum during an operation.
Its sometimes classified as Short Periods with Sudden Violence.

Despite its name, CQC is not a martial art, and does not include actual hand to hand combat. It merely covers situations where hand to hand is quite likely to occur, and instructs on how to dominate such a situation.
For instance, "Maintaining Momentum" is an important part of CQC, involving smashing down doors or Dropping in via Parachute, preventing your targets from being able to regroup or organise themselves and Instilling fear and intimidation in them.

Sword style:
Ra’s fighting style with both his blades is extremely minimalist and he will almost always attempt to end fights in their early stages. Much of the style focused on counter offensive attacks, and very quick light slashes followed by heavy strikes.

Defensive strategies and techniques are only truly used when encountering multiple enemies in which Ra will block most attacks while wounding most of his opponents and killing a few others whilst prolonging the fight, in an attempt to quickly weaken various opponents.

This is of course, assuming that Ra encounters enemies armed with blade weapons and not guns (in which case he would begin a blitzkrieg attack and get in as close as he could to prevent the person bringing their weapon to bear) and that he doesn’t have the option of simply shooting them all.
