JBHZI81U812 Posts: 866 Group: Codeghost Member #5 Joined: Dec 25, 2007	This is for improving the already existing Fantasy setting we have in place. Like spiffy monster ideas, Crazy races. New dietys... Basically I'm asking for help taking what we already have and making it better. I'm busting my brain trying to re-regurgitate and come up with new ideas and ways to better define things. I know other people don't think the same as me or see where I'm trying to go with something. However, I'd appreciate ideas that add to my ideas and the others who have helped to create the fantasy section. Often a few other perspectives help lots. Basically what I have done with the fantasy world so far is make a massive canvas. I need help filling it. So if you have any of your settings that you think might sit right alongside one of those, feel free to pull a few pieces out of your puzzle and add it to mine. I remember seeing something about mages with control over a particular element only. These guys would probably be peachy keen in The elemental plane for instance. So, Nitpick my ideas, Nitpick each other's ideas, nitpick my spelling... Nitpick and brainstorm away... I don't mind.

That couldn't be a more awsomer idea if you sent a bishi to my door and had him recite it to me in poem form (also, everytime said bishi sneezed, a kitten would pop out) I could give you a rundown of a Steampunk setting, cobbled together from various games and my own imaginings. It'd take me awhile to write it up though, but if you're interested I could PM it to you or post it here, whichever you think would be best.

I'm looking for a relatively low level steampunk setting as I said earlier. Now I'm not well versed in steampunk but I can tell you I would prefer air travel to still be along the lines of "Floating wooden ship" Also I had the Hub plane having alot of benevolent churches to various gods. But, if you have other plans, feel free. I don't know if this gives you a good idea of what I'm thinking of but Ive seen one steampunk anime and seen alot of steampunk style computers. Im also HUGE into Victorian era stuff (Like which is contained in many steampunk settings) Also a few members seemed to like the idea of a little technology in fantasy.

However a lot of technology will remain bulky and unwieldy simply for the sake of fantasy. For instance...(And this was blatantly knocked off from Last Exile because the idea pwnt) Firearms will contain no fire. However Air-rifles will take the center stage. Gun powder had not been discovered/developed for whatever reasons that will soon to be worked out... But anyhow... B, if you want to post up anything I missed of yours, go ahead and post it up, I'm forgetful. Oh, and magic is illegal in the Hub plane. >.> So, feedback? Now? I think they used Claudia and some form of Pressure Reaction in the Last Exile to keep their ships afloat... At least the vanships... They didn't explain a lot of the tech. However many if not all of the steam engines in the hub plane will run off a flexible rod transmission engine. Its a steam engine without the conventional crankshaft. Its a fairly recent idea but seeing how these people are stuck on steam, I suppose we can say their engines developed faster than ours. The FRT engine is rather light and in a three cylinder configuration requires no flywheel. So these things would probably be crazy helicopters of sorts. I'm rather open to ideas... Like I said... I'm not exactly the authority on steampunk so Throw in the ideas, I need them.
